      I used straw for every bit of 13-14 years till I found this stuff.

    Heck yeah! My friend buys these exact packs! Very reliable. PLUS, they have chickens and pigs. They throw the old shavings into the pigs and chickens over their garden and it provides nutrients to your future plants!

    I normally mix hay and cedar chips, does really well too! Good advice!

      I don't use hay because it molds. I did use straw for about 13 years until I started using pine chips. It's easier to clean up than straw.

    I'm in UK and looking for a nice Bully.
    Thinking of building a good heated kennel for the guy, this is how I found your channel.

    How often do you have to change it out? Do the dogs poop/pee in it? Do they eat the wood chips?

      they usually kick it out pretty week try to fill up as needed , it stays clean for the most part that way but if it rains and they get it dirty I change it out as needed.

    I bought my dog a 1600$ dog house, I feel terrible because he sleeps outside so I put some heaters inside his house, I can’t stop feeling guilty because most people keep their dogs inside and mine is outside

    I had to haul three bundles of dried grass for my two dogs. I used to have 7 bundles gave several to other dog owners.
    Edit the Indian reservation has several locations for harvesting dried grass.

      Attawapiskat first Nation. It get bleeding cold up here. -40C
      Spruce bough will keep the dog off the cold ground. Comfy for the dogs
      I added two bundles of dried grass for cousin's dogs. A wooden box sleigh that is converted to long dog house aka pooch motel. mainly I still have a soft spot for the female dog McKenzie, I gave to my cousin.

      Three foot tall grass is ideal. Basic straw and hay. I usually change grass every twice or thrice a winter season.
      I may look into those type of beddings

    I use wheat straw which seems to insulate better.I feel that wood chips just lie flat.But I could be wrong.

      I keep my dogs out to about freezing , anything under that I have dog house heaters or barn.

      Pits are short haired dogs. They don't have the fur to keep them warm.

      Tractor supply sells them. The gate panel is about 100 and the wall panels are about 150-200 . They got the black powder coated ones now

      That’s what’s up bro. I used to keep straw in my dog houses when I was younger but these shavings build a nest better and I can use it on puppies and adults .

      @@Arshadkhanghori dogs thrive on interaction with humans and depends on the dog but also usually like a dog companion. Dogs want to be trained and given things to do. Almost any breed would be extremely bored and end up depressed in a kennel like this if they’re not being interacted with hours and hours every day. Please do not get a dog if you cannot afford to spend your days outside with him/her.

      I prefer a custom built dog house. Igloos let all the bedding slip right out , it's better to have a lip on the entrance/exit that igloos don't have to keep the bedding in.

      I have a habit of not using hay , the dogmen that mentored me never used it because it molds when wet and it is very humid where we live. I've used straw since 2004 but it packs flat too quick.

      They come in the house but a lot of mt dogs rather be outside. I took my female outside on my way to work this morning and she ran into the kennel , I got home and she won’t even come out the dog house she feels more comfortable in the dog house. They do get turns inside the house or garage through out the year.

      I only got 1 pit bull and I do keep her fat around winter. I don’t know if she is in the video but she was a pup if she was , I’ve uploaded updated videos of her recently. I’ve trimmed her down some and working with her daily to get her in shape. I’ll be updating her as she gets older and doing more videos with her . Thanks for your input , no harm done.
