the funny thing is to go to all that trouble ribbing the tinsel for durability and then use ostrich for hackle. good video tho. i like pine zonkers.

Looks like a fishy fly but that tail must hang up a lot.
There is potential for that for sure. I do fish this a lot and it really isn't an issue. Thanks for watching!
A bigger problem is the short takes. So keep the squirrel zonker strip piece about an inch or so long. If it's too long and you get short takes, you can still cut it shorter on the stream. I've done it.
