First is the fact that the debunking table was noticeably larger and had a tablecloth on it whereas the original table was much smaller and bare. It's safe to assume that if there is a table cloth in the debunking experiment there were also legs--exactly the opening for fakery the Skole experiments took pains to avoid. Then there's the matter of location. The original series of seances took place in the basement of a brick house with one entrance a flight up. Therefore, in order to get to the table an accomplice would have to open the door w/o being detected, walk down a flight of stairs w/o being detected and get over to the table without stumbling. On multiple occasions. The debunking experiment looks like it took place in someone's living room. The two setups involved are, therefore, clearly not analogous. Another precaution taken by the Skole people was to have the participants wear glowing arm bands to make sure no one at the table could commit any funny business without being noticed. That too is missing in the, ahem, recreation. At no point does Dunning or anyone attempt to explain or recreate the dancing lights which is surely the most stunning aspect described. He showed me from my childhood to an adult, and what happened... Which I can not tell you. After showing me who I was before, I was ready to go back and tell my mom I was okay. He said I couldn't go back. I told him, yes I can... Just as easily as I came here, I can go back. He said why do you want to go back. I said because I spent all my time getting to know my father, and I don't even know who my mother is. He said, okay... be it done onto you as to your faith., but if you go back...
