"You're gonna wear the fucking turbans" - hahaha, best Vince quote ever.

It's hilarious that Jericho ended up staying in wrestling, and is wrestling now at 50, and Batista is a huge movie star, appearing in some of the biggest movies of all time.

And The Rock went from having a "normal athletic body" to looking like a super soldier experiment

@@larryfish9272 That's the thing. Rock was actually slimming down for roles, kind of like what Hogan did when he tried to go Hollywood. Was a weird requirement they had for them.

@@nrxmonk It’s not that weird. Those big muscular bodies start to look freakish after awhile (ex The Rock). Thanks to action/comedies now everyone has to be large

Jericho made some bad movie decisions, Batista and Rock have also done some garbage but the good far outweighs the bad for them.

Damn. Patrice was so wrong. Lol Rock bulked up and became a Bigger star than he was and Batista is now becoming a Movie Star. Lol time flys.

You can't hold that against him though, because what he said was true for back then.

@Tom Henesey I actually think that when it's all said and done, Bautista could establish himself as the better overall actor while The Rock remains the bigger star because of his presence, charisma with good acting skills. But from what I'm seeing, Bautista wants to really establish himself as a working actor doing all types of roles. Big or small.. his role in Bladerunner 2049 was damn impressive and turned me around even more to the possibility of where his ceiling can be as an actor.

    • @nicarlos73
      @nicarlos73 4 года назад

@Tom Henesey That kinda of the point I'm making. Although I think The Rock is a good actor, he has his roles that work well for his style which is great. Bautista is just really showing me that he's pushing what he can do as an acting talent and he's getting better and better.

Well remember Patrice died before the Marvel movies hit so no one could have expected the revival of huge, juiced up action stars in crazy comic book or action movies. At the time, guys like Jason Statham were the biggest action stars.

@@spicyoctopus That is a Good point man. I been revisiting WWE and it amazes me how Batista transformed. In 03/04 it was positioned to look like Randy Orton would be the big star busting out of Evolution and have a Rock-ish career. Batista was just the quiet muscle without much range. He shocked a lot of people.

Boy you people never ever have context. He was saying in accordance to the Hollywood standards of the time.
It's like saying Richard Pryor is too vulgur and raw for mainstream success in 1960 (which is true), but by 1970 the culture had shifted so much due to a number of factors.
Patrice was absolutely right at the time. If you remember Rock continued being kinda of a B-list guy until 2011 ish or after when the Marvell Universe World exploded.
He was also right about Bautista, Dave Bautista is 50 years old and only blowing up now, even though he's been perusing a legit acting career for long time.
Right now in Hip Hop "depressed" "suicidal" self pitying gen Z kids have cult like followings, in the 90s and early to mid 2000s being an "emo" rapper wouldn't fly at all.

Yeah, but who would predict that Bautista would develop the Artistic Approach to Acting and The Rock would hit big and hit 2-3 movies a year for a decade🤯
I don’t think The Rock can go AS DRAMATIC as Bautista, but then again…. The Rock’s brand is Box Office 💥 BOOM💥 He’d never look at an Indie like Bautista would

Batista just had an interview with Chris Van Vliet, where he talked about shedding massive amounts of weight to increase his eligibility for more roles. Patrice wasn't too off there & seems Dave is also done riding that train.
