You know the best thing about Heather? That despite being a strong female protagonist who takes into nightmarish hellspawn and prevails, she never ceases to be a heartbroken teenager who has just lost her father. She is truly human and thats what makes her so awesome
I think the way it ends in this fight really shows a few things: Heather had no time at all to mourn her father's death. What hurt her most is now that Claudia was killed in her pursuit of God's birth, and God was stopped. She now had a moment to reflect and mourn. While she won in the end, she had nothing left. But giving a proper moment to grieve. She got the strength to stand up and leave Silent Hill. And that makes Heather a truly awesome protagonist. One who isn't a cold-hearted brute with no emotion. This entire experience weighed heavily on her for a life she never asked for.
Sebastian Ranoch Well... I mean you aren't wrong. But anybody that has been through Silent Hill has to be a badass to overcome what they went through. Maybe its just the wording?
you honestly cannot be that stupid.... please take the time to actually look up the meaning of atheism.. yes it's based on the notion that there is no god, or gods, however it is a religion with that belief you idiot
You're the one who has no idea what you're talking about. Atheism is just a word which its meaning oppose to 'Theism' that means the belief in god. It's not a religion because they don't necessarily hold the same concept, thought, belief, or code. Each of atheist is just a normal human who thinks and believes in things differently, the only thing in common is that they hold no religion, hence, the opposite word, 'atheism' Get your fact straight. Oh, and another thing, "they believe there's no god, then it's a religion" what a fucked up misconception of the word "believe" you retarded. Belief is when you trust in something that has no proof or evidence to ensure your trust. We don't "believe" there's no god. Atheism just don't see god, so they say there's no god, it's the matter of judging the world by what it is, and how they see it, no belief, no random trust.
All of Ito's Silent Hill monsters are pretty scary but I personally find this one's appearance to be the most unsettling. From the paintings in the church the cult believes that when birthed, God will take the form of a beautiful woman. But from Heather essentially aborting it and then whatever Claudia thinks she's going to achieve, it really looks like something that should look one way, but hasn't been allowed to fully form. The way it has a face and kind of a torso but then this skeletal pelvis and what looks like stubs for legs, the way when it's attacking it looks almost like it's fallen over by accident. It even looks like Heather interrupts some kind of rushed ceremony with the way Valtiel drapes its face behind the curtain. And all of this interwoven with the symbolism of teenage/unwanted pregnancy throughout the game. This is an approach to horror, aesthetics and taboo subject matter that I think the original Silent Hill games will remain unmatched in within video games, possibly forever.
You know, I never really understood the whole connection with a religious order trying to force a pregnancy on a teenage girl, but it seems so relevant now. Valtiel transcends The Order by magnitudes but almost becomes a symbol of the systematic oppression they represent, which delusionally tends to the birth of inevitably monstrous situations. Heather entering the womb-shaped hole and killing a half-formed God is a symbolic abortion, freeing her future from the hell on Earth it would have been for everyone.
Oh Heather, making Horatio worthy one-liners after puking up a fetus and fighting God with a katana while chugging drugs. She really is one of the best video game protagonists.
And this is why this game always felt like the ending to me. I mean you finally confront this damn thing, the end goal of the entire Cult stuff, what it all seemed to be building up to throughout 1 and 3.

@@daderowley4514 The game doesn’t put it in quotation marks. It’s funny people like you pretend to have a clue what a god is or what it would be close to

Love how throughout the game we see how gentle and protective Valtiel is of Heather, but when Claudia becomes the new host he’s extremely violent with her. Almost like he was pissed at Claudia’s actions even though she technically saved “God.”
Silent Hill is more of the deepest parts of human's mind being brought to life. Basicly it forces the visitor to make self-realisation and either deal with their problems, or be crushed by their own subconscious. Or that's how it was in SH2. In every SH game the town acts little differently. Like in SH1, it has nothing to do with Harry, only Allessa. "They look like monsters to you?" One line which pretty much sums up it all.
This boss is such a pain in the ass. It took me forever to beat it. I actually had to go back to recent save files to get save for ammo and heath drinks
I dont think that is how it would have looked. I think it came out flawed like this because Heather didnt create it like she was supposed to. It most likely would have just been another monster the town looked up to but it would not have been a rambling half formed mess.
I find Claudia to be the most tragic figure in the game. Leonard, through horrific abuse, succeeded in molding her into a murderous zealot, exactly how he wanted her. She lived in pain and fear of Leonard and in guilt for every horror she perpetrated for his approval, and then died in despair and agony, despised by Heather, still to placate him. The abuser won. Vincent was incredibly astute when he described Claudia's zealous faith as "a child crying out for love." Faith WAS her "salvation," insofar as being a good zealot was what kept Leonard's abuse at bay.
"They look like monsters to you?" was a joke. Vincent said it himself. But yeah, everything else is right. The things in the town ARE monsters, incarnations of your inner turmoils and fears.

@@Naaaijan my theory was a demon who been summon by cult and turn Silent Hill into nightmare, but then getting stop by someone, makes more sense than actual god who looks like wants to destroy earth
Technically it's an Incomplete God since it was born from Claudia after Heather took it out of her. That must've weakened God considerably, and then after being born in the wrong host it became... This.
Well its also because they are using the katana stun lock. If you use the katana you can pretty much get any enemy permanently stuck in a lock with no way to fight back til its dead.
It was exorcised that's why it's not fully formed and powerful. Like incubus in the first SH, it was also exorcised that's why it got out of the vessel's body earlier than the expected.
Hmm, not very high stakes here. This being that the Order has been trying so hard to awaken was just murdered by a high school girl with a katana and a hand gun. Even if it went on some sort of rampage in a city, a few cops would take it out.
Well, one the god was barely born. Two, this god came at a time when guns were not around. So, it was powerful back then, since it was very strong. Proof is that it could take several bullets and survive as shown here. But, of course, a gun is gun, and it is powerful.
+lilb1190 you stupid? you think this is the actual god they wanted ? it was weak, hense why valtiel was covering its eyes, he knew it was going to die soon
It's interesting that the stuff Heather swallows from her pendant is the stuff Harry found in the normal Hospital in the first game and didn't use to save Cybil because the true ending was where Cybil died and Harry had that stuff to give to Heather.
In the end, the Heather has been carried that "thing" inside her around the entire game being birthed, as the final boss. And, what is the biggest fear of teenage girls? -Getting pregnant & have a baby. Thus why the demonic 'God' look like that. Fear always come to live in Silent Hill... -_-
I love how every comment is like this boss is so easy. It actually is not, try playing it for the first time with few healing items and it is hard as hell, also he has the katana and prevented it from using it other attacks. But what really matter about this game is symbolism.
***** Well that sounds lovely for a fantasy novel, but I doubt that has anything to do with humanity besides the fact that we have a lot of imagination.
How come the final boss didn´t bring any fire up from the floor? I completed this game quite recently and the boss would emit semicircled fire from the floor.
Given all the yonic imagery in this area (Claudia falling down a suspiciously-shaped hole, the markings on the walls), I think this thing isn’t supposed to be the deity worshipped by the Order, this is its unborn form, and you’re essentially fighting it inside a grotesque womb.
Have you played the game? The whole point is that the "God" is immature, since Heather puked it up. It was never born as it was supposed to be. It's essentially a fetus. The hole in the ground represents a birth canal leading into the "womb" where God resides. Who knows what would have happened if it had actually been birthed properly?
Otkusi Sebe Chlen I dont think you can kill god. One. They are immortal. Two. They are not human. Three. They do not live the way we do. And why am I listing these? Im religious. Lol.
why was there a second of play time to just walk on the hole and cut into another cut scene, why wasnt it just one long cut scene. sometimes I dont understand game creators at all.
@Lain Yeah, the really were the best in the series. But other enemies like Schisms and the gameplay...sigh...it's a shame. The story is pretty good for a spin-off (despite recycling elements from SH1 and SH2) , the soundtrack is stellar, enemy designs are great, bosses are at the top of their game. But the gameplay, controls, movement and optimization of the game.
I died so many times trying to figure out what I was supposed to do (eat the pill in the necklace) they gave me the option of a lesse-than-beginner difficulty. I killed God in 1-2 shots. It was ridiculous and unexpected.

"How powerful can a god from a dump like this be?"
Beretta's marketing department should get a load of this.
lilb1190 A angry elephant could probably do more damage.
+lilb1190 you stupid? you think this is the actual god they wanted ? it was weak, hense why valtiel was covering its eyes, he knew it was going to die soon
@Gerry Buckets It's more like they exist in a different layer of reality and these realities can converge with each other
puny god.
It's interesting that the stuff Heather swallows from her pendant is the stuff Harry found in the normal Hospital in the first game and didn't use to save Cybil because the true ending was where Cybil died and Harry had that stuff to give to Heather.
Anyone else catch how the god looks like Alessa? Almost looks as if Heather is breaking away from her past life.
I didn't know fetuses could be expelled through your mouth...and that "Gods" could be slain spamming R1-Wait a minute! Is this...Bloodborne?!
In the end, the Heather has been carried that "thing" inside her around the entire game being birthed, as the final boss. And, what is the biggest fear of teenage girls? -Getting pregnant & have a baby. Thus why the demonic 'God' look like that. Fear always come to live in Silent Hill... -_-
Last time I checked that's not the biggest fear of teenage girls. Far from it.
Doge Dog Sorry my bad... :/
It's actually ONE of the teenage girls's biggest fear :)
Jeff Daly What is it?
@@MisterJohnDoe getting kidnapped and you know the rest...
there is a lot of sick people
@@dantedare2797 As a teenage girl, it's certainly up there
I love how every comment is like this boss is so easy. It actually is not, try playing it for the first time with few healing items and it is hard as hell, also he has the katana and prevented it from using it other attacks. But what really matter about this game is symbolism.
right, this boss is not easy at all. fucking nightmare on hard
Listen to that organ play! xD
5-on-3 power play!
good song
NOOOOO THE FIVE SECOND RULE
You were not supposed to eat it after it's been on the floor for more than 5 seconds!
this is why girls take so long in the bathroom
A GOD WITH LIMITATIONS CAN NOT BE GOD!
Brick B!tch Those are limitations.
All gods from every culture before christianity had limitations, christians just wanted to have a Mary Sue and Mary Sues sucks.
***** Sounds like god brags a lot about his own power because is terrified that someone discovers his weaknesses.
***** Well that sounds lovely for a fantasy novel, but I doubt that has anything to do with humanity besides the fact that we have a lot of imagination.
***** Certainly, everything looks very Lovecraft, all ideologies seems to fall into madness eventually.
God invented Demonic Twerking...
How come the final boss didn´t bring any fire up from the floor? I completed this game quite recently and the boss would emit semicircled fire from the floor.
The player character was in melee range the entire time. The boss only emits fire when you're out of melee range.
"You can't be dead. I was going to kill you!"
I like you Heather, you've got spunk.
They just call it God but its the Ancient Demon of Silent Hill, this thing creeped me out when I first saw this!
How can she vomit up the fetus? The womb isnt connected to the mouth.
Aglaophotis, my friend, aglaophotis
lmao!
my guy are you really looking for logic in s i l e n t h i l l
"You can't be dead. I was going to kill you." For some reason, I love that line.
It takes half an hour or so on hard mode. This person must be playing on easy.
Disgruntled goth Girl or cheat
Don't even remind me of that, I spent a whole day sitting doing the same thing until he was killed lol
@@icybite7342 no need cheat on easy mode
**throws a box of dreams into the fireplace and orders a box of nightmares**
you'd be surprised how many mythological references games can have.
Heather katana mode: im god
You'd think with a character called 'God' they'd make her battle more interesting, eh?
It's an unborn fetus. You expect a baby to fight?
Zencann I mean, there've been plenty of swole fetus' in this franchise
So you expected god of war style boss battle huh!
Well, that was easy. TOO EASY for a final boss that's supposed to be 'God'.
This guy is probably playing this on the easy mode. That's why.
It was on easy
Wykletypl i died so many times on hard difficulty,it's actually very frustrating fight.
Silent hill 3’s entire game just seems like a fever dream to me lmao
A whole bunch of kids are like "Oh, slenderman is so scary!", and then I show them this game.
just killed god, feeling good *walks away like a main character*
1:42 DAFUQ!!! DID SHE JUST EAT IT!?
+Andrés González Bruh! 😂😂😂
Bet it's finger-licking good
swallow it not eat it.
a fetus what else? still waiting for more dead baby jokes in the comment section...
Given all the yonic imagery in this area (Claudia falling down a suspiciously-shaped hole, the markings on the walls), I think this thing isn’t supposed to be the deity worshipped by the Order, this is its unborn form, and you’re essentially fighting it inside a grotesque womb.
it isn't a god if it can be beaten by guns and some melee attacks
Have you played the game? The whole point is that the "God" is immature, since Heather puked it up. It was never born as it was supposed to be. It's essentially a fetus. The hole in the ground represents a birth canal leading into the "womb" where God resides.
Who knows what would have happened if it had actually been birthed properly?
it's the antichrist f ynhvguhjvk
Ofcourse not. The only way a god can be beaten is by not being a religious fucknut. Pretty easy.
Otkusi Sebe Chlen I dont think you can kill god. One. They are immortal. Two. They are not human. Three. They do not live the way we do. And why am I listing these? Im religious. Lol.
walkinglord5 gaming You are. So ? Only proves my point futher.
The worst part about this is that I'm watching this while my family's listening to Joy to the World in the background.
Sounds like a game Freemasons tended to imagine about their goddess worship
why was there a second of play time to just walk on the hole and cut into another cut scene, why wasnt it just one long cut scene. sometimes I dont understand game creators at all.
guessing there's other stuff in the room to play with or they thought it would scare people giving them the option to approach the hole or not.
MrAnimepredator maybe...just maybe...to prepare your shit and inventory befor you entre the final fricking boss
Felipe Gonzalez you mean to say that there is fairness in japanese video game? damn.
MrAnimepredator haha some do apparently
I was expecting an awesome battle. But that was the worst boss ever... just sat there and took the beatings.. what the hell
It's a retarded God.
But the gameplay, controls, movement and optimization of the game.
it's unfinished, so it's logical and intended
I cant believe she ate that while it was liying on the rusty floor.
Heather puking it up is one thing, but when Claudia swallowed it, that's where I started getting squirmish.
I died so many times trying to figure out what I was supposed to do (eat the pill in the necklace) they gave me the option of a lesse-than-beginner difficulty.
I killed God in 1-2 shots. It was ridiculous and unexpected.
just an average Saturday night in Silent Hill
8:01 HOLY SHIT, A BABY'S CRY
You can tell Capcom took some influences from the lore and designs from this game and implemented them to RE8 Village.
Heather pissed she didnt get the chance to kill Claudia herself is so iconic
Heather is basically Mary if she had a choice
