    In this video I take you through all of the plants in my conservatory - my last houseplant tour before I move house and take all my plants to their new home! My plants have been so happy here over this last year and a half, so I thought I'd share the final set up before I pack them all away and take them to my new flat - I will of course be filming a full house plant tour set up with all of my plants and propagations (including everything I didn't feature in this video) once I move house 🙃🌿

    I love that you make your own pots , little tip from me , repurposing old plastic bottles is super useful for small cuttings.
    Especially when trying to keep something humid or for propagating, just make the cut on the bottle a little higher to enclose your plant/cutting/plug/seed and then you have space for using a bag over the top and with the smaller plants I’ve found it really easy on removing the plant for potting up and they save soooo much floor space in something like a mini indoor green house or just around the house in general!
    Plus you get to see all the root growth & soil moisture which is super handy of course!
    You likely already do this though 😂

    Also, PLEASE show how you end up moving all of your plants!! I'm planning a move across the country (USA) and I have no idea the best way to try to move my HUGE collection.

    • @monicatrolio1152
      @monicatrolio1152 2 года назад +5

      I'm in the US and made the move from TX to OR with a U-haul full of plants. XD. What I did was went to nurseries and asked for their plastic crates they get plants in and used those for the smaller plants (You could probably go to a grocery store and ask for the plastic milk crates). I wrapped up my bigger ones in towels and blankets around the pots. Everything managed pretty ok. I did have some plants that did not appreciate the move (there was snow going through Idaho). I did trim plants back to make transport easier too. I also moved in early October so I think that helped too (not too hot or too cold for most of the trip).

    • @amywithay
      @amywithay 2 года назад +2

      @@monicatrolio1152 that has been my thought on moving mine as well (the truck). I'm also in TX and moving to NY. I already thought I need to move around October or April to avoid the worst of the heat here and cold there. I also have 3 smallish dogs and a cat to move as well. I'm hiring a moving company to move my belongings but all the living things are on me lol. 1500 miles with these fools. I might try to fly them to NY on an animal transport flight. I haven't decided yet what the safest option will be for them. Moving this far has a lot of logistics involved.

    • @monicatrolio1152
      @monicatrolio1152 2 года назад +2

      @@amywithay Haha, I transported 4 dogs too. My husband and I took our 2 vehicles, 2 dogs in each, with my SUV towing the U-haul. Also had 2 friends do the trip with us as well. We also got a moving company to haul most of our stuff (but be aware it won't come to your place until 2 weeks after you move in. Had other friends that did cross country moves as well last year that used moving companies NY to OR and TX to NC and they experienced the same thing). So I would look into getting an air mattress to tide you over until then. Honestly, if you could do the animal transport I would seriously consider that especially with a cat. If that isn't an option definitely as your vet for sedatives, it helps a lot! When I moved from Houston to Dallas, I had a kitty that absolutely HATED car rides, but the vet gave her sedative injection that knocked her out for the duration of the trip which was a godsend. We also used sedatives for the dogs to keep them calm for the 3 day trip. The dosage was enough to keep them chill, but not out right knock them out. I hope that helps. If you have any other questions feel free to ask. Good luck! 🥰

    Claire, for your spider mites, have you already soaked the leaves of that plant with 65% peroxide/35% water mixture? Then used the granules that go all over the top of the planting medium that kill mites? As well used the butterfly sticky tabs to catch the adults?

  • @amwright2550
    @amwright2550 2 года назад +1

    You could definitely keep that baby rubber plant in that small pot for awhile yet… even if you have it producing year round, another 12 months won’t do harm.
    I’m sure you’re aware of the variables but I make sure the mother plant is “root bound “ before propagating or up potting. If the roots are ready to go I think the plant will spend less time stressing and more time being efficient at take off.
    What do you think?

    Recently found your channel and so glad I did!! I have about 100 plants, nice but nothing like the size of yours!!! And I mean the size of the leaves! I also recently found two kitties in my yard so I had to move them all into one room so the cats don't get sick from eating them. I love the shelves and the ladder too. I do have a large Florida room that I kept them in and hopefully I will be able to put them back as the kitties settle down and get older. I might steal your shelf/ladder idea to keep them up and away from them. Your plants are gorgeous and your enthusiasm is great to listen to. Your Anthurium Clarinervium looks like mine. I hadn’t checked it for a while because it was putting out new leaves BUT when I went to water it I saw the silver trail of the Thrips. I only have 100+ but it took the whole day spraying every plant with my Neem oil mixture. Repeated the process 2 weeks later and now things are well. Before you move you have to check them anyway so just spray them off. I lost a lot of leaves but the plants have responded positively.

Philodendron Mamei with 4 leaves potted for 15€, 10 pieces of Linearis Hoya and Crinkle 8 plant 3€ . l have never seen so many plants in Bloom or that have bloomed. Do you sell seeds too? Your plants must be pretty old? Do You buy them when they’re small or mature? 1 thing I have learned is it’s better to buy a plant or 3-5 pieces because for the same effort you can have a huge plant in the end. Can’t wait to see the new Crib. Thanks for experience. ✌🏿

    Your spider plant at 1:48:54 has seed pods... you can grow from seed (not that that's really needed with the babies they put out) but I've done it successfully (variegated x non-variegated, the outcome was non-variegated). Just be aware that the seeds don't keep all that well, so if you want to do it, plant them as soon as the little pod dries.

    I’m watching your houseplant tour. Question about your plants on wood planks. Do they need to be kept moist?
