    You're one of those people with pleasant affect, can talk a lot but every word is good info or just entertaining without being annoying. Instant like/sub.
    Got the L3P on the way because the value proposition goes even higher when it's on sale. I do like a 'loudness' V shape sound as I'm very mids sensitive plus listen at lower volumes where top and bottom freqs disappear first.

    I got the XM4 a few weeks ago and I really love it!!! This is my first TWS earbuds and it's really great. For me personally I have no problems with it in my ear for many hours. The only problem for me is that I can't sleep with it since it's quite bulky and I sleep normally on my side so yeah that's only the down side I can think of. I would highly recommend this for Android users like me.

    Got the Soundcore and am very happy, the sony is just, now Sept 2022, so more expensive! One detail that I like on the Liberty 3 - aside from great sound, better than expected noise canceling, and the looks is how well the touch control works. I have a Sony 1000XM3 and that does not work well at all.

    Loved your analysis and remarks and agreed. It's a tough one this. Connectivity is the main issue which I am seeing on the Liberty pro 3 even sometimes at 660kbps ldac. But apparently in the verge review of Sonyxm4 they too had ldac connection issues apparently. Anyways at 100$ (bought on sale) the Lp3 are OK. I will pick the Sony xm4 when it's more reasonably priced. 3 times lp3 price is too much. Thanks for ur honest and sometimes overblunt feedback. Took me multiple views to decipher but I get the msg. Will keep visiting ur channel.

    I wasn't happy with my XM4's. I don't have small ears, but I could never get them to fit properly and snuggly. Wound up giving them to my son who enjoys them as a great upgrade over his Samsung buds. Bought the L3P's and have been extremely happy with them. The fit is perfect with a great seal made better with some foam tips I bought separately. Yeah, L3P's don't have nearly as many options, but with the foam tips they rival the XM4 noise cancelation the few times I could get the XM4's to fit and seal properly. The passthrough audio/transparency mode is not as good as the XM4's, I will say that. I also picked the L3P's up on sale for $85 bucks though. So my bang for my buck was well worth it especially since I shelled out $280 for the XM4's and feel like I wasted my money.

    Nicely done, the only area you overlooked IMHO is call quality. I am convinced from the countless videos I have watched on the Pro 3 and XM 4's is that the Pro 3 does a better job in blocking out ambiant sound to provide a clearer call quality in a noisy environment. Great work as always👍🏾.

      I don't remember the last time I spoke with someone with my XM4s on so this is not a big deal for me. There's a big consideration between music sound quality and call quality. I believe the person on the other side will not ask you to adjust the EQ on your mic just to have a more pleasant calling experience.

I have had the Soundcore's for about 2 months now, and really like how they are pushing forward, adding features in their firmware upgrades! The quality of their product is top notch from packaging, the app, and the buds/case.

    Personally, I can put up to $500 even more in headphones like Sony, Bose, Sennheiser and others that will last me 10 - 15 years and are repairable, but more than $150 in earbuds that have a lifespan of 3 years maximum, it really does not pass.
    Sony's are good but I think the real advantage of TWS is convenience and being able to be mobile with it, and Sony's are not very suitable for movements and especially not good at phone calls in noisy surroundings.

    New buds have the same ding. More evenly balanced left and right though. It was most prominent in the left bud before. Google assistant not so bad. I think it's the bone conduction system. No other bud with ANC does this. It's like ANC creates an anti-noise wave that lasts longer than the actual sound it's trying to negate!

But, if we look at it from a physical perspective, a single speaker cannot accurately represent a full range of frequencies because of how it has to shake and move. The L3p has the ability to do this because they are dual-driver and handle highs and lows separately. So is it too harsh? Or is it just more accurate we are used to? Food for thought. ✌️ & ❤️

    • @imwhatsnew
      @imwhatsnew  2 года назад +6

      Nope, it's too harsh. I understand your argument, but may I point out, there's no point having two drivers that are not well tuned over a single driver that is well tuned. I've owned many multiple driver iems that do a better job of this.

    At $250, the XM4 should have full touch control, not a choice between ANC and/or play and/or Volume. It's my only gripe!
    I would have stayed with the L3P but the wings didn't work in my big ears. They are superb value at $170, though the battery life sucks.
    The XM4 are the most comfortable buds I've tried. Love the sound and stage. The companion Sony Music Center app is awesome at forcing the phone to the highest quality without using Developer Options each time you connect.
    User repairability is a great feature too!

      If only the Sony's had better touch controls... Doesn't make sense how the 3+ year old IconX can do swipe for volume, play/pause/skip with taps, AND hold for assistant all on 1 bud, while the $250 Sony's can't even do volume + play/pause/skip on 1 bud. Oh well, maybe Sony will finally get there with the XM5s

      Soundcore is great device and if you setup properly noise cancellation with hearID is best.
      Also qualify of sound is best. Just only what is really bother me is battery life. That is true is hold just 4 max 4.5 hours with hearID and multipoint when you want listen mp player and then switch to Windows, on windows didn't work sound at all or properly.
      But rest is really great for that money. Even when you put to your ears thst noise is 50% less then sony.

      The L3P is not as warm in the mids and vocals even with EQ'ing. I used an "n" shaped EQ setting! That said, the crisp and clear sound is awesome for classical and darn good for all other genres. The ANC is really close to the XM4. Excellent value if $250 is out of reach. The Galaxy Buds Pro are a good option too for sound and ANC. Touch controls are a pain. Way too likely to accidentally actuate them. I have to turn those off

    I think your opinions about both of them are true to your experience with them, but the way you count points is so messy ;) For example, some earbuds can sound like heaven, but if they are uncomfortable for a certain person, then they are worthless and a bad buy. So comfort should have more weight in the final score. Or connectivity range, it might be very important for certain costumers. Then one person needs sound quality for music, another person sound quality for calls. Also both of them are in a bit of a different category (L3P are smartphone all-rounders, Sony's are more like IEMs for music lovers) and obviously in different price range (Sony's are two price tiers higher).

    • @imwhatsnew
      @imwhatsnew  2 года назад +1

      The reason I don't assign weight is that priorities are different for different people( i can give up a bit of comfort for SQ for example and this point system doesn't give that preference weight either). I trust people to make up their own minds if the information and perspective is presented clearly.

    I'm glad i watched this review since it is made pretty well, but i recently bought the XM4s and am returning them now. Almost a year later they still cost over 200€ and you only get 3 sizes in memory foam eartips. For me, medium is too small and large is too big. Soundcore gives you way more tips for way less money. Because of this, i wasn't able to experience the "outstanding" ANC that everyone praises. My former Liberty Air 2 Pros sounded much better to me bc they again had so many tips to choose from. Silicon & foam. The app from Sony is not as good as Soundcore imo. Subjectively Soundcore is easier to use, has a better design and isn't missing any options for day to day use. On Sony's app i cannot see if the firmware version of my earbuds is the newest, i cannot ask it to look for updates, all i can do is turn on auto update which i guess you have to do since there is no option to update them manually. There are many options for the ANC, but since that never worked for me in the first place, these options are worthless. The XM4s have google assistant or alexa which is a nice thing to have but because of this feature i thought my earbuds were broken. If you turn on the voice assistant, the earbuds cannot operate separately anymore. Only the right one can operate by itself. The left earbud just refuses to connect. They could've programmed it, that if you only use the left one, the assistant doesn't work but they decided to just have it not work at all. Sony's 360 audio seemed promising but unfortunately only works with 4 apps from which i've never heard of. All need you to sign up of course. No Amazon music, no Spotify, no thanks. Unfortunately i cannot understand the point from many reviewers that the Sony WF-1000XM4 have now set the bar really high. To me it seems like Sony has made improvements from their XM3s but left out a lot on purpose so they can justify the next generation. If a company releases a product which is purposely not the best they can make, why even support this decision at that point. From my perspective, the only reason people would buy the XM4s because it has Sony written on them.
