Why are these guys so fucking cool man! I think I know why. If you know Lynyrd Skynyrd, thy lived these lyrics. And Van Zant was so cool. And the band could fucking play
This was the very first Skynyrd song that I ever heard.....My older neighbor Mike played it for me back in the 70's on his turntable .... I was blown away !!! Was a fan from that moment on....
Wish i could have been there. I was born in 94 and I grew up on Skynyrd and they sparked my interest in guitar. I feel as though I know them even though I have never meet them😭
Johnny decided to not copy his brother’s look by wearing a cowboy hat and be barefoot on stage. He wanted to be his own man even though look wise he looks exactly like Ronnie.
Man so pissed these guys came to jersey and played Asbury Park the sound was great,and I live not far I think it was one hour but I was still like 11 years old so I wasn't going to no rock concerts yet even if Don Kershner said it was cool..listen to the sound quality Asbury Park had perfect acoustic I can tell by listening to all these other u tube videos,this one has the best audio,surprisingly,and when I went down to see where it was I was like know way..
Man it was no super crazy guitar riffs in that song but I believe that was some of Romney's best vocal work his vocals really powered over all of the rest of music like vocal should,but in that song they were a notch above...I believe his best.to my ears.

What a damn shame: the rest of 77 and 78 and 79 were gonna be kick-ass years for the Lynyrd Skynyrd band. Just a damn shame!

Allen Collins always managed to write and play excellent, memorable guitar solos. The one from the middle section of this is no exception. AK.
Thank you for stating this, truly one of the most beautiful melodic solos to ever be laid down...it’s criminally underrated.
But Gary wrote this.

Ricky Medlocke has done an amazing job keeping Allan’s memory going just as little brother Johnny has kept Ronnie’s going.

Lest the examples we've seen Jet(AcDc) Greta Van Fleet (Zeppelin) it's always a few songs and it's never good enough to match the intensity;
I saw them around this time at Soldiers Field along with others at the Super Bowl of Rock series.
