Ideally, I think he should play as a receiver or decoy. And who said that he is the future quarterback? Who? If he believes he is too important to play whatever role the team asks of him, then I suggest he go into FA next year and see who wants him as their quarterback.

He's been in the league for years and never won. Use him in anyway you think he will help win this year and draft a quarterback, too many people are banking on someone who has never done anything in the league, Willson is a proven player and if he isn't successful then fields wouldn't do anything better

@@jonathanquinn7153 That's right. He believes (and some people) that he is entitled to be the starting quarterback. I don't know why? Numbers don’t lie. And his numbers as a quarterback says “I'm not starting quarterback material but I want to be the starting quarterback anyways” to me. I guess he thinks we don’t remember his quarterback play in Chicago. I certainly remember the last three years that his numbers were 40 touchdowns to 30 interceptions. These are numbers for a backup quarterback. If not, then what would be the numbers for a backup quarterback be? I think he should really rethink being a quarterback and consider the WR or RB positions. Hopefully, he can catch the ball. Otherwise, he will only embarrass himself. And to the people who believes he is a great quarterback already are in denial, and theirs dislike for Russell knows no bounds. However, little does JF and his fan club know that the Steelers are not interested in giving a quarterback who believes running the ball is the way to get the playoffs an opportunity to waste another season with such foolish play. Because the Steelers are not the Bears……
If Willson isnt the starter then they are loosing, but use fields in every way you can think, half back pass and such, but i see them drafting a qb first round next year

Let's be honest. It's Russell Wilson's job to lose. I can't imagine we will keep Fields as our QB next year, so why not let him play at QB, RB, WR and TE. He is a threat with the ball in his hands, not so much when he throws the ball.

Justin is QB2, and it’s going to stay that way.
Fields is competing with Russ. Russ is competing with himself.
Fields’s mindset is exciting but it won’t make him a starter if Russ is just better, which he still is. Fields had requested Pittsburgh when Kenny Pickett and Mason Rudolph were the QBs.
He wasn’t planning on completing with Russ, and frankly he’s nowhere near Russ’s level as a passer, nor does he play as well in the clutch. The Bears sent him to Pittsburgh after Russ signed because they knew he would wind up on the bench, which is where they want and need him as Caleb goes through his growing pains.
It’s crazy that people don’t understand why the Steelers became such an attractive option only AFTER Russ signed. They weren’t even looking in the Steelers’ direction. After Russ signed they not only sent Fiekds there but lowered their asking price significantly, essentially paying the Steelers to take Fields off their hands. They did that because they wanted him on another team’s bench, not starting as a franchise QB in his first year away from the Bears.
The idea of Fields displacing Russ is ridiculous when you examine the numbers.

If we were to discount Russ’s Denver years, Russ’s 3-year average stats would be that much better than Fields’s, and that would include two injury years in Seattle (2016 and 2021) that produced outlier statistics.

They don’t have to stereotype us anymore because we now stereotype our own. That’s why I’ve never been on board with Mike Tomlin style of coaching nor his philosophy in dealing with players. Because I thought the whole purpose of him sitting behind Russell Wilson was to learn the quarterback position and everything that comes along with that. Not to be some circus act for the general public. My advice to Justin Fields, sometimes you have to draw a line in the sand.
Bad advice. He can walk(or run in this case/be on the Field) and chew up experience at this point. Wonder what you'll have to say when he is used as Brees suggests and it works. Having played the game--like ALL who've been Blessed...you want to be IN THE GAME...ON THE FIELD--AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE. He has special talents... he will learn more by being in it. Must agree though...with those who don't want to see him returning kick-offs and punts. 'Hope that ain't part of the plan... 'did that in college and worst "souvenirs" I struggle with today are from those 2 things.

I AGREE WITH DREW BREES.... He's a football player. Disagree with "host"- Got him? Use him if it serves the team. I hope they DO use him a BUNCH of ways. The more both are on the field? The more I feel the Steeler offense will DOMINATE. Is he gonna run, is he gonna pass. Even as a wide receiver, he messes with defenses. Is he going in motion to take a hand-off or pitch to pass? Run... or back to Wilson. I think Drew Brees is is ON IT... and I suspect that is what Pittsburgh will do! This fan is ALL FOR IT 100 PERCENT! GOT HIM? USE HIM!

Fields is a second string qb right now. Drew Brees is not playing in the league and probably doesn’t know what Fields role is and neither do the coaches. Yes he can be used in qb situations but not a TE. Maybe a gadget play every once in a while but that’s it.
Hey guys, what do you think about Justin playing the cornerback position? On certain players.
Look the objective of an offensive line is to move the ball. So, I don't think Justin should play as a TE. But the role of a receiver in the middle of field to get short yardage. 4 and short, 6 and short.. In getting the first downs. Because we don't want him getting hurt.
Drew knows Fields and he is very plugged in. It’s funny that he also talks to Sean Payton frequently and seems to believe Russ should be QB1.
