I worked on this series in as a stagehand in 1968 and was there when I over-heard Gordon Chater tell Stewart Ginn, he was sick of the series. Next week he was written out... and "My names McGooley what's yours" became "Rita and Wally". It was recorded in Studio A at ATN7 Mobs Lane
John meillon was a great ozy Actor. He was great in picture show Man. He sang a song called tap tap. And garry mc Donald who also Played Norman gunston. Early days of Australian TV. Graham Kennedy .to Bert newton. I was 5 years old Then. I can still remember. That long ago. I wish I Was still back there.how Times have changed.
Rip Johnny met him & his charming wife bunny aka Rita the eta eater ! Lol met them in the 1980s when they were doing commercials my grandfather was general manager of eta plant Marrickville sydney Australia @ the time!!!!
Oh THAT'S who Bunny was. Thanks! I met John M as a kid in the 80s at Sydney Airport. He gave me an autograph, asked which suburb I was from, a lovely guy.
Vaguely remember this series - very short lived? I could have guessed the guest star list without seeing the credits - a stalwart of Aussie talent of the 60's. Meillon brilliant as usual no matter what was thrown at him. Interesting to see the sponsor 'attached' to the opener aka in the United States. Shame that the studios that this was probably shot in at ATN7 Epping are about to be bulldozed...! Would love to see the rest of this, especially the crew credits...

Loss of McGooley and Balmain = Loss of soul
