This fly produces consistently for me anchored and under an indicator, or trolling on a sink tip or full sink line. Excellent versatile pattern for searching a new lake
that's a nice fly ! The size 12 scud hook is the perfect size for this fly, if you go bigger you don't have enough maribou, if you go smaller your fly is too small (though you can go smaller)

I notice Superfly has a strung marabou in both Salmon and Salmon pink. Is this color you are using one of these?

Would ostrich herl also work for the body of the fly?
