Christianity has core elements of actions having inherent meaning, and the importance of compassion- but a lot of it gets lost in the church's traditions and.. just all the fear built into them. Like lost in the 'be good now and don't go to hell later' is the maybe more important: be good now so as not to create hell on earth. Idk though. It also can't hurt to drop religion for a while. God, by definition isn't going anywhere, after all!

And am thinking of doing some research into other beliefs, or to which I might just choose not to be religious at all. Finding the path best for me has been admittedly scary yet very freeing!
Hello, I have been only a Christian for a year. When I was an Atheist I thought the Christian faith was a blind one, and that He was a mere “skydaddy”. However, after digging into the faith, this assumption turned out to be false. The Greek word transliterated “pistis” is the word used in the New Testament that is translated to “faith”. The connotation of this Greek word is not one of believing blindly, but based upon reason, trusting in the evidence God has revealed Himself through. The Biblical faith is not a blind one. “Always be ready to give an answer to anyone who asks you to give a reason for the hope that you have, but do so with gentleness and respect.” - 1 Peter 3:15. You raised several questioning objections such as why the faith of Christianity is the only one that leads to God, and about the Bible being written of mere men. Would you mind discussing the existence of God, and then the troubles you have about the faith? Also, beautiful lady mantis. Jesus loves you. I hope you return, and if you do come back to Him, know His arms are as wide open as they were for me. God bless.
The kind words are appreciated ! Though politely, and respectfully I’ll have to decline. Christianity , the evangelical kind just isn’t right for me right now, and I just need some time away from it while doing research of my own! 😊
