I am Jewish. I went with a friend to Ohio to visit his grandparents who lived on a farm; his grandmother was a minister. On Sunday I went with the family to their little church in the wildwood and to my total surprise in the middle of the service his grandmother introduced me and said I would decide on the hymns that day. I had no problem doing that because I always loved sacred music whatever the religion. This was the first song I chose. After the service we went back to the farm for Sunday dinner and I asked the grandmother why she even thought I would know any Christian hymns and she replied, "I just knew." I knew this song because,, of all things, a recording by the Andrews Sisters, who did a sacred album for Decca Records in the early 1950s. I was a big Andrews Sisters fan and chose for my stage name as a singer Jim Andrews.

This was one of my mom's favorite songs + Rock of Ages. She died three days after she turned 60 and the vocalist sang them both at her funeral. I remember sitting at her feet when I was little and she was rocking my little sister singing these great hymns. I hate a lot of the new age music they play nowadays I miss the old ones.

this song has been in my heart since 1967.... however the joy it brings to my heart has caused MANY fist fights with other children and WORSE TEAMMATES in sports who dont know WHY i was happy ALL the time. and so not wanting to injure a "teammate" i stopped playing sports, i stopped school, i ALMOST stopped living (I was born and raised in California. WHEN I was able to be a truck driver and worked for 10 years OUT of California and all 48 states in 2006 I felt as happy with life as when i was in 1966 BEFORE going to school. HIGHEST point was 2016 with the election of Trump. but when my mother died I had to stop doing all 48 states to be close to my wife and father in the SF bay area, and the old oppression nearly crushed me in march 2020 and I KNEW what was coming in nov 2020..... THIS and many other OLD hymns and SINGERS have re-ignited my EDUCATION and SOUL and helped me pass my happiness to others.... though doing so has meant upsetting others to the point of violence against me again here at nearly 60. BUT i can gladly wearther this storm FINALLY with the help and experience of my memories all ALL 48 contiguous states. GOD BLESS THE USA!

Wonderfully done! I think of my Mom that passed away over 25 years ago. I couldn't listen or sing this song in church without crying. Now I sing it while I work in my garden, especially when there is dew on the roses.

Having discharged from the Army while in Korea in 1969, I worked with Navigator ministry. One early morning while having my quiet time with the Lord, this hymn came to mind as i beheld the dew on the grass all about me.

One of my favorite Christian songs. Teary-eyed. I really felt how Ms. Anne performed this hymn... It comes from the heart.
this song has been in my heart since 1967.... however the joy it brings to my heart has caused MANY fist fights with other children and WORSE TEAMMATES in sports who dont know WHY i was happy ALL the time. and so not wanting to injure a "teammate" i stopped playing sports, i stopped school, i ALMOST stopped living (I was born and raised in California. WHEN I was able to be a truck driver and worked for 10 years OUT of California and all 48 states in 2006 I felt as happy with life as when i was in 1966 BEFORE going to school. HIGHEST point was 2016 with the election of Trump. but when my mother died I had to stop doing all 48 states to be close to my wife and father in the SF bay area, and the old oppression nearly crushed me in march 2020 and I KNEW what was coming in nov 2020..... THIS and many other OLD hymns and SINGERS have re-ignited my EDUCATION and SOUL and helped me pass my happiness to others.... though doing so has meant upsetting others to the point of violence against me again here at nearly 60. BUT i can gladly wearther this storm FINALLY with the help and experience of my memories all ALL 48 contiguous states. GOD BLESS THE USA!

They is just that way naturally, don’t you think? However I’ll come right over if’s they dares to critize Ms Murray here cause I believe she means everything she sings, don’t you? By the way, another one of my favorites is the late Andy Griffith and his recordings of good old gospel hymns. ‘When the roll is called up yonder,’ he does especially good! Wonderfully done! I think of my Mom that passed away over 25 years ago. I couldn't listen or sing this song in church without crying. Now I sing it while I work in my garden, especially when there is dew on the roses.
I experience similar feelings, and often shed a tear or two. You and I can be certain our dearest ones are singing this beautiful hymn in Heaven and we’re hearing Angels. Having discharged from the Army while in Korea in 1969, I worked with Navigator ministry. One early morning while having my quiet time with the Lord, this hymn came to mind as i beheld the dew on the grass all about me.
That was my daddy's favorite hymn...he's been dead since I was 14 and now I'm 71.. thank you..I got a lump in my throat..beautifully

@@bobbydwajam522I am of Welsh descent and I did not know this! My grandfather was in the Welsh revival before coming to Canada. He sent for my grandmother whom he met at the Welsh revival, once he was settled here. I loved his beautiful accent and listening to him speak and sing in Welsh.

I was spending time with my heavenly Father and this song came to me as it often does, and I had to sing it from Him. I just got stuck on the last line of the last verse!
This was my grandfather's favorite hymn. I moved into my small RV in 2021 after the death of my husband. I named it Andy because Andy walks with me, Andy talks with me. Andy tells me I am his own. ❤
