I have an all-metal variant on this design, meaning no wooden or bamboo handle but it’s all one metal piece. Mine also has a spring-loaded rod that you push and it works to clear the clamp. Works great for dandelions and other weeds with solid centers, and I’m fond of it, but the learning curve included keeping it clean so that the extra “clearing” mechanism doesn’t interfere with the clamping action. With an occasional spritz from the water hose and/or some WD40 to lubricate the spring and other moving parts, I hope to keep using it for a while. Meanwhile, I’ve also had to work with sprays on the clover and “creeping what-cha-call-it.” Nice concise video, thank you!

I've been doing it the old fashioned way, getting down on my hands and knees for years and pulling them with pliers to keep them at bay and that technique has worked pretty well, but I'm getting old and after a few hours of that I am shot and it is hard to get back up on my feet.
