The always online requirement is really baffling in the trilogy and it doesn't even make sense for why it should be always online. The progression system fit with offline mode because this is a single player game. As you said, the biggest worry is that if the servers go down sometime in the future, the games won't be playable in certain areas. Now that they've gone independent, i still don't understand how they don't change this
HITMAN 1,2, and 3 are amazing games, they were just made in the most convoluted way possible, which really holds them back. Huge shoutout to modders so for trying to fix IOI’s mess-ups, especially in a game which has little-to-no modding support.
The online requirement is my biggest gripe with the modern trilogy, the Elusive Target system being the second biggest however the new ET Arcade mode is a step in the right direction and shows that the devs are open to experiment with the formula. Making them permanent DLC that you actually download would be better but it's something at least. Since I doubt this project will ever get ported to console for a variety of reasons, sounds like I need to get the games on PC at some point in the future.
If you don't care about achievements I know a Fit Girl who does this game with the peacock server built in, I don't mind downloading it as I've already purchased the game both on steam and epic so I've paid twice already for the same game which will become obsolete
One thing I never understood about IOI's logic aside from the whole server issue is Elusive Targets. They spent the extra time doing each and every one of them, adding new intro cutscenes, new dialogue, creating new NPC characters etc. just to allow players to play them like once or twice in a lifetime while also limited to one try. To make things even worse, like 70% of all outfits are obtainable exactly through Elusive Targets, so unless you started playing since day 1, you'll have a hard time catching up. It's almost like they made a singleplayer game and later designed it as an MMO
Yeah I can't stand that. There's no logical reason for that, except an amateurish "I went to business school!" mentality of introducing the "fear of missing out" as a marketing strategy to make people buy more stuff earlier.
@@jacksaints1 It’s more about the principle behind it. A piece of candy will taste good if you get it for no reason, but it would taste twenty times better if you had to climb a mountain to get it. the way that challenges are releasing now (one level at a time) makes it almost like h1's episodic release since i have time to finish all the paris challenges, then the sapienza, then holiday hoarders, landslide, etc. it's super fun tbh
Personally, I don’t see the servers going down soon enough for me to ever use Peacock. The reason the absolution servers went down was because Square Enix was running those servers and had no reason to support them after they dropped IOI. And I believe the reason IOI ultimately decided not to bring the servers back is because Absolution is the most hated game in the franchise so most fans really aren’t losing much by not being able to play contracts from the worst Hitman game. I also believe that if the servers ever do have to go down, IOI will just port everyone’s progress to offline mode and allow challenges and mastery without a connection. Whenever the servers do go down, if IOI decides NOT to fix offline mode right before they go down, then Peacock will probably be a pretty great replacement.
@@rdil Relative to the amount of content, perhaps, but it's not an optimal approach to game design - to bloat the install with data that the user can't actually use, when it's not even a multiplayer game.
IO Interactive is known for their Anti-Consumer practices for years now. -Comfusing episodic realease. (unfinished maps, patching them with time) -Exclusivities with PS5, exclusivities with Epic Games. (screw the customers and our fans, let's grab some money) -Limited access content that you paid for (Elusive Targets, Items) -Online requirement (If you go offline the 70% of the content is cut off) The list goes on and on. And IO wonder why the game is not selling as much. Customers are not stupid.
Hitman Absolution shutting down servers took away the only thing that made that game replayable/playable: Contracts. Finally you could play any level but start out with whatever disguise you wanted for new kills (Example was the courthouse mission, you could start out as the Judge). I know Absolution is controversial, but that was a cool feature. Glad the series started to return to its roots as well as the best parts of Blood Money.
It's not just about IOI servers not going down, it can be connection issues from your end. I personally have had many situations in life where I can't connect to online (connection issues on ISPs end, something happening to the connection lines, blackouts, router breaking down, maintenance in the apartment building, maintenance somewhere else, long vacation in a location without internet, moving to a new location and the ISP hasn't yet enabled your connection) and would spend my free time playing games. These might not seem that important, but when it happens, you'll understand. But when everything returns back to normal, you'll forget it how annoying it really was.
As far as we are aware Steam has a contingencey plan in place for if they ever shut down which should hopefully give everyone stable access to their games permanently without Steam being required. Problem would be being able to download them, I doubt Valve could afford to send out spare hard drives to everyone lol.

Just discovered Peacock now and it's come so far since this video, really amazing stuff! I never thought I'd be so excited to play a single player game offline
Internet requirement for a Single-player game is just dumb and makes no sense. They should give you the option too play full offline with all the content. Thank god Peacock is a thing. Funny thing btw, a developer of the game (Travis) said that Peacock is a "red flag", well.. i say IO is the red flag for this. I really hope they wont do the same for 007. The Episodic release was great idea and it worked, though they messed up with all those diffrent editions. They made things complicated for no reason.
Glad I found this video. Gonna try that Kill Everyone mod ASAP. Otherwise, given IO took Epic's money for HITMAN 3, would it have killed them to include a DirectX 11 option for Win 7 users?
I just hope that when the time comes when IO decides to shut everything down, they do a workaround on that online mode of some sort like maybe all the content you can't access in offline will become available, elusive targets being available again and so on. Though this is very unlikely because if that time does come, they may have already started development on the next hitman or is already marketing their new hitman game but yeah, kudos to the modding community as this trilogy is the best hitman version in modern platforms.
i rememeber one day after school i came home and my mom got me this random game HITMAN 2 silent assasin and man instant favorite years before i played the codename 47 demo i love this series
The recent World of Assassination trilogy which are all basically just one giant game are some of the most immersive games I've ever played. It's often been touted that Hitman is only third-person game to ever qualify as an immersive sim, I've always been fairly on the fence by it due to the linearity but this recent trilogy has started to change my mind on that respect. I actually completely discounted the new Hitmans when they come out as I tried one and for some reason I couldn't shut a door behind me that I had opened, no prompt, I now think it was a bug but at the time I just remember immediately becoming full of absolute blood curdling rage as I had been looking forward to giving the new games a try and then this was literally 5mins into the game and it was like ARE YOU LITERALLY, LIKE *LITERALLY* FUCKING KIDDING ME?! I turned it off and didn't go back. Sometimes great games get launched with absolutely bizarre design choices or features but something as simple as not being able to close a door behind you that you just walked through I was like oh christ if they've gone full idiot over something so simple as this I'm gonna cry seeing what else they've done, I just couldn't fathom the idiocy. I'm so glad it turned out to be not a thing when I later went back.
I mean, it worked for STALKER. Different fundamental problems (development hell vs DRM), same solutions. STALKER modder literally forked X-ray engine into 64 bit to get around hardware limitations as the decade rolled on

great project but "Downloads are available on Discord" is worse than that IO did... just put the download on the site, its not like im helping anyone by joining the discord and quitting after 15 seconds...
It’s a lot of effort to distribute it like that, it’s just a lot easier for us to have one place where you can get everything, instead of maintaining multiple download methods.
The elusive targets and seasonal events aren't that bad in HM3. They do cycle annually, so you can re-play them the next year. I know that's a long time, but it's better than them never coming back in HM & HM2.
Nah man it's awful. We pay money for this game yet loads and loads of content that we paid for is kept away from us. Maybe i could buy the yearly cycling content argument if this was a multiplayer social game, but as it stands there is no reason the game should cycle anything. If it is august and i want to play a Christmas themed event then tell me why I can't apart from an arbitrary limit.
Because they need the landscape and all the brain dead average gamers just throwing money at utter trash year round They can, so why wouldn't they? It's the average gamer that has got us here, they are so dumb it's painful
I completely agree with you on the limited content part, as someone who never got the chance to pre-order Hitman 3, I don't understand at all why IO won't make the trinity pack available again even though they made other pre-order bonuses for Hitman 1 and 2 available and it would be very stupid of them to not make it available again at all, I mean just make it a purchasable DLC for $5 or $10
Same here, the elusive targets put me right off from the first game. I play games when I want to play it, not when the developer tells me to play it. And if I'm gonna miss out on content because I don't know it's currently available, then I ain't gonna buy it.
@@Death-999 personally I didn’t focus on the elusive targets at all for hitman, the main selling point are the main missions, paths, stories and options in each level, escalation challenges, unlocks for gear etc
@@Death-999 I understand that casual gamers don't like the elusive targets but for the hardcore community this is gold. That's why they kept this mode throughout the trilogy, it's so damn good. They added the elusive arcade which are all the elusive targets mission that you can replay whenever you want. But you're kind of restricted because you have kill conditions. They just have to remove those conditions and the elusive targets problem would be fixed. But I really hope the classic elusive mode will remain exactly as it is, it's way too good.
@@Death-999 Go watch atrioc's videos, he's a streamer and hitman speedrunner. Him and everyone in his community absolutely love the elusive targets. IO kept this mode because many liked it. If it wasn't the case it would have been discontinued like the sniper assassin mode. For those who don't like it you can play those mission in arcade mode, why do you want to remove the elusive targets lol ??
I'm perfectly fine with Hitman needing internet connections for stuff like elusive targets or showing off game updates but holy CRAP why is progression locked behind an internet connection? My connection is constantly dropping, because I live far outside town, so I would like to play my cool single-player game OFFLINE and ALSO PROGRESS
When the community is 1000 times better at game preservation than the actual developer.. Sooner or later the serves will be shut down and unless they throw out an offline patch of some sorts, so that you won't lose your progress, then this is certainly the way of preserving the game for decades to come. Even if they throw out an offline patch in several years, i am pretty sure that a lot of content that we can no longer play from hitman 1&2 will still be unavailable, in which case Peacock is the way to go.
All the hitman games have been cracked, you mention in this that you need an initial connection and then hint it might be fixed in the future with an image of a pirate, but the games have already been cracked, so is it not currently possible to use Peacock on the cracked versions?
Peacock is currently only available through its discord server, and the vetting process is pretty thorough. They actively ban and reject pirates. Peacock does not support piracy. - A longtime peacock user and donor
The entire marketing strategy for these games has been an unmitigated disaster - everything they've done has annoyed the people whose money they want. The way they kept people waiting for Hitman 3 for so long, then released on Steam at full price after a year elsewhere (and didn't patch its performance issues) - the way they launched so many packages that even people who desperately wanted to buy it, didn't know what to buy - the elusive targets thing... ...I don't know who was in charge of making these decisions, but they should have been fired long ago. They've cost the company a lot of money, and a caused a lot of damage to the reputation of the franchise. They desperately need to rectify this utter mess by releasing a single, unified "Hitman: Complete Edition" or something, no packages, no DLC nonsense, just one package, make sure it runs properly, and unshackle it from its online nonsense - and make the elusive targets perpetually playable.
This reminds me what EA have done to darkspore, I never had the chance to play it and I want it so freaking much but without an online server it's impossible. I remember seeing a fan group focused in creating a offline one but they didnt upload any news since 2020 :(
I have seen a mod that added more regional voices to Hitman trilogy locations - for generic NPCs, naturally. This honestly sounds quite well in the trailers. I don't have the game, so I can't check, but it seems quite promising.
The game dont work unless im online, go on the game, then go offline, then im able to at least play it. Why cant i play it offline at all, i with i could get my money back
Wait peacock has kill everyone on it does this mean they watched big Mooney’s kill everyone challenge videos I didn’t think they where that popular enough to get a reference from ioi and the fan mod
Haha, no, obviously we're aware that he does them, but his videos were not factored in to the creation of the plugin in any way, it was more of just an experiment.
There is only 1 thing I hate and it's elusive targets not coming back. Apart from that. I love this trilogy and don't understand the hate on the game. Is it just bc a DLC or Deluxe versions seems to commercial? I paid for the deluxe, so I actually don't care. Bc I want my benefits I paid for. It would be unfair to not have any benefit over the normal version just bc some people wine about Hitman becoming commercial. Really, great game, great maps, great content, great deals except that I felt scammed with the 7 sins thing. Altough to be fair, It didn't seem that special. Not worth 30 bucks to me. Edit: Apparantly this video didn't complain about the commercialism, so ehm yeah. Sorry not sorry for assuming the content of the video before watching.
The offline thing is there, so that it is way harder to pirate the game and I accept that. My pc is connected to the internet anyways the whole time. But the other things I agree with
@@Giotsche Pirated version could also get access to all of the content. It does this by emulating the steam protocol which give peacock the go ahead, allow the game to be run completely offline.
I keep disconnecting every 20 minutes or so and it's so annoying, why did they choose to ruin the series? Why? ;(. I tried Peacock and one of the MAJOR issues is that there is no progression item/suit unlocking, everything is unlocked by default and makes the game so much boring ;(.
This game has a couple of flaws, namely when the npcs shoot you they never hit anyone else, their bullets go through crowds and the lack of blood also doesn't help either.
@@TJGM damn they should had kept it in, I wonder why they would remove it? it kind of kills the realism. After playing hitman 1 and 2, and I haven't played hitman 3 yet even though I own it, I think blood money is still their best hitman game.

Maybe i could buy the yearly cycling content argument if this was a multiplayer social game, but as it stands there is no reason the game should cycle anything. If it is august and i want to play a Christmas themed event then tell me why I can't apart from an arbitrary limit.
I am currently working on porting all older hitman games to Hitman 3. I am making a lot of progress! I am currently working on Codename 47.
How are you going about it? Using contracts or actually making mods?
@@TJGM making mods! It's a lot of work but worth it!
@@DemyKlabbers Anywhere we can check on progress?
Good luck by the way, hope it succeeds!
@@TJGM devlogs will be posted on my second channel being this one!
Strange how the biggest game companies constantly make the most absurd decisions
Because they need the landscape and all the brain dead average gamers just throwing money at utter trash year round
They can, so why wouldn't they?
It's the average gamer that has got us here, they are so dumb it's painful
I completely agree with you on the limited content part, as someone who never got the chance to pre-order Hitman 3, I don't understand at all why IO won't make the trinity pack available again even though they made other pre-order bonuses for Hitman 1 and 2 available and it would be very stupid of them to not make it available again at all, I mean just make it a purchasable DLC for $5 or $10
Trinity pack is available now on PC anyway
Plus, don't be a loser, never preorder ANYTHING
Only idiots preorder
These are actually the reasons I have never tried the Hitman series. Glad the modders are once again here to save the day.
@@mspat8332 I never heard of a single person say it was gold, so the hardcore community must be extremely small, or just consist of you.
I wish this worked on the xbox! The thing I honestly want most is the kill everyone mod! Its so much easier if u know where everyone is!!
Good stuff, thanks for sharing!
Any chance you know of a currently working ghost mode?
No problem! And yes, there is :)

@@TJGM Thank you! :D
I loved your video and your very soothing manner of speech.
Shame it'll probably never be available to consoles
Thanks i was searching for something like this
Peacock seems really nice, now to wait for an Microsoft Store release.
and I think if the company ever decides to shut down the servers it will just make every challenge available in offline mode so you would lose nothing

@@frankmav8013 There is no vetting process. Regards, the guy who used to do verifications
Sad how ioi couldn't even bring blacklisted elusive targets to the arcade.
this is actually sick. peacock is god's work 🙏
its time tis goes mid open world you cna take flights into new biomes into destinations and drive around ect would open the game up so much
This reminds me what EA have done to darkspore, I never had the chance to play it and I want it so freaking much but without an online server it's impossible. I remember seeing a fan group focused in creating a offline one but they didnt upload any news since 2020 :(
I’ve never had an issue with the servers it might go down but right back up?
Also If you don't have Internet, or its not working, or go to a place where WiFi doesn't reach or whatever.
I bought hitman to play on my steam deck. I don't always have wifi available. Finding out my game is useless offline really pissed me off
I really hope IO will patch the game to allow offline progression if and when the order to shut the server down ever comes.
I know this is stupid and it’s not worth asking, but are u able to install the peacock project on Xbox?
I hope in hitman 4, it can works in offline mode.
Is there a website or donation page I can send money to for developers who work endlessly to keep Hitman WOA alive with custom maps and mods?
I joined the Peacock Discord awhile ago, but dont seem able to find a download link
It’s in the #downloads channel. If you can’t see this channel, try DMing an admin or moderator to perhaps fix your server role.
does this give unlocks from stuff i don't own?
mainly talking about the sieker 1 from haven island and i don't have the dlc
No.

I would be more likely to pay for this game if they GOT MORE VOICE ACTORS.
I have seen a mod that added more regional voices to Hitman trilogy locations - for generic NPCs, naturally. This honestly sounds quite well in the trailers. I don't have the game, so I can't check, but it seems quite promising.
It's so weird hearing Kenny as every NPC guard
The game dont work unless im online, go on the game, then go offline, then im able to at least play it. Why cant i play it offline at all, i with i could get my money back
Wait peacock has kill everyone on it does this mean they watched big Mooney’s kill everyone challenge videos I didn’t think they where that popular enough to get a reference from ioi and the fan mod
Haha, no, obviously we're aware that he does them, but his videos were not factored in to the creation of the plugin in any way, it was more of just an experiment.
It would be cool if they added the biker suit in situs inversus
if i download and run peacock and get all unlocks, then run hitman without peacock will i still have everything unlocked?
No. Your profile on your local Peacock server is different to your profile on the IO servers. Everything is completely separate.
@@TJGM thank you! ill definitely check this out now
How about for Playstation and Xbox users? We console users are also players, too.
Can you use Peacock by playing through GeForce Now or Stadia?
No.
If only the could save the VR of it...
Me Who Plays Hitman on PlayStation:
Hitman 3 is a dying game that has no right to be dying
Ok so the one thing I don’t get is that hitman 3 is an Online game but it’s single player
man. i just want co-op for this game
Imagine playing with another player on the same mission
Peacock works in pirate hitman too?
Yeah, I wouldn't buy these games because of this. If modders or, better yet the devs, fix this problem, I might consider purchasing.
This game was doomed from start. Fuck IOI for scamming everyone.
Can you use this in ps4?
Online requirement literally is catering to people who care about getting the best scores
It should not even be a thing
Loving the offline mods so far.
So glad this is brought up but not enough it was a horrible decision with drm
I’m afraid that iOi is going to completely ruin Project 007.
MAAAAAAAAAAAAAN i wish they had gamepass support
The offline thing is there, so that it is way harder to pirate the game and I accept that. My pc is connected to the internet anyways the whole time. But the other things I agree with
So if the server shuts down tomorrow you will accept that? Not trying to be mean, genuinely wondering
@@mtndew4746 yeah that was also my worries. But we have peacock luckily
@@Giotsche Pirated version could also get access to all of the content. It does this by emulating the steam protocol which give peacock the go ahead, allow the game to be run completely offline.

Pretty much, although a lot of them were unnecessarily tedious.
I need the same program for absolution

@@rdil cool
I keep disconnecting every 20 minutes or so and it's so annoying, why did they choose to ruin the series? Why? ;(.
I tried Peacock and one of the MAJOR issues is that there is no progression item/suit unlocking, everything is unlocked by default and makes the game so much boring ;(.
Most of this is now fixed!
Wish it was on ps4
For a person like yours truly who plays portably, as in, i dont have a gaming pc i have a gaming laptop, this is going to be great
This game has a couple of flaws, namely when the npcs shoot you they never hit anyone else, their bullets go through crowds and the lack of blood also doesn't help either.
That's intentional. In early builds of the game bullets from NPCs would hit other NPCs, including the generic crowds.
@@TJGM damn they should had kept it in, I wonder why they would remove it? it kind of kills the realism. After playing hitman 1 and 2, and I haven't played hitman 3 yet even though I own it, I think blood money is still their best hitman game.
Thank you
