    Hello, I am curious. Is it possible to find a better longer lasting battery that the factory one? I tried searching but my knowledge of terminology is lackluster. Does more cells mean longer? Though I found a 6cell, it doesn't say anything about that. Any guidance would be appreciated, thank you,

    • @PC_Monkey

      With normal laptops, your best sticking with the OEM brand name stock battery. Other 'upgrades' can compromise performance and rarely work as long or as well as they claim. Best bet is to just keep your battery healthy by not having the power cord plugged in all the time. Batteries need to regularly discharge and be charged to stay healthy.

    Hi, thank you for the video. I I have this same Model Satellite but it's P55W-C5314. My question is, should I replace the battery since it dies in 45 min with full charge? I made the mistake of always leaving it plugged in since I connect it to a monitor. And I know it's not the charger because I replaced that recently and it still does it still dies quick and randomly. Also if I replace the battery, do you recommend OEM Toshiba Battery or 3rd party?

    • @PC_Monkey
      @PC_Monkey  4 года назад

      Yes, leaving it in all the time can damage it eventually. I think most of us do that until we are told what it can do lol. Yes, you should replace it. I recommend OEM brand name batteries. However, to be honest, I purchase a lot of generic batteries in my shop for repairs. Only about %50 of them work. I end up sending them back for replacements all the time. But they are way cheaper so its your call if you want to risk it.

      @@PC_Monkey E45w-C4200x (I think it's the exact one in this video). I also think I figured it out. I basically watched several videos to try & piece the info together. I undid the cowl to the top, popped off the digitizer, & got access to top portion of the hinge. Flipped the laptop over, removed the 10 screws holding down the bottom cover, & poped it off. The bottom portion of the hinge also had 3 screws but my concern was the wires. Apparently they're just housed in the hinge with 2 little teeth, nothing special. But thank you! I was worried the wires were fed through the hinge somehow & I would have to undo all of the connections in order to feed them out of the old hinge & into the new one, but no.
