This!! All of the videos I have watched show installing wood strips horizontally - which I’m not sure how the drawers would hold any weight (my cabinets are not built with high quality materials). Thank you for putting this together. This make perfect sense and I will feel much more confident that the drawers will function well and last 😊

I like your shirt supporting local food banks. And, it is a very informative demonstration.

Great Video. How do you know how deep to put the screws for the 4 vertical strips? I have several cabinets that feel very thin that I want to add double roll out trays. I get the base install roll out trays, but your video is the first I've found that shows vertical mounts.

It's a matter of ease of finding versus space.
Do you lose a considerable amount of space when you have to build out the wal in order to put the sliders on

Hi Travis. Thanks for this video and installation instructions. Which mounting style did you choose to install these shelves. From the video, it looks like you opted for Side Mount (with spacers) ?
Also, what should be the dimensions of the vertical wood strips ? Height I am sure should be the Height of the cabinet space. What about Depth and thickness ? I believe you video mentions that each strip was 6" divided by 2 = 3" in depth.
    Kindly confirm. Thank you

Hi sorry for the delayed response, yes the side mount with spacers. yes 6" but actual measurement is about 5 5/8" so I cut that in half. each space was about 2 3/4". As for depth and thickness that will be determine but your cabinets. I measured the face of the cabinet from the side of the cabinet. I stood the piece up and ripped it on a table saw to get the exact piece I needed. The height was about the height of the cabinets interior.

A featherboard for your table saw will help you keep those long cuts pressed next to the fence. Making your own drawers will save you a LOT of money.

I’ll have to look into getting one, yes I am sure you are correct. You can build your own for much less. Maybe I’ll give that a shot.

Oddly enough, my house came with a double door deep pantry and adjustable sliding shelves on the side of my refrigerator like you show. I don't like them... too many steps to get at anything they contain and things are hard to get at in the back of the shelves (even with the pull-out feature, as the cabinet is 24" deep). Two hands are required to open both doors and pull out one or more shelves, each and every time I need access and its too easy to bang the shelves against the door(s) if they are not closed fully.
I'm converting both cabinets, upper and lower, to full pull-out pantry units where the door is integrated with the shelf carcass and it then has internal adjustable shelves, using extra heavy duty soft-close drawer slides (275 lbs.). Two slides at the bottom and one at the top to keep it from racking. One action required to open the whole thing and you have access to all contents from the sides, which is way more convenient... especially when unloading groceries.

Sounds like your plan would be a huge improvement to your current cabinets with the double doors. Anything that requires 2 handed operation is far less efficient.

My cabinets are deeper than this and the sliders at the hardware stores are too short and I don't know what the builders used. Where can I purchase longer slides?

Hi Patricia. If you can't find the right length then make a double pull out with 2 short ones by stacking each drawer on a flat shelf placed underneath each drawer. When you pull out your shelf it will come till it ends but then keep going because of the shelf under your drawer that will continue the flow of movement.

I looked at shelvesthatslide website, they have drawer glides that can be order in 2" increments from 10 inches up to 32 inches. You can find them here, maybe something like this could work for you. www.shelvesthatslide.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=HB430

Maybe I missed a video where you took measurements for and made the slide-out shelves.

Unfortunately I did not include the process of obtaining the necessary measurements required to order the shelves. I followed the Shelvesthatslides measuring instructions that can be found on their website. You can find their measuring guide here www.shelvesthatslide.com/do-it-yourself.htm#Measuring%20guide

My goodness those are expensive pullouts, the joinery was piss poor, look like simple rabbit joints, I would be curious to learn if they lasted a year.

They have been installed for well over a year and perform the same as the day I got them. I couldn't be happier with them.
