Thanks mate. Your description for heating up the rear bushes was a life saver. I was able to punch those out as you described in

Hello mate,
I have a w163 53 plate.
Car was sitting for 4 months and battery died. I have changed but when I drive the gearbox will not go above 2 or 3rd, if you accelerate the revs just keep going up and up.
