Only Gazza turning up pissed could make a life-threatening, serious situation bizarre to the point of surreal. That said, I know Gazza has had his problems and hope he's okay these days. As a young and impressionable young player, he just seems to have fallen under the influence of elements of the wrong crowd. Even as a red and white, I've got to say he was a genius with a football at his feet.
