Great video! We have our male galaxy betta in a 10g long and he absolutely loves it. Personally I wouldn’t do anything under 5g but bettas are known to be very hardy and do quite well for themselves in smaller spaces out in the wild. ❤

Great video! Just wanted to make a recommendation for beginners though, while 5 gallon tanks are easier to find a place for them in your home, the bigger the tank, the easier it is to maintain its cycle, therefore the betta would be safer with a beginner if kept in a larger tank. And lots of plants also help to maintain the water parameters of your bettas tank! 🌿🩵 I love that your tanks have lots of plants!

This tall tank fashion must be an american thing. Where I live we only have long ones since my grandpa's age, he was a fishkeeper too, it's family tradition.

So, I'm planning on making a vivarium with dart frogs and an active waterfall. The bottom of the terrarium needs to be raised about 2 inches for a false bottom. The specific tank is bought allows me to raise it 7 inches so I was thinking of raising the floor up 7 inches and having a betta fish live underneath. The area is a 24"Wx18"Lx7"T. Do you think a betta fish would live comfortably in these conditions?

@@mauriciomelchor756 I think a betta would need more room, and with the dart frogs, I don’t know if they would go well together

@Betta_Days how tall do you think it would have to be for the betta to be comfortable? Currently, the 24"Wx18"Lx7"T would be 13 gallons

@ I don’t think it’s as much of a space issue. I’m thinking more of the frogs and plants you’d be putting in there even if they aren’t in the water. I’d research if bettas are compatible with them ☺️

@Betta_Days I've read some threads where people say that they don't bother each other. The dart frog is terrestrial while the betta is aquatic. The dart frogs are captive bred so they dont have any toxins. The only threat anyone mentioned would be with the tadpoles. I wouldn't want the frogs to reproduce, so if the betta munched on any eggs, they'd be doing me a favor

@MapleA1c I get it! A bigger tank would definitely be better, but if your mom says no, and you can’t do anything about it then you’ve done everything you can! 🥺

I switched from a 36 gallon bow front to a 20 gallon long. I had a hard time reaching the bottom of the bow front because it was 22 inches deep. So the switch. My Betta has done nothing but hang out under the piece of driftwood since the change ! It’s been 4 months since the switch. He was not in the bow front for more than a few months after I bought him. He’s a green Plakat Betta, still less than a year old. Any ideas how to get him out swimming around. There’s loads of live plants rocks. There’s only a school of green neons 11 and 5 black neons, 3 white clouds. 3 Cory’s, 4 Ammano Shrimp .

The fish that are in with him could be stressing him out if he is in hiding all the time. I just rescued a betta who was in a 20 gallon with other fish for half a year. His previous owner talked about how he hid all the time, but since I got him and placed him in his own tank (5 gal), he hasn't stopped swimming around! He's the fastest and most active betta I've ever seen! Hope this helps! 😊

@@Betta_Days they maybe. But these are all the same fish that he shared the other tank with. Maybe I look bigger now since the bow front from inside makes everything outside the tank look smaller. Even my White Clouds are hanging mid to low , and the black neons , they used to hang in the front mid to upper are all hanging around the bottom behind the plants. I don’t think any of them have adjusted to the change.
