I love that sampler!! It is so colorful and tells such a great story. Your antique samplers make me want to shop for them but I wouldn’t know what to look for and what price is a good price. I inherited a beautiful needlework from my grandmother and no one wanted it when my Mom passed but me and my brother would have just taken it to Goodwill. I adore it and it hangs in my bedroom. it’s a tree with all these animals on the branches and beautifully stitched. I came by my love of stitching from my grandmother and my Mom.
I love walking for that 'problem-solving, everything in perspective' focus it gives me. Thank you for another, lovely video. I so enjoy them. The laptop is in the kitchen with me as I get jobs done.
Nicola, what a splendid sampler! Yes, please do reproduce it, as if I don't have enough giant HATS charts waiting for me on my shelf, ha ha. I totally understand about the difficulty focusing on our stitching. I was stitching several hours a day but now perhaps a good hour or so. I weeded in the vegetable garden for a couple of hours this am while my hens had a run around the fields. I have to watch them least a hawk get them. I have been baking more the last week or so as my sweet tooth needs a goodie for comfort. Thank you for sharing the lovely sampler today as well as your precious time with us. Stay safe.
I enjoy your videos so much! Some days of confinement are so hard for some reason. Some days I can’t accomplish anything and others I am more focused! Lots of prayers and hopes that this virus can be controlled soon and people can be healthy and happy without worry!! You must live in a gorgeous area there on the coast!

I enjoyed the view of the very colorful and varied sampler. I wonder if it doesn't represent all the British allies during the war. I also find that when I view any video or television show, I look around the room and notice the little things that reflect the life of the person in the video. I wonder about the lovely telescope and what it sees. Is it ships at sea or stars in the sky? I wonder about the grand bronze lady and what she represents. You have a charming and elegant home and I thank you for sharing a piece of it.

I saw that on Pinterest and that it was an auction item. It’s great that you’re the owner. Wow, if you recharge it that would be amazing. The portion with the garden/farmer looks very similar to something in one of the old DMC booklets. I’m going to check some of the samplers vignettes since those DMC charts also had people charts. It is a beautiful sampler. Have you considered having a costume historian look at the different outfits and see is they can link them to a country or ethnicity? I will the first think that came to my mind was that a group of WI women designed and stitched this beautiful piece.

The sampler has so much detail in it. it is ginormous! I agree that it was probably a group effort with everyone donating their ration books. I loved the quilt under the sampler. Did you make that? I’d be very interested in the name of the pattern if you did. It sounds like you are very productive with your days. It’s just not in stitching. I think most of the world is having a difficult time concentrating. I know I am. Stay well and stitch on!
Incredibly beautiful! I’d start it today if I could. Maybe you could release it in sections? I think the design lends itself well to that, and you could do all that difficult reproduction charting a bit at a time. I completely get the lack of concentration, piecemeal stitching. I can’t seem to focus for long either.

Ive just googled it and the countries signing were GB, Canada, Australia, NZ, South Africa, Belgium, Czechoslovakia, Greece, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Yugoslavia and France.
