- Hello Folks! Today I'm making a Hand Tooled Leather Holster for a Ruger Mark II pistol. My destructive Cousin Seth is here for a visit too! HAW!
Sit back, relax, and enjoy!
What a pleasure it is to watch a true artist and craftsman at work. I love things that are functional but when they are also beautiful it has a compounded reward. You my friend are truly blessed to be both. When the Lord was handing out talents, he tipped his hand and spilled them on you. Thank you so much for sharing and have a blessed day, my friend. PB
Thank you very much Perry! Very nice to say!!
Wow! Now that is artistry & fine craftmanship. You are a man of many talents.
😊👍
THANKS!
Very nice work Gary. That's a pleasure to watch. That scabbard will last generations if it's given the respect it's due. Probably at least 2 decades if it's used hard. I love how durable and functional leather is. It smells great in the shop too. Nicely done Sir.
I hope so. I like making things I know will be used. Hopefully they will take care of them too.
That's just beautiful G.H. And you make it look so easy. Thank you so much for allowing us to watch! Your cousin Seth is a hoot! I almost shot coffee out my nose.😤
Ha! I can't believe he broke my chair! That was really funny!
Gotta love a Ruger too
Yeah, good guns!
This was just pure joyful to watch, you sir are an incredible craftsman.Thank you for sharing your talents with us.May God bless you and your family MUSKRAT.✌️🇺🇸✌️🌎❤️🌎
Thank you very much! It's fun to do.
That is a beautiful work of art! I really enjoy these videos. Thanks so much for sharing Brother. You folks have a great day. I think I have the same sewing machine.
THANKS! The sewing machine is a Tippmann Boss. How do you like yours?
@@MuskratOutdoors yep, same thing. I haven't used it much but I do like it. I think I could just about sew plywood together, lol. Dad bought it when he was quite elderly and then his eyesight went so he never used it. When he passed on in 2020, I got it.
Excellent work! Thank you for that.
Thank you!!!
Fantastic job. Thanks for showing us.
Thanks!
ABSOLUTELY beautiful.
Thank you Al !!
My Ruger single seven watched this with me. It's bright shiny smile said it is in need of a home like that. Now I'll have to be on the lookout for something very close to your creation. Magnificent work sir, a good oil job and it'll be ready for the woods. I've grown very fond of that little pistol, 32 cal, almost 357 power. Light, accurate as they come. Only complaint is it's loud with protection.
Ha! Happy to hear that! Is it a 327 Federal Mag? A friend bought one not long ago, but can't find ammo. It's supposed to be comparable to a 357 mag.
Absolutely awesome 👌. Bob Ross at it again ! Lol. Thanks for sharing
HA! It's a "Happy little holster, with a happy little horse!" I always liked watching him paint. Funny though, he'd get it just right, then do something I thought wrecked it.....but when he was done, it looked great!
Very nice work. How long did that take in real time? You are a man of many trades!
Thanks Stacey. A couple hours or so.
That s awesome brother !!!!!!👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks!
Yep, you're an artist, and fast. Enjoyed the video
Thank you very much!!!!
That's beautiful work Gary.
Thank you Tom!
You’re an artist Muskrat, beautiful holster 👍👍
Thanks Frank! Not always blood & gutts! HAW!
That was great !
Absolutely beautiful work.
Thanks for sharing your knowledge and skill.
Ok the jar with the brush inside
Of it is going into my bag of tricks now . What a great idea.
And I'm sure your leather sewing machine saves a lot of time. Instead of a hand sewing all. Great video.
Thank you! That mason jar works really well. I used to get a lot of bugs in the oil. That machine really speeds things up!
Beautiful craftsmanship! 👍🙏🏻
Thank you very much!
That sir is beautiful work!👍🏽😀❤️🇺🇸
Thank you very much!
Masterpiece of tooled leather. Cool video!
Thanks Igor!
Very nice holster Muskrat what a craftsman you are.👍
Thanks 👍!
All I can say is WOW. With your talent and skill with the right tools, you sure can make some beautiful things. Now to repair the chair after the holster. Great video, Thanks
HA! Thank you! I think that chair might be a goner! I might be able to fix it up though.
Looks like a big wolf. Nice work.
Thanks! Caught 4 this year early on.....I'm having trouble finding any more though....
Amazing work pleasure to watch you create Thanks for sharing.
Thank you very much! I'll probably have a few more like this coming up.....
Spectacular work
THANK YOU!
What an incredible video, I thoroughly enjoyed it!!!!!!
GREAT! Thank you very much!
You are a right handy feller!
HA! Thank you.
Nice work Muskrat
Thanks!
Wow!!! You are a really great artist!!! That's beautiful work!!!
Thank you very much! I can't draw the critters though....gotta trace them!
Very nice holster!
I agree too 😊😊
Thank you!
Beautiful holster 👍
Thank you!
I really like watching your work Muskrat, I've seen leatherwork but never as skilled as yourself..
Thank you very much Amye! I enjoy doing it, but I'm so far behind, it's not as much fun as it used to be.
Wow, you sir have talent.
Thank you very much!
You do really good work, it’s amazing watching how you work that leather
Thank you very much! I was thinking the other day.....I still owe you a holster! Sorry I forgot!
Absolutely WOW 😱👍
HA! Thank you!
I'm impressed!
Thank you very much!
Nice work, thanks!
THANKS!
Wow 👍that’s perfection . I dabble a bit in leather but you just gave me lessons. I wish I had a sowing machine like that.I got a kick out of your bumper sticker on your freezer 😂
HA! Thank you Paul! I didn't notice that sticker was there until I edited this! I wondered if anyone would notice! It's actually a magnet. We put one on a friends car, and she drove from Idaho to Louisiana before she noticed!! I asked "Did anyone honk?" She said "No....damn it!" HAW! The sewing machine is a Tippmann Boss. They still make them.
Very nice
Thanks!
Excellent job👍🏼
Thank you! 👍
Very very talented!!! Very nice.
Thank you very much! Lots of practice is all.
Very nice work. really enjoyed watching you make this holster. Great work as always. Have a Blessed Day Friend! Justin
Thank you very much! You have a great day too.
That was gorgeous!!
Thanks!!
Just Beautiful!
Thank you!
You have an amazing talent and make it look so easy great video 👍🇺🇸🇺🇸
Thank you! I've had a lot of practice is all.
I love it, beautiful.
THANKS!!!
That was satisfying. That leather work would sell. I wonder can you put that horse or other images on those beaver tails? What a holster that would make. Your leather work is fantastic. Amazing every time. 👍👍
Thank you! No, the beaver tails have too much pattern on them from the scales. You might be able to combine the two types of leather into something though. Beaver Tail inlay or something.
Sweet! Nice leather work.
Thank you very much.
That called art i love this
Thank you very much!!
Incredible work.
Thank you very much!
Beautiful!
Thank you Frank!
Great job.
Thanks!
You do beautiful work!
Thank you. It's fun to do!
As usual Beautiful work your an artist thanks for the video.
Thank you very much!
Máš to zmakli chlape ❤💪👍👍
Vďaka! Bude to šialený týždeň!
Very nice work!
THANKS!
Great job brother that's a work of art!!
Thanks Mark!!
That is Beautiful
Thanks!
Very nice !
Thanks!
That's Awesome
Thanks!
Nice Job !! Made making that holster look a lot easier than it was. I seen your make of Salmon City but the state abbreviation looked like I.T.
I make a lot of Old West type holsters and saddles, so I had that stamp made. Salmon, was once called Salmon City, and the I.T is for Idaho Territory. It could also stand for Indian Territory.
Nice work. I always learn something watching you work leather. You aught to sell that fella the rocking horse to match his holster. I've got that same gun but with the black frame. I carry it in an old hunter holster made to fit a 1911. I'll make a holster for it eventually. I prefer the rear sight to be inside the holster or at least have a leather tab covering it since I tend to bang it into things like car doors, benches, rifle stocks etc. I've had to replace the sight blade.
Thanks! It's kinda fun to do. I've made hundreds of them over the years. This one is for a friend's little girl actually. I prefer revolvers, but I have a 1911.....only it's a Chinese copy unfortunately.
very NICE 👍👍👍
Thanks!
Well, if I could do that nice of leatherwork it would odd for me, but definitely satisfying! haha Very nice work!
HA! Thank you Bob! That title was my Cousin Seth's idea. He said more folks would watch....we will see!
Absolutely beautiful! What great craftsmanship.
Thank you very much! It's fun to do.
Great job
Thanks Joe!
Love it
Thanks!
Beautiful work. Our students do a bit of leather work, but not as nice as that 😂
They will be if they keep at it! I hope some of them will.
That's is awsome!
Thanks!
You did an amazing job!! That is gorgeous!! You are a talented man for sure!! 💞💗💞
Thanks! Not all blood and yucky stuff! HA!
@@MuskratOutdoors 😊👍
That is some nice artwork there. Can I have one for a Ruger Wrangler please? Lol
Thanks! HA! Let me catch up first!
@@MuskratOutdoors it is an amazing looking piece
@@HarshmanHills Thanks!!
Saludos👍👍👍
THANKS!!
Nicely done 👍
Thanks! Didn't you have a snowdog type machine? Did you use it this Winter?
@@MuskratOutdoors
Sold it a while back, just wasn’t using it enough… then I sold my snowmobile… then my Argo broke down… so I’ve been riding my couch all winter. 🤣
@@PuskwaskaOutdoors HA! The couch is more comfortable anyway! I'd like to have an Argo. Do they do well in the snow, or do they high center too much?
@@MuskratOutdoors
Depends on the snow…. I have 18” wide rubber tracks on mine and it gets around pretty good unless it’s powder snow and you try going up any kind of a hill.
If it’s wet enough to compact down I can go places where I can’t stay in the seat 😏
@@PuskwaskaOutdoors That's what I need!
Boy your awesome on leather work, Gary awhile back , I remember you pinched or cut your fingers ,was it on a BB gun cocking it , I forget , I was thinking about that today .
Thanks! Yeah, it was a Chinese pellet gun / finger chopper! What a terrible design! It about lopped off two of my finger tips! That thing hurts when it bites!!
Your Holster Build'n videos, are some of my favorites. What kind of rig, you carry'n in there?
Thanks! The gun? It's a Ruger Mark II I think? It's not mine.
@@MuskratOutdoors I meant the one on You.
Beautiful holster. I was wondering what you use as a finish
Thank you! Saddle Lac Spray. It's a wax/oil finish....but it's getting hard to find.
I’ve watched this video several times and was wondering what kind of shoulder rig you are wearing ? Again , great holster!
Oh, it's just a bullet slide over my suspenders. I might have a trapping pistol on my belt also. If so, it's just a 22 North American Arms 5 shot pocket revolver.
Good Morning 🌄 BEAUTIFUL
GOOD MORNING!!
That was wonderful!!? Thanks for sharing!
Do you have a website?
Thank you! No, I had a saddle shop for a few years, but now it's just a hobby.
beautiful work brother . your a real craftsmen . but im sure you already knew that lol . but if it means anything im being honest with ya just really beautiful .
Thank you very much! It comes from being poor. The things I wanted, cost too much, so I've had to make them instead.....not a bad way to be really.
@@MuskratOutdoors i know your struggle .
May I ask.what is the thickness of the leather? Yes really beautiful work!!
I like mine a little heavy, it's 10 ounce or a little more. Most folks use 8-10 ounce.
That's beautiful, do you ship to New Zealand? 😁
Ha! Probably could, but I bet it would cost too much!
That is absolutely stunning rat. Damn you take orders ?
Thank you Tom. I do, and that's part of the problem....I'm way behind. Kind of takes the fun out of it. If I ever get caught up again, I'd be happy to make you one. The other trouble is having the gun to make it fit right. If it's one I have, or can borrow, it's no problem. Without the gun, it's pretty tough to make one.
Vary nice work ,how long does it take for you to complete it .be safe
Thanks Paul. About 1 1/2, maybe 2 hours?
Very Good!... #144 ✝ {3-16-2023}
Thanks!
and how do i get one nice work
It's hard for me to do unless I have the gun to fit it to. If it's one I have, I can do it, but without the gun, it won't fit right. This one didn't belong to me. My email is muskrat14@hotmail.com I don't look at it very often, so if I don't answer try again. I get a lot of junk stuff and might miss it.
Just wondering the bark tanning that you’re doing on the BeaverTails where did you get the the powder if you don’t mind me asking
Trapping supply catalog.......Logwood.
I like your Ruger holster well that fit a GP 100
Need to make a chair bottom out of leather.....
You or me? I've made several. They turn out pretty neat!
@@MuskratOutdoors I meant for the one your brother broke lol!
@@superezbz OH!! That was Cousin Seth! HA! I forgot about that! It was funny!
Nice video showing off your work. Horrible job explaining how to do it . Try again only explain what tools and how to use them. Thanks for wasting my time.
Try this.....figure it out on your own the way I did. Don't be so damn lazy, and want it done for you. Let me guess, you are a Democrat, ain't ya?
Nice Holster
Thank you!!
