I literally just purchased this rifle a few days ago for my first AR. So glad you made this! I was a little overwhelmed with the breakdown but it looks so simple.
Question - I purchased a geissele ssa for my ic di. Changed many triggers but never changed on an ambi lower. Did you have any issues installing a new trigger? Were you able to keep the pistol grip and safety in place or did you have to remove?
I love how easy ballistol makes cleaning and maintaining a firearm but sadly I can't stomach the smell and had to switch up on cleaning products. This also helped me realize how important it is to actually use both a dedicated solvent and dedicated lubricant instead of any kind of CLP type products. Lately I've been using Wilson Combat carbon cleaner as the solvent and BY FAR the best lubricant I've ever come across which is Son's of Liberty Gun Works Spec76 lubricant which has practically eliminated metal on metal wear and somehow stays wet and in place in high friction areas. Pretty sure this is due to how thin and microscopic the active lubricating properties are, allowing the lubricant to penetrate deep into the metals pores. Because of this it also greatly aids in cleanup since all contaminates, carbon and copper have a much harder time displacing fouling, allowing you to simply wipe off the vast majority of yuck.
Absolutely not. This part doesn't even need to be cleaned whatsoever. Due to the high pressure generated from the gas the gas key will forever be self cleaning. The ONLY time you'll need to worry about the gas key is if it gets clogged by something random like a broken primer which is EXTREMELY rare.
Thank you for the video and the list of supplies needed. Just bought my LWRC and need a few more cleaning items.
Just purchased mine. Just what I needed to learn to maintain her. Thanks for sharing your technique and links!

Not nearly enough details for a newb
Thanks for this!
Does the "gas key" need to be removed and cleaned? I couldn't find anything online.

What’s the spray bottle??
Ballistol
What’s the tool you used to pull the cotter pin? Thanks for any info
Just take a paperclip and bend the outermost point almost in a small J or U shape. Makes removing the pin super easy.
Nice job
Gloves?
What scope is that in front of the holosun
Vortex holographic
