- We grew up on these in my house. The salmon patties wasn't much, but it's something about simple ingredients put together in a no fuss way that gets you hooked every time. Enjoy this quick video and make you some salmon patties tonight.
Let me know in the comments if you enjoyed. Хобби
The salmon is flash-steamed, and the bones won't harm you. They pretty well dissolve while mixing.
Wow, cornmeal...ive never used that in the patties before...i always use instat potato flakes or just boiled potatoes but i will definitely try this cornmeal...perhaps this seasoned fish fry and just hold back on the salt. Yours look delicious ❤🎉
Having these for supper tonight
thanks hon! I'll try to make some I got a couple cans from the food pantry. and thank you for getting straight to the point and keeping it short!
Yep, cook mine just like this. Gonna try grating the onions instead of chopping. Also, will try adding the parsley. Good video, old school.
Awesome ! Yes, grating the onion is so quick and easy.
Thanks ❤ imma single man just moved in my house and been craving this!! I can't cook but thanks to you mine came out nice!!😂❤
Hope you enjoy ! Congats.
Even though I’m a soul food old school cook, I love watching these videos at 54 years old thx
Looks delicious. Actually you don’t need alot of salt. Salmon in the can is slightly salty anyway.
Great tips….thank you for sharing
Canned salmon is so much cheaper than fresh. Great recipe.
wonderful I can't wait to try it!
My favorite sides to go with salmon patties is buttery mashed potatoes, sautéed spinach, cooked apples (with butter, cinnamon & nutmeg) and biscuits. I’m getting hungry just thinking about it😊
Thanks for your recipe first time cooking them ,always loved them they turned out great ❤❤❤
Thank you for the refresher ❤
Lovely.
Thsnk you im 68 and made some for my family today. Grew up on these .🙏🏾💓
Thanks luv,my mother cooked them this way, loved them! ❤
You are so welcome. Mama knows best❤️
Thank you for sharing your recipe. I had leftover portions of canned salmon (in water) and sardines (in olive oil). I combined them for my patties. I make salmon cakes often but I like trying new ideas. I was very pleased with the results from using grated onion and the cornmeal. I think they improved the flavor and texture of my patties. I served with Basmati rice and Normandy vegetable mix. Dinner was a success! Thank you😊
Great video. Easy to understand and to the point. For that reason I just subscribed.
Looks so good! I have to try this!
Great video! Looks delicious 😋
Good job girl!!! Love this.
Thank you 😊 ❤️
Looks easy and delicious😋 Thanks for the video
My pleasure, thanks for watching 😊
Been making this for years . Doing this with CARP, as well as Salmon, and you can hardly tell the difference . I use Italian breadcrumbs, and/or any variety of crackers, instead of flour and corn meal. If you pressure cook the carp ( 100 minutes @10 pounds pressure per quart) then the bones will be soft enough to mix right in with the patties . A pinch of lemon also gives it a nice flavor, as well .
Mmmmmmmmm makes my mouth water
Looks really good. You are giving good advice as you cook.
Thank you so much. I glad the details help ❤️
Good job looks delicious
I’m excited I love a good crab cake but now I feel mor confident to try may hand at a salmon patty 👍🏾
You should try them. Salmon Patties are inexpensive and equally satisfying.
Hi! I enjoyed your video… I found it looking for a salmon patty recipe! I made them tonight and used seasoned breadcrumbs in place of flour and cornmeal… they turned out yummy!!! Thanks for your idea!
I always use corn meal in my patties, so I knew your recipe was 💯!
Awesome just like my mama use to make 😮
You give a great presentation thank you💯🌹🙏💘
Thanks so much & yes I'm making 'em
Love your video u get to the point
I made this recipe I enjoyed it. I like the corn meal instead of bread crumbs or saltines thanks so much it gave it a nice crunch!
Will try it. Like to mix in a few more things.
Good video. I cook mine this way also. I just make my patties a little smaller. 😊
I enjoyed mine on a buttery biscuit with spicy mustard.😋
i fixed these twice...and I am not a good cook. Thank you for the post...they were delicious
Ooh! I love the addition of parsley. I usually use dill when I have it. I’m gonna try parsley next. Also excellent tip about flipping them away from you. 👍🏼
...i love mixing in parsley!
👏🏾👏🏾 Alright ,heffa. Thank you.
Awesome Amen just made some I know how to make them I just want to make sure that it was better than I made them last time
Well done 5 stars ;)
I'm making with mash potatoes gravy and peas
Wonderful video
Thank you 😊
I just LOVE Southern girls. They know how to throw down in the kitchen. 😍
Yes, we do!! Thanks!
And on the flo, on the flo
@@wecountingmoneyoverhere2517 I was just saying that earlier in the day.. haha
Just like my mama used to make with the rice oh yes
This is similar to my moms recipe back in the days which is good, but I like Italian bread crumbs instead of corn meal and flower it will help reduce the carbs to aroun 6 grams per pattie and 1/3 cup is suffient to hold it together
Okay thank you I will keep that in mind. There is always a need to reduce carb intake.
You have no business making salmon croquettes if you're talking about reducing carbs. 💯 lol. It's a comfort food.
Mane you country as heck, I know you from the dirty south 😂 good video ❤
I like to eat these for breakfast with grits too
Grating the onions is a grate idea -,-
Excellent video. Just do it... Than you.
I make mines like this but to top it off I squeeze some lemon juice on top of my patties and put Tabasco hot sauce 😮💨🔥
You don't have to remove the bones or skin that much more. calcium
It’s totally personal preference
Naw, i have always removed those bones. That’s just how the older people i know do it.
Im 77, I remove the skin sometimes but not the bones .
Yes the hell you do. I always remove the bones and skin.
@hdeniro1106 you have your way and I have mine
😋😋
😊
I kinda wanna use green onions for this.
I don’t have cornmeal. Can I use grits?
I keep it all
Can salmon, seasoned fish fry, eggs and a pinch of salt and pepper!
Sis is it 6 minutes total or six minutes per side?
Per side
I'm confused did you mix once the egg was in
Yes I cracked the egg directly in there and blended it up
Don't have corn meal or flour will it turn out ok?
Crackers work good
Our Dogs or cats were happy to eat my mistakes. LOL 😎 ❤
Why do you remove the bones that has all the vitamins in it and nourishment and they don’t hurt you?
It’s a texture thing for me
That walmart brand is the best......sometimes they actually put real fish in there with the sawdust
Bro what 😂
Wild Caught 👇
My mother used to make these when we were kids, always loved them ...still do but I'd have to make them, mom's gone (😢) and they won't taste as good as hers. We ate ours with grits..
Pink salt. No limit
The worse burn of all is caramelized sugar or a hot candy burn. It is dangerous because molten sugar binds to the skin and very difficult to remove.
I know how to pronounce "salmon." If I mispronounced it, it was due to being tired and possibly brain farting the name of my mom's former doctor.
Jack mackerel is tastier than salmon and cheaper, a more stronger taste!
noo don't remove the bones.. best part. you cant even tell once you mash em..
Don't like that slimy skin so I remove that and 🎉❤ the bones as well.
No recipe no help can't subscribe with out recipes
What does that even mean. The 14oz can of salmon is in the thumbnail (the picture of the video you see before clicking on it) She said add seasonings and onions according to your personal taste. Add 1/4 cup of cornmeal, a tablespoon of flour. Form into patties and fry in oil on medium heat
And one egg as well. I said the same thing. The video is literally walking you through the recipe.
U need a bigger skillet...2 crowded
I grate my onion and use the onion and the juice. I use cornmeal and about a half a teaspoon of baking powder. When my Boy was little, he called Salmon Patties Stinky Meat. My Mom always served with Mashed Potatoes and peas, as do I.
