  • Custom leather shoulder holster that I have been working on. This is the gun holder part, more to come. I am making this to replace an older nylon one that is uncomfortable to wear at this point. Please like and subscribe, and enjoy the video!

    Lol looks familiar! Hey how do you like the whittling knives?

      I am a fan of the small whittling knife. Never been much for the half round leather cutter.

    Thanks for making the video. I'm going to make a drop leg holster for my wifes 9mm pistol. I'll be similar to what you made in this video.

    Looks great! It's amazing how well that dye works too. You ever have to worry about that coming out of the holster and staining your clothes?

    • @themancard4692
      @themancard4692  Год назад +1

      Once the dye has set and I apply some water protectant I haven't had any issues with it bleeding off personally. I have seen a couple projects where dye was applied far too heavy and it can cause some of those issues.

    If you go to a local kitchen counter builder they normally give away the sink cut outs in a custom top they just built. They are reatnice pieces of granite that helps in the tooling.

      I have a large slab at home. I definitely need to get a smaller slab for when I travel, this one I made while up camping. A sink cutout would be about perfect. Thanks!

      @@themancard4692 I just picked one up earlier this week after one of my "marble" sink cutouts cracked in half. They were temporary to begin with, so I finally found a counter company who had a few cutouts in the back yard area, they just throw them out in the back for steppingstones to the workshop. Marble is much softer than granite so make sure you ask for "Granite" and not just take whatever they have. I offered to pay for this one, but the guy almost looked like he was insulted that I would want to PAY for what he felt was a scrap to him. One man's "junk" is another man's "treasure", eh?

      For sure 😃! The problem is how to hide said junk/treasure from the wife?

      I got the last couple rolls I have at Tandy Leather.
