hey everyone, just posted a new video where I play Elden Ring for the first time! Your support would mean the world if you watch it! ruclips.net/video/AYcAxpunDT0/видео.htmlsi=YZhunwkYYqWVJTXX
I was playing with my friend the other day and our sage was a girl. Near the end of the game, she said "you guys have been the nicest team I've played with all day." I did not understand the context of that until now.
no like how tf are you gonna be mad at a woman in a fucking game??? I had this game yesterday were 3 girls talked in agent select, was in a vc so didnt feel like talking but they asked me if I was a girl to which I said "no sorry" but they said I'm one of the girls and I started talking in a high pitched voice from there on... It was fun af
I can not stress enough how important it is for other dudes in the voice chat to speak up. Notice how every time she called them out, they would continue, but once another man told them to stop they would immediately. Guys like this talk this way because they want to impress the other men in the chat. Be like Reyna. God bless.
Yes! The harassers clearly do not and will not respect her. If she tells them to stop, they won’t take it seriously. But they will if it’s a guy telling them to stop.
not really. not all cases. some are genuinely toxic, others do it because it's just how it is over there, some do it to be 'funny'. those are other motives. you are not wrong about it being to impress other dudes in SOME cases, but most people don't wanna impress each other online when they're busy trying to not get quickscoped rushing mid.
I see what you're saying, but not everybody is confrontational. A nonzero amount of guys in this situation just mute the aggressor and assume that the girl will mute him too. But she even says that she keeps some of them unmuted for content. It sucks to be in this situation but guys aren't signing up to defend others when they install a video game & could make the situation worse if they tried to.
I'm glad the rest of the team called the guy out for the rape threat, we need more of that to happen, not only in games but irl too. If more men called each other out they wouldn't feel so comfortable saying shit like this to women
@@clava7851 I don't think it's entirely the issue you're painting is as. In the women perspective, I'm sure it's easier to listen to women talking about men than men talking about themselves. It's just an issue of identification. We should be happy some men at least listen to someone about their problems...
That's the difference between treating women normally vs not. If you're gonna ask a dumb s**ual question, it's pretty obviously creepy if you only ask the women
There was a study done on online Halo a few years ago that measured male interactions with female gamers. Low rank males (bad at the game) tended to be more aggressive toward the female voice. The exceptional male players were generally very friendly and treated them the same as male players.
8:40 "Fastest mute in the West" always cracks me up for some reason, I keep replaying it over and over. Wish I could make it my notifications sound *.*
it actually practically _is_ just advice now, some people really do need to just walk outside, and realize woman aren't the beauty standard, and that women are also f*cking people- like- I don't even know how it's possible to be THIS out of touch, WITH ANYTHING. and out of everything PEOPLE? I just can't comprehend it-
6:00 I’m so sorry this was said to you. I can’t stand hearing it. It’s absolutely disgusting. Thank you for sharing this though, it’s good to know as a girl especially considering that I wanted to play Valorant for a while now.
hearing that made my heart sink and only further solidified the fact that i will never play any games with vc without my male friends accompanying me. i hate the gaming fandom.
@@gracosaurus ngl hearing insults and threats online shouldn't really give you a physical reaction at all. It sucks but that's how every platform is rn u gotta get used to it.
Actually they probably have or will get girlfriends. I knew a guy like this and he always had a girlfriend, but all my friends who are courteous never had one. The most kind and philogynistic one has never had a girlfriend and he's 26.
the gamer girl jokes also treat her as a sex object to obtain. like acting like theyre sexually excited by her very presence when shes literally just a random person playing a video game
It's honestly crazy that once those guys heard a females voice they couldn't interact like a normal human. They most definitely have never felt a women's touch besides their mom. Edit: how does this have 3k likes
they're edgy teenagers who are running wild because of annonimity online games provides. thats 2 of the worst points combined. teens are cringe irl too but they try to reign themselves in since they'll get sht for it but internet mitigates their sense of shame
As someone who is friends with a couple female gamers, I hear this all the time from the people who are on our side of the voice comms, people just need to grow up and realise they ain’t going to get into any relationship if they can’t speak to someone slightly different from them in a polite manor. Respect boundaries because that’s how you get people to like you instead of thinking that you are an complete ass, someday I hope your future experience is better!
@@cranky-turtle No one is safe from getting shot when they walk outside, either, but that doesn't mean it's okay or that we shouldn't try to reduce violence. The internet is no different. We spend like half our lives in on the internet. Almost everyone's reputation and mental health are at stake here. It's far from the inconsequential, wild-west-esque playground it was at the beginning. So I'd hope we would want to make it a healthier place, to reflect what it's become.
@@GoddessOfThree Are you really comparing common shit talk to getting shot outside??? Newsflash: you cannot control other people's behavior. Just mute them and move on, it's just words from a stranger
@@levi-young real conversation to be had here because there will not be direct consequences for whatever crap they say since the internet is anonymous 😪 there's a disconnection with reality happening
My boyfriend started playing Lethal Company with strangers online. It's his very first experience with vc with strangers. One game he was in had a girl and this one dude kept making weird flirty comments towards her. My boyfriend embarrassed the hell out of him by being genuinely confused why he was acting so thirsty towards a girl he didn't even know. Enough so that that dude quit the game. He asked me "does this ever happen to you? I thought this shit was just a stereotype. I don't get it, what's the appeal of acting like that?" I apparently had the same answer as her which was "Yeah, it can be a pretty common occurrence" The girl is now one of our regular gaming friends. Moral of the Story: Guys, just stop being weird to girls online, and they'll want to play with you.
@Godzilla_Star_Eater I mean, the girl we play with doesn't. She just appreciates people that don't put her on the spot for being a girl and set off her danger senses. Even my bf and and I started by developing a friendship in MH:W. It's possible, you just gotta not horny talk first thing.
@@Godzilla_Star_Eater as if every girl you play games with needs to be available for you to e-date. have you ever heard of friends? they're great. appreciate 'em, they come in all shapes, sizes, and *genders.*
Hell that was disturbing to watch. Those were some really nasty guys and boys. I hope one day the gaming comunity will outgrow this kind of behavior, but I fear we have a long way ahead of us until then....
I dont think it will happen, but i believe the people who do so will turn to be younger and younger overtime as kids probably gonna have the "boys vs girls" forever. Just hope it turns away from being so explicit
As long as children/young teenagers play these games this kind of behaviour will stay sadly. Most of them don't know any better though, that's the kind of behaviour they see in media constantly.
@@timvision98 Actually, as someone who grown up having acess to it and someone who already had a lot of different social interactions on groups, I saw a lot of this on people older than "child/young teenagers" and the majority of them, out of the games. Sadly, these things are happening oftenly on OUR WORLD, not only inside the virtual world... and aren’t just these groups of age that do it
I don’t think this ends easily first the people who don’t outgrow this behavior stay on and continue being toxic and spread it to other people within that community. Then the people that moderate the games don’t do enough in these situations.
@@timvision98 Kids learn from their parents and the environment they grow up in. A sexist society will have kids emulating sexist behaviour. Society is the problem not videogames.
I queued with my female friend while streaming and as soon as she spoke, one of our teammates started harrasing her AND griefing the entire game telling her to go back to the kitchen, and girls don't belong in the game etc. etc.. As a woman who plays val, it’s a shame that guys have to be like this.. all I want is just some nice, chill games but I’ve had people decide to throw the whole game (on COMP!) JUST because they realized I was a girl from me saying one word, lol
when i play (i’m a pre pubescent boy) people do the same to me like i’m just trying to have fun. and when it happens to a person in my game i tell them to stfu so i try to report/ban most of those people
The thing is, most of them are probably just trolling. Its still annoying of course. But if theres one person who actually takes this seriously, then I as a male am ashamed of what the heck people of my kind are doing.
That's so unfair!! That why I always say I'm a guy. I don't want them fckn throwing because they can't take the fact a girl is better at a fckn game than them.
I just finished watching the video and might say that I’m quite sensitive with these topics, I ended tearing up. I will confess that I may not be a good teammate with most of people overall. But this changed my life’s vision. I have a sister, I have a female gym instructor , and a girlfriend. All what I want for them is to be treated equally as I am treated and I hope to find you in game one day, I will try my best to be a good teammate and not judge them for their play style. Good luck in the future, I’m definitely supporting you. Subbed.
Guys are so used to making guy jokes between eachother that when a woman enters the room, they forget she can hear and it can genuinely hurt her feelings. So i entirely agree and wish people would just think before they say horrible shit to random strangers. I know my friend can take it but i have no idea who the random person i'm playing with is and can deal with.
@@starcraft2own the problem is that *a lot* of men don’t really see women as people. either jokes or sex objects or both. it’s evident when whenever a woman makes a satirical or sarcastic joke they just think she’s being dumb bc she doesn’t have the brain power or feelings to be able to make a joke. and it’s incredibly frustrating not being able to be heard out at all. we aren’t seen to have feelings until we get hurt by their “jokes” and then we’re told to “suck it up and deal with it.”

It’s worth noting that I play on many different international servers on Valorant and CSGO, and this type of toxic behavior whenever there’s a girl on my teams only happens on NA servers. I notice in the gaming community, especially those with a more competitive context, there are three main subsets of people: Those that don't care and play the game, those that annoy and pester (innocently) once they find out a girl is in the game, and those who decide it is time to disappoint their mothers by being misogynists, be it for laughs and giggles or because they really believe what they say. If you find yourself to be a part of the third subset, understand that those you are targeting are people too who queued up to play a game and have fun, such as you did. While we all have the freedom to say as we please, we also have the freedom to choose to not be an asshole and ruin someone else's experience, especially in the case of 6:00 , where such rhetoric is not only illegal in most U.S jurisdictions, but it is also immoral, dishonorable, and disgusting. I hope those in subset three change, because at the end of the day, we're all just trying to get some RR and have a good time.
I'd like to say I'm part of the first subset seeing as I don't care who is on my team as long as they are a good teammate and play well with good communications. But holy shit did that guy take it too far, I'm glad the other guys in that game called him out on that, and honestly, he should definitely be permanently banned from the game. Regardless if he was joking or not (Although I HIGHLY doubt it) this guy acted like a complete degenerate and should have his name known to the world for the dumbass that he is.
@qolyn Given the context of the video and the topic at hand, why include a subset of racists? Racism applies to both men and women, not exclusively women, and if they are racist just because they heard the girl speak up, then they fall into the misogynist subset. Creeps can fall into the annoying category. Threatening someone just because they're a woman falls into misogyny. You're reading into the comment too hard. It's saying, "We see you; we recognise this problem, but you're not the only one who needs this problem fixed, and you are not going to get special treatment over others who have this problem." So why dismiss the problem for everyone but women? The laser-focusing on only the women's issues leaves a lot of abuse untouched. Which is a bit of a theme recently for some reason. EVEN when I'm playing well, it's traumatic and made me quit Valorant for over a year. I've now gone back to it but I'm so wary now and am very strict with the comms I allow through to me, if I get a hint of toxicity they are muted and I don't even care if it throws the game. That's so sad this (i don't know how much percent this are) maybe 30% of the mans destroy all of your fun. Also there are always this some people who don't wana talk, I wonder why...
Had a conversation on reddit onetime under a post about a high level female player in League, and people were talking about how there's relatively so little female players in League (and Valorant). I mentioned that a large part is how women are treated by a lot of gamers, rather than just a lack of interest. Some of the responses were...interesting. "Just don't use vc, how would they know you're a woman." "Don't respond to them, you'll just give them opportunities to keep going." I just find it hilariously sad how these people had actually thought you had to do something to provoke the harassment. As this video proves, you can be completely silent and people will still make disgusting comments and assume you're a girl based on username or character. I ended up changing my username to a more clearly masculine name because my other one was apparently too girly (even though it was just referencing a Zelda game) and most of the harassment stopped like magic, which is honestly just sad. I get that some of the guys responding to me likely meant well with their advice, but women shouldn't have to not use aspects of the game (vc or chat) or pretend to be guys to avoid such disgusting harassment.
As someone who normally plays League, I can assure you that (at least in my region) harassement doesn't happen a lot, it happens every once in a while but is normally mostly rage that we get.
I mean, fax right, women get sexually harassed in vc. But not in league. It doesn’t have vc. And a lot of high lvl players just muteall anyway. Also, I do think that ppl need to get thicker skin. Yes, it fucking sucks to have someone say that they’re going to rape you over and over again, and it should not happen, but not playing a game you enjoy because of those ppl just gives them strength. The reality is that we’re going to always have evil people in the world, and you might as well learn sooner rather than later how to deal with them, because it will get you a lot further in life.
My girlfriend just recently got a job (we're oth 15 btw) and the other day she was telling me how a group of grown men that she was serving kept flirting with her and telling her to come home with em and that she needed someone older, I was shocked and asked her why she didnt tell the manager or anything else and she said that it wasnt a big deal because it happens all the time. I got kinda upset and she just laughed it off like it was no big deal. I also talked to my dads gf as well about it and she says that that kinda stuff happens to her all the time as well. I had no idea. EDIT: We broke up.
When I was still in school a female friend of mine got a mini job during the summer break. Small town, so she had the joice between cashier and waitress. She decided on cashier because according to her other friends you get more money but get harrassed all the time. I was shocked how casually she told me this, as if it was a completely normal things to choose between. Well, even when she worked as a cashier she had weekly stories of being harrassed by guys... Usual older men, and sometimes older men who were literally there with their wife and children... These people just have no shame. Btw. she was also underage at that time.
@@gra_xx Definition women "an _adult_ female human being". As I said my friend was underage at that time. Therefore not an adult and not a women. I get what you mean, but just because incels have appropriated the word female that doesnt mean there arent any grammatically correct use cases for it anymore.
my bad! just use girl then. there are correct situations to use female, yes, but generally it just comes across as weird, sexist and derogatory to use it. actually, no need to use a term at all since there wasn’t an actual need to specify gender like that - you refer to her as a her throughout and also the context.
@@gra_xx Sorry, I didnt really think much of it. You are right, I technically didnt need to specify gender since I keep referring to her as "her" throughout, but I guess I felt the need to lead with her gender because, you know, this whole thing is about gender harassment/sexism, so it is kinda important for the story. I get why using female as a noun, to refer to women/girls is problematic, but I just dont think its a word that needs to be avoided like the plague. As if its inherently a slur or smth. But Im not a native english speaker, so maybe thats why.
I can do a convincing girl voice, and holy shit, the amount of actually vile comments from teammates is fucking horrific when I use it. Disturbed that these people are real and walk among us. My first toxic experience was someone threatening to r*pe me because I said it was weird that he called me hot. Talk about fragile ego. Jerk said girls shouldn’t play games but at the end of the game I was mvp which was a nice slap to his face. It's valorant, there's a lot of women who play warthunder or hell let lose and nobody says anything out of the ordinary with them around, they just coordinate
When I was a teenager, years ago, before online gaming even existed, among plenty of foolish, immature, toxic and awful things, I once said something overtly monstrous to a female thinking it would be funny, thinking it would be no big deal. She just covered her face with her hands and my buddy drove off stone-faced with me in the passenger seat, half-heartedly laughing at my own “joke”. It took some time to sink in that I was a monster. That I made the world a worse place that day, and for who knows how long after. I wish I could undo it, apologize to her, to her loved ones for the disrespect. It’s a pit in my stomach every time I think of that moment. I regret what I did. I’m not saying this in pursuit of absolution from the RUclips comments section, not to bate either rightful anger from those rightly triggered nor vile responses from today’s fools. I just hope that someone reads this in time such that, if you ever get the urge to “test the boundaries” of what you can get away with, for your own sake and more so for the sake of your target, reconsider and treat that person with an ounce of respect. You’ll take pride in that someday down the road, rather than live with a self-inflicted injury. Rather than to always be a real monster in someone else’s life. I’ll never forget her. I don’t deserve to forget her and I’m so sorry. Kayayluh, thanks for sharing your experience. Respect.
Thank you, we need more people like you in the world. You’re a wonderful person, and as a woman I both am really proud of and appreciate your growth. I hope others can learn from you and treat us like human beings. Respect. 👊🏻
the first time i had someone tell me they were gonna r*pe me over A GAME, i literally cried. I feel so lame for admitting it, but I had never experienced anything like that and it caught me so off guard.
First time it appened to me I thankfully was in a full stack with two guys and to girls, it was kinda shocking but I ended up clowning on those freaks and the guys where amazing with how they dealt with the situation, we even ended up winning. That being said I'm really sorry for your experience and I hope the fucker's been hit by a truck or something
@Zeta It's quite clearly staged. Believe me, I've been playing valorant for years. It's impossible to find that many people with understandable microphones, and theres no way that many people would actually be at the age limit of playing the game. it's always like six 7 year olds and 2 actually grown people. And if people are using voicechat, there's always going to be some seven year old with screaming in the background shouting random crap into their crappy microphone.
@@cessnacitation-x I‘m a girl and I haven’t even been playing Valorant for a full month yet I encountered multiple weird guys who were either being creepy or rude for fun in that short timespan.
👏👏👏
I was so thankful for Reyna. His name means “Queen” in my language too.
not really. not all cases. some are genuinely toxic, others do it because it's just how it is over there, some do it to be 'funny'. those are other motives. you are not wrong about it being to impress other dudes in SOME cases, but most people don't wanna impress each other online when they're busy trying to not get quickscoped rushing mid.
It’s pretty sad that men only listen to other men defending women and not the women themselves, like they have more respect for the man.

It's the other way around. It's more unhelpful to only deal with one part of a bigger problem. These people are the problem. That's what you're being told. It's not dismissing. It's saying, "We see you; we recognise this problem, but you're not the only one who needs this problem fixed, and you are not going to get special treatment over others who have this problem." It's not just that they need to stop being sexist. It's that all toxicity needs to be dealt with (like racism and even ableism).
You're right. We shouldn't dismiss this problem. So why dismiss the problem for everyone but women? The laser-focusing on only the women's issues leaves a lot of abuse untouched. Which is a bit of a theme recently for some reason.

Had a conversation on reddit onetime under a post about a high level female player in League, and people were talking about how there's relatively so little female players in League (and Valorant). "Just don't use vc, how would they know you're a woman." "Don't respond to them, you'll just give them opportunities to keep going."
I just find it hilariously sad how these people had actually thought you had to do something to provoke the harassment.

@@tobiasbayer4866woman. not female. use the proper word
@@gra_xx
Definition women "an _adult_ female human being".
@@gra_xx
Sorry, I didnt really think much of it.
EDIT: haha amongus sus amongus yes yes very funny guys. Also I did the girl voice too much and I am a girl now (I transed my gender)

bro omfg replies above can't take anything seriously
My first toxic experience was someone threatening to r*pe me because I said it was weird that he called me hot. Talk about fragile ego. Jerk said girls shouldn’t play games but at the end of the game I was mvp which was a nice slap to his face. One of my guy teammates called him out throughout the game which I was so grateful for but not every game will have someone like him which is why I never talk until I can figure out the vibe of the team
The MVP despite these derogatory comments is the most satisfying feeling

Respect. 👊🏻
Try and get in contact with her and apologize. It could mean more than you think.
there are adults still doing this thing to this day, so you noticing and correcting yourself makes you a good person and a mature man. Good job
Wtf did you eat her pet as a joke to be so dramatic about it?

It's honestly sad that people have to bully in a game. I feel bad for all the women who play games and get hated on constantly.
They dont though. whoever posted this is clearly just trying to make themselves feel special, nobody gives a fuck if youre female.
@@xlrbossshorts oh god im assuming your 12-17. Your definition of "adapting and becoming one of the boys" is the girl to just deal with it and laugh along with the rape threats and demeaning comments. Ive played siege, cod, val, csgo for years and met so many boys just like you. theres a difference between a lighthearted styreotypical joke and straight up misogyny. respectively.
@@xlrbossshorts Threatening to rape someone, being disrespectful and rude towards someone, harassing someone and making other misogynistic and concerning comments is "connecting" to you, and it's the women's fault for not "learning to become one of the boys"?
"You're really taking that serious haha?" Just goes to show that they seriously don't understand the consequences of their actions.
And the fact that the other people laughed when Sova said he'd rape you is fucking crazy to me. That is a sentence that should never come out of a persons mouth, joke or not, and every single fucking person out there should let a person who does know exactly that.
