I love how season 6 ties back to season 1 structurally. They both start with a two-parter, then a Kate episode, then a Locke episode, then a Jack episode - then in season 1 the sixth episode was about Sun, and in season 6 the episode is titled 'Sundown'. I just find those little things really neat

People misinterpretation of Kate's motives makes me kind of sick. Kate went to check on Sawyer to make sure he's not going to kill himself or something. Kate when back for Claire (flashsidesways) because she felt guilty and realized how much she screwed her over. KATE CARES ABOUT PEOPLE! She's not trying, at all, to "BE WITH' Sawyer.
THANK YOU! Kate is honestly one of the most compassionate characters on this show imo, but people seem so blinded by their bias against her that they shape even her most kind or just plain innocuous actions into something bad. Her character isn't perfect by any means; she's incredibly flawed, just like all the characters are. Nearly every single one of the characters has behaved just as selfishly as Kate ever has, but for some reason, the 'selfish' label is only ever applied to Kate despite how many times she has helped people or risked herself for others.

They will literally defend and make justifications for other characters except Kate. Sayid's fake death doesn't quite work, the Others are back to doing mysterious Other stuff for no reason and it turns out you shouldn't trust them, it's more of the same old crap all over gain. Some of it needs a rewrite. Instead of being mysterious assholes, it would have been nice if Dogen gave us a few answers, and tried to convince everyone that Sayid needed to be killed before he became a threat to everyone's safety. It's not the right time for all this Other-y behavior, and Hogwarts and Jeremy were exactly right to compare it to Juliet's debut. It's season 6, it's time for answers, not more mysteries and deceptions.
The temple stuff is not great, and that's coming from someone that loves season 6. A lot of these problems could have been solved in season 5 but no one wants to talk about that.
If I was rewriting Season 6, the "Temple" wouldn't be like this at all. They'd step through the cave to find some technical and futuristic looking control center-ala Westworld. The jarring transition would be very intentionally reminiscent of the Season 2 Hatch reveal. Nanobots would try to save Sayid, etc. We'd also get front loaded with a few more big answers earlier in the season.

I gotta say this even though some of the people will criticize me for it. Ever since season 5 specifically last episode and that debate with Jeremy... the reactions have become more annoying and less infromative... as in... remember how in earlier seasons Brian would find small clues and details in the show and showed those to us? Like numbers on the cheerleaders or the police cars with the numbers on them? Yeah me too... those days are gone. And now all that we see is Hogwarts raging about how annoying some people are or about how things that Kate asks Claire in the sideways are weird. I for one never felt that way about those new people at the temple or about Kate. Maybe because I grew up with this show and I watched it as it was released... but times have changed and you can't evaluate characters based on this century's mentality. Having said that, I'll still watch the reactions till the very end and I will enjoy them, but I'll have a sour taste in my mouth knowing why I chosed these reactions in the first place, and what have they become over the course of the time you guys posted them here. I'll not demand change or stuff like that, hell I'm not owning the reactions, instead I'm just making some points here and there, because every once in a while we need to reevaluate ourselves and find new ways to improve ourselves. Isn't that what the show's about after all?
Brian, fan of the show, remember his glee as he introduced it to the rest of the crew, season 1? Season by season, mostly due to watching schedules, too many shows watched together, after hours, feeling sleepy and then big gaps between recordings, Jeremy and Hannah started slipping away. They are not into it. They missed the momentum. Hannah forgets, Brian tells her, and she's "oh yes" but it goes under the rag. Has Brian realised that he has "lost" his crew?

I remember when S6 first aired. Spoilers I hated the flash sideways and as soon as they introduced the temple and the others there, thought to myself, yeah those are the new characters that are going to die. It was following the recipe for a really bad horror movie sequel. You never care about any of them and only care about who survived the first one and what they are going to do. This includes all the Ijira flight folks and Charles Whidmore’s associates.
When dogan said it happened to.claire but claire never died as saeed did.... Why nobody picked up.on that.. Also in my opinion ..things like "He has been claimed" and it happened to your sister" are said just to create confusions
this is where the series gets really stupid spoiler: they never explain how Sayid came back to life, -- and don't say "he was claimed" because that doesn't explain anything -- dead is dead they never explain if Claire also died and came back to life, they never explain how shocking and burning Sayid was a test for being "claimed" they never explain how he failed the test they never explain how the smoke monster was kept out of the temple -- ash ? LOL, so they had enough to surround the entire temple ? they never explain how the temple people or Claire got their food ? Dharma drops ?? they never explain why some of the others are in the temple and some were with Ben -- how do you get chosen to go to which group ? wouldn't the temple people get jealous of the ones who live in the houses and have kitchens and bathrooms ? and it only gets worse

I'm not a huge fan of the temple stuff in the beginning of this season, but damn, the rest of the season really makes up for it.

In season 4 when Keamy etc blew up Claire's place at the barracks, that's when she was claimed. She wasn't the same after that.
