I am 74 and remember singing this song in church choir as a young girl. It was my favorite. Then when I was about 60, my late husband and I bought a farm on 5 acres. I planted tons of flowers and several roses. In the early mornings if it was nice, I would walk out to the garden and sing that song. I didn't care if anyone heard me, just wanted Jesus to hear me. It is still my favorite hymn.

I was just thinking about how my dad was MIA when I was a child. I was crying, healing tears, and this song came on. He is walking with me. Praise God. no bitterness towards my Dad. He did not have a childhood. He worked away from home as a child during the depression. I am my Beloved's and He is mine. His banner over me is love.

This was my grandfather's favorite hymn. I moved into my small RV in 2021 after the death of my husband. I named it Andy because Andy walks with me, Andy talks with me. Andy tells me I am his own. ❤
This is my favorite song. I love Anne Murray’s beautiful rendition. I am planning for it to be played at my funeral so my mourners may rejoice that I am in the Garden.
This was my grandmothers favorite song. It was sung at her funeral, when I was 16. Unfortunately for me, because of her death, I turned against God. I have suffered in it out of the alcoholic lifestyle , areas of my life that I am extremely ashamed of. About 10 years ago I feel on my knees in my kitchen and begged Jesus to come into my life. I realized that I had never sought repentance. Mainly, because I never thought I needed to. I was perfectly capable of taking care of everything myself and believed I could do nothing wrong. The past few years have been spent reading the Bible, studying the Bible, praying and seeking his true guidance and perfect path. I am richly blessed because I have lived my life long enough to have turned around and understood why we are here on this earth. I love my Jesus, and I am looking forward to his soon return. At 72, I am grateful beyond imagination that I am living this abundant life, and able to go back into his garden!
Thank you Lord Jesus for walking and talking with me, for being my childhood company until now am sixty three years young, thank you my HEAVENLY FATHER for loving the whole world that you gave your only begotten son, JESUS to die on the old Rugged Cross, so that whoever believes in you should have EVERLASTING LIFE. Thank you Lord Jesus! Hallelujah!!!!!
I come to the garden alone, While the dew is still on the roses; And the voice I hear, falling on my ear, The Son of God discloses. Refrain: And He walks with me, and He talks with me, And He tells me I am His own, And the joy we share as we tarry there, None other has ever known. He speaks, and the sound of His voice Is so sweet the birds hush their singing; And the melody that He gave to me Within my heart is ringing. [Refrain] I'd stay in the garden with Him Tho' the night around me be falling; But He bids me go; thro' the voice of woe, His voice to me is calling. [Refrain]
I am Jewish. I went with a friend to Ohio to visit his grandparents who lived on a farm; his grandmother was a minister. On Sunday I went with the family to their little church in the wildwood and to my total surprise in the middle of the service his grandmother introduced me and said I would decide on the hymns that day. I had no problem doing that because I always loved sacred music whatever the religion. This was the first song I chose. After the service we went back to the farm for Sunday dinner and I asked the grandmother why she even thought I would know any Christian hymns and she replied, "I just knew." I knew this song because,, of all things, a recording by the Andrews Sisters, who did a sacred album for Decca Records in the early 1950s. I was a big Andrews Sisters fan and chose for my stage name as a singer Jim Andrews.
Jim Andrews: Wasn’t that a wonderful experience? I am Protestant and appreciate your wonderful and often turbulent Jewish history and heritage. As we notice even today people of faith are still being persecuted. I have been gifted with the dearest of friends who were Jewish and shared some very beautiful occasions with me. Several survived the horrors of the holocaust. I loved them so much, they share a spot in my heart and inspire me. Peace, friend. Elizabeth
Hello Jim. I am a messianic Jewish person meaning I know YESHUA as THE MaShiach. Isaiah 53 tells of a suffering servant who was despised, rejected,, a man of sorrows and a man of grief. HE was wounded for My transgressions, bruised for My iniquities. Pierced. And with HIS stripes I am healed. Brought as a LAMB to be slaughtered.. He didn't say a word. No greater love has a man than to lay down HIS life for HIS friends. AMEN!!! Shabbat SHALOM 🙏
And God tells me too that I am his own. He talks to me too. He talks to me so much I find it hard to tidy up my place and I find it difficult to ignore him. And he walks with me and talks with me and he tells me I am his own. And the joy we share as we tarry there. None other has ever known. I adore God in a way no one has ever known.

Thanks Anne for a beautiful and moving rendition of a beautiful old hymn. I’m in my 70’s and have enjoyed your singing immensely from back when you first started. Thank you again.
As a Presbyterian minister, her comments touched me. This is an old familiar hymn to older generations. Comforting and lovely and her rendition is perfect.
God of infinite time remember these tender words as if they were just spoken today .This is Anne's statement of her true heart to ever be with you Father. Let it be so BY THE LOVE OF CHRIST JESUS.
On this "Mother's Day", the first one for me since she passed, this was the song she loved the most in her religious studies. Anne Murray does such a wonderful job with song. God bless us all.
It's a hymn that I used to sing to myself when I went to the farm. When my granddaughters visit my farm, I hope that this hymn will flow out of their minds without their knowledge.
Grandad, your words hit all the right notes. I'll be the never-stopping hummer of this song, always carrying the dreams you've planted for us. Thank you for the lovely present to open before Christmas!
Wonderfully done! I think of my Mom that passed away over 25 years ago. I couldn't listen or sing this song in church without crying. Now I sing it while I work in my garden, especially when there is dew on the roses.
I experience similar feelings, and often shed a tear or two. You and I can be certain our dearest ones are singing this beautiful hymn in Heaven and we’re hearing Angels. My mother always had a small bouquet of roses ready to share. I love you, Teresa, wherever you are. Keep the faith til we meet one glorious day.🙏🏼 elizabeth

@tilliemaekirk9444 I am the granddaughter of Welsh grandparents who met during the Welsh Revival! I too grew up hearing and singing this hymn! It is almost 4am and I have not gone to bed yet! I was spending time with my heavenly Father and this song came to me as it often does, and I had to sing it from Him. I just got stuck on the last line of the last verse!

This was my late husband's favourite song from his childhood. I played it on his memorial service in church eight years ago. Every time I hear this song plays I miss my husband dearly.
This was one of my mom's favorite songs + Rock of Ages. She died three days after she turned 60 and the vocalist sang them both at her funeral. I remember sitting at her feet when I was little and she was rocking my little sister singing these great hymns. I hate a lot of the new age music they play nowadays I miss the old ones.

Incredible song Barron Trump is singing that makes every listener has important and meaningful message to each and everyone. Congratulations!
As a Presbyterian minister, her comments touched me. This is an old familiar hymn to older generations. Comforting and lovely and her rendition is perfect.
Why did we stop singing this hymn?
God of infinite time remember these tender words as if they were just spoken today .This is Anne's statement of her true heart to ever be with you Father. Let it be so BY THE LOVE OF CHRIST JESUS.
Right there with u preacher

Beautiful old hymn, lovely rendition.
On this "Mother's Day", the first one for me since she passed, this was the song she loved the most in her religious studies. Anne Murray does such a wonderful job with song. God bless us all.
This was one of my maternal grandmother s favorite hymns. I remember standing beside her singing this hymn. Precious memory
Praise the LORD JESUS CHRIST ! Amen.
Beautiful rendition ! God bless !
Her voice is absolutely golden. Hearing her sing these words are so soothing and comforting. I love her (and, Jesus, too!).
A real Blessing to hear Anne sing this one of my favorite hymns during a very unsettled time of my Christian Walk. Thankyou Anne.
"I Love JESUS... and HER too 🙏 ..... !"

Absolutley Brilliant
A really spectacular Christian song from a spectacular singer! I've never heard In the garden sung any better!
I really needed to hear that today!!!!
Here I am listening to it again! Beautiful!
Call me old soul, I heard this song during my grandma's burial and I just had to learn it. Never left me❤
Wonderfully done!
I woke up yesterday with this music in my head. I feel blessed now😇
Makes me cry
Wonderful voice which goes deeper into my soul. Thank you Anna.
This song has deep meaning. Far more than a physical garden. I am thankful God had a man write a song portraying the value of this experience.
This is my brother singing this song for his new wife. He died in February, 2023. They were married for 67 years. It was truly one love for a life time.
I wish i were in the garden with her chorus with her.
Anne.. a forever classic.. with a so lovely hymn.. I listened to this to remember my little brother who adored her singing..No wonder that he did!
I use to sing this song in church with my twin sister. She is so close and yet so far away. Always in my heart ❤️
Wouldn’t it be something if our Lord has a special joy different from the joy he shares with everyone else?❤
This is a beautiful hymn and Anne Murrey sang it best ! God Bless us all ! I'm 61 and I've heard this song many times by various artist along with church choirs its a beautiful song !
Another great sermon in song.
As the Granddaughter of a Welsh Presbyterian Minister , this song has been in my soul for a lifetime too, thank you for posting this beautiful version.
I am a Presbyterian from the khasi tribe in Meghalaya a province situated in North eastern part of India and as a tribe we owe a lot to the people of Wales and the Presbyterian church for coming to our Hills in 1841 through the work of Thomas jones a missionary whom we honor him as the Father of khasi alphabet ,we are also grateful for bringing the Gospel which has a positive transformation on our society

I love the song
@@bobbydwajam522I am of Welsh descent and I did not know this! My grandfather was in the Welsh revival before coming to Canada. He sent for my grandmother whom he met at the Welsh revival, once he was settled here. I loved his beautiful accent and listening to him speak and sing in Welsh.
I like this song so much ! Whenever I listen, I sung along with her and I really felt that it is so real and he literally walks with me, oraise the Lord @ Haleluiah !
Omg! She does this so beautifully! God has truly blessed her with the most magnificent voice! She brings joy to so many with her unique voice! Sweet wonderful lady with so much class! Very elegant!
Hi Diane hope you’re okay?

A wonderful song. ❤❤
One of my favorite Christian songs. Teary-eyed. I really felt how Ms. Anne performed this hymn... It comes from the heart.
Every Sunday at the Nursing home I worked in a wonderful man would come to play the piano and sing hymns for the patient s. we would all join in. It was the highlight of the week and in the garden was our favorite. Still is my favorite at 80 years old. ❤❤
I have Always Loved Anne Murray since the early 70's. I Love " In the Garden" . It is my #1 Funeral Song when my Time Comes...First One as a Child, even before starting 1st Grade. Probably 3 or 4 yrs old. I am 64 now. And Unless Jesus Comes Back First, this will be it.God Bless You Anne, and God Bless All...
Hello Cheryl 👋 , how are you doing today and how is the weather over there?
IM 78+ NOW THIS BEAUTIFUL SONG MAKES LIFE JUST A LITTLE EASIER TILL I GO HOME
That song becomes my favorite, since the time I heard it, a High School student on late '60's.

Thanks Anne Murray!
This song deeply touched me and I feel real with him (Jesus Christ) along with this song
This was my late husband's favourite song from his childhood. I played it on his memorial service in church eight years ago. Every time I hear this song plays I miss my husband dearly.
The words to this lovely hymn just touch my very soul. It brings tears to my eyes each and every time that I hear it.
Hi Vicky hope you’re okay?

As a young baby and child I remember my Mom singing this song to me often
My Mom died a few years ago. This was her favorite hymn. I suddenly realized I had not shared that with anyone. No one else in my family knew. I got to the luncheon and could not find it. I have no idea why I did not ask my SIL who is a Preacher’s Kid. I figure she knows I wanted to play and sing it. I am a pianist and music teacher. Love this rendition!!
The luncheon was after the funeral service.
