Half sheet cake pan for a quarter sheet cake. How smart! The crumbs on the side was the right move.

Loved your video. Wish I could take classss in your kitchen. I struggle with buttercreams as using nuttelex, has high water content and doesn’t hold shape well as it warms up. Vegetable shortening only available at specialist bakery shops so inconvenient unless planning well ahead of time.
I'm digging the old-school style of this cake. My roses always look like flat cabbages. 😊 Toasted coconut makes another good edge-embellisher. Are you going to show us that freezer that's "literally bursting" with frozen cake scraps? 😅

Nice!!! I sometimes think about decorating cakes again. Haven't done it in 25yrs. Probably have to start at the beginning all over again. 🤦🏾♂️🤷🏾♂️... I think the cake crumbs looks good on the side better than sprinkles or confetti. I love this video and would love to see more like this. Thank you!!❤

I no longer use shortening in my buttercream recipes all vegan butter for me
its beautiful ..just got hired in bakery at a grocery store.. made the mistake to say place me where you need help now i'm a apprentice cake decorator.. i'm watching every video i could find. i only bake for church carnival

Great! You're welcome & thank you too! Yes you can freeze cakes & cupcakes but typically I just freeze the un-iced/unfilled layers & naked cupcakes

when i tried to go vegan, i thought that i will have to say goodbye to a lot of baking recipes! I was subs to your channel before you made it vegan. And then when i saw you had transformed your blog and youtube vegan i was so happy! I learn alot of things from you, like the aquafaba with chikpea, on your blog how to make vegan caramel,( i even ask you a question abt the caramel on your blog, wich you answer quickly and kindly) and many more!

So if the recipe says it can make a 9x13 would it make one sheet?
Yes that's correct! Then (as shown in the video) I would take that 1 sheet (also known as 12" x 18" sheet pan) and cut it in half to make 2- "quarter sheets layers" and this is how I got this cake here

Are sheet cakes becoming popular?
I am not so sure they were never NOT popular. In my bakery we sold hundreds of sheet cakes a weekend! From 1/4 sheets to full sheet cakes. It is the most economical & easiest to serve & transport and when you are serving lots of people it is definitely the way to go!

Yes you can! Your cake layers will be slightly thicker but that's not a bad thing!
