Since many of you have asked about an Orthrus fitting, here's an extremely fast Orthrus build. It's not easy to fly, but it's cap stable, has a decent DPS output, and is quite expensive. I somehow feel like prices in EVE have increased like hell over the years. Or maybe it's just me? What do you think? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments!
I first played Eve in 2009 for a year. Checked in around 2013. Then again now. Gotta say, A LOT has changed, not including isk price. My Hulk was originally ~100m isk, now its over +350m in most hubs.
yes, thats crazy. If the player count had grown proportionally like the isk, it would be maximum fun right now. However, that's not the case. I believe if we subtracted the double and triple accounts, we would be surprised by how many "individual" players are left who actually play the game.
I should get more into implants. I have avoided them because I am the very person who will do something stupid and lose them. Thukker batteries are so great, I love them And light missiles too, rapid lights do my nut though. "Always fly what others don't." There's a great mantra
The price increase you're noticing is mostly attached to pirate hulls. Their components have become expensive, whereas navy issue ships can provide comparable, solid performance for a budget -- which makes sense, thematically. They're navy issue and meant to be cost-effective, as they're expected to stand, fight, and die while trading well on a broad scale (including economically). Pirate hulls are still great, but definitely not cost-effective, and are an 'all-in' option, best paired with a blinged snake clone for extra performance and decreased likelihood of being caught.
Hi, I started playing in 2008. A battleship cost around 150 million upwards, a battlecruiser 50 million upwards, cruisers were from 15 million upwards and destroyers and frigates were throwaway prices. HACs were from around 125 million and assault frigates around 25 million. Marauders were as expensive then as they are now, but only the Golem was used in large numbers. When T3Cs were introduced they were over 1 billion and far more powerful than they are now. CCP has nerfed so many ships and raised prices due to their bosses incompetence in trying to start other projects and so they try as hard as possible to get the players to spend as much money and time as possible on the game.
The price gone up because the parts to make the ship, went up. Im very interested in your build, and speed, as I have snakes and a buncha combat boosters. Thanks for your hard work. I fly the hookbill, with over 500 confirmed kills, many solo.
@@ThisisAmi-Eveonline-xi8fb Maybe Ill see you out there! I do have some HGs. My current main, is an Android of doom in game. You inspired me to fly in a new way, and Go fly with my best friends again. I miss my friends
I created one. I have my implant slots filled with HGs already, and ended up short on power grid. So I took off a missle, but cold I go 8500 m/s. And that's no boosters yet, cold.
Modules, especially those around cruiser sized have raised in price but the use of the abyss has raised some cruiser sized modules to ridiculous amounts. I used to fly a 500m 100mn Vagabond and it was not an amazing ship but it was good for it's price then it went to 700m and it was really pushing it but now the price is about 1.2-1.4b and it's just not worth it any more and I no longer fly that fit at all.
Yes, the inflation in eve prices is quite high. I'm an econ nerd, so before I even started playing, I was digging into those monthly economic reports on eve's website. It _looks like_ CCP believes in the bullshit idea that inflation is good. Quite annoying...
Been playing EVE on and off for over 8 years, inflation has always been a thing. In my experience or maybe my opinion (just based on what I remember) items that must be purchased in LP stores that are gated behind low/null security status systems have the highest prices. These items aren't actually difficult to farm and it's possible to farm them safely but few bother to do it and fewer want to. I used to farm things like this, many of that LP was spent on the inserts that are used for an edge in PvP. The reason for the high prices (again in my opinion) is the associated risk, the lack of demand (alpha characters usually don't have a use for these items and, if they did, they can only use the lower tiers that aren't farmed in the same way), and finally there's the stuff that has the demand but not the supply (pirate faction ships can be pretty slow to farm on your own so it's normally larger groups controlling the supply. The only other things with very inflated prices are just plain difficult and risky to farm (locked behind wormholes) and the stuff that's locked behind Planetary Industry (especially the industry that's locked behind null/low/wh). All of this stuff is expensive for good reasons and, in my opinion, bad reasons. Basically, I think these prices inflate because few groups control the supply and because Alpha players don't have much demand for it. This leads to the market being controlled by people with money and those who buy also have lots of money--both of these groups have also stopped valuing money in the same way. I'm sure you understand that already though. Personally, my enjoyment is no longer in earning ISK and I've also dropped out of a lot of these trades and groups because it's not as fun as other options available to me. By the way, thanks for sharing your fit, was always curious what the top speed was.
Noice ehp of a tanky frig my frau XD 25 sec align time/700 sig radius I think someone will greet you with a nado at some point :D but keep on going. I believe ;)
I'm very curious about how you afford all those implants, injectors and bling fits. Do you farm with your Ami character or do you use your main as some sort sugar mommy for this alt? I'm also curious to hear your take on isk making. Love this series btw, keep up the good work!
Bro. Looking at her stats, she in an anomaly. Fully deadly and capable. Her stats are even higher than mine, and I hit pretty hard. As to the answer to your question, it could be anything. I got my boosters from selling skills, fighting for Caldari state, and investing. The cost for boosters and implants is high, yes, but is worth it.

Hi loving the series. Hopefully you can help solve my confusion with your build. I think You said you are getting about 449DPS without overload? I skilled up for this build and I can only get 353dps with the same implants and no drones. I have gone through each item in the build and trained up to 5 in the requirements to get the best out of them. Any thoughts on what i could be missing? And what drones do you use, if at all, with this build? Any ideas appreciated!!
Hi, added the same implants and the video as well. I have managed to get to 370 but still very short. Very strange. Will keep working on it 💪. Looking forward to the next episode 😀
Sis, you should get even small neut in high. always some module to get dmg from overheat(which will give you more overheat time on guns) and if they will use brain and some ceptor, you will have neut pressure on him.
Actually an empty slot dissipate heat better than a non-empty slot if the module is online (if the module is offline it counts as an empty slots in the heat dissipation formula).
yea. prices got up. i feel like there are more people ganking everywhere, thus grabbing ressources for moneysz by solo players has decreased significantly. corps are loading up and stockpiling for something i cant comprehend yet.
I think the reason that Prices are getting higher over the years is due to the player base getting slowly Lower and lower. this means less people getting these bling items to sell them, making them more wanted and more expensive
Paper numbers may seem very nice, but that brick align makes this fit totally useless. Even if u can theoretically always fight at max range (~50km) you will yeet yourself every time when trying to maintain point range. Not to mention it has no tank, so any light missile ship or even fits with long range ammo on short range guns can sometimes kill you when you turn, because you will lose so much speed. I would be highly impressed if you could kill anything with this outside of total n00bies who have shitfit and panic when other player enters the grid. Interested in seeing this in action in a future upload.
Constant newbie fitting mistake is to be obsessed with cap stability in a PvP ship. In a PvE ship it matters. With this fit you could easily replace about three modules with a cap booster which will keep you going for longer than any reasonable fight while giving you two modules and some rigs for more DPS and tank
