@@ScottDore-jn3nf yes to be quiet honest it wasn’t looking very good there for a bit but things turned out as good as they possibly could, a lot or relieved people in the province today.
Always interesting. What the heck was that sausage casing of a fish!. I'm guessing that we were looking at a small iceberg near the end. Are you seeing more of them than usual? Thanks for the video.
man i miss shrimping I could go for a trays worth right now. catch them up so they make it to market here in Maine at some point. still won't be the same as eating them on the boat between tows but it will do
It’s on a angle, it’s like a ramp for setting and taking back the trawl, with out the ramp it would be very difficult to run the trawl of, the foot gear of the trawl is quit heavy. If the net drum was closer to the stern of the boat then you would not need the ramp but then be no space for the cod end of trawl to let out the shrimp, some older boats had this, especially smaller boats but then the cod end had to be passed over the top of the drum to dump out the shrimp but these boats didn’t have a shelter deck. Or you could also haul the cod end to the side of the boat and take it in that way. Different setups but this one works very well..
