- This is kind of Antique American style Meat Cleaver made of High carbon steel or Hard steel but have some serious cracks in it. It is a hand forged chopper cleaver. The handle was missing so i restored the blade and made a beautiful brass-wood handle for it which really feels good in hand. The final product look incredible and useful for use.
I did my best in it and hope your best in results. Please like and share the video. Share your valuable opinions in the comment section so we can grow more and do the best for you.
Antique Handmade Meat Cleaver | RESTORATION
I showed the whole procedure for restoring this chopper in this video.
o. The liquid i used to remove RUST was SULFURIC ACID.
o. Crack was filled with Iron welding.
o. Forged it to put some beautiful textures on it.
o. I used sandpapers of different GRITS to make the blade on my Belt sander.
o. Brass casting was done for the HANDLE to look more enchanting.
o. Dark colored wood was used for making handle.
o. For Hardening the blade i used my own handmade METAL MELTING FURNACE.
o. I used clear paint to shine the wooden handle and Brass was shined by special brass polish.

That has got to be the ultimate hand cutting edge for the user. That curled back sharp edge in front of the handle is a sure thing for a good cut.
I know you’re getting lots of hate but I personally love the hammer “holes” you did through out the blade and overall just amazing job with the handle and I’d personally buy that thing any day
Don’t pay attention to the haters- I think the finished product is super awesome! Very well done!
I personally don’t like how frequently you use brass in your handles but I did like the half and half you did with this one. I’ll give u a 5/5 on this one
Nice and all, but I don't care what size hand you have...you didn't file that sharp shit off enough...it's going to cut your pointer finger if you hit anything with any resistance...
Beautiful work. That meat cleaver is now a work of art. It is truly something to be proud of. I’ve liked and subscribed.
The handle is the only thing well done
Excellent work
Nice work
Great job!!!
Great work!!!
You r back, i thought that you stopped this thing.
nice.
Why didnt you cut the styrofoam and cast the bolster seperately? It would have been much easier then casting one Part and cut it up. As far as I know, cutting brass with a hacksaw can be a pain in the..... Nonetheless nice Job!
He was going for the whole nakari Japanese knife look I get it
Faz uma karambit
Which acid you are using?
*M E A T C H O P P E R*
The sand paper was kinda unnecessary I don’t think it was at least and why did have water on it and sound like you were riding a scooter on the sidewalk
I think you ruined the blade when you hammered holes in it...
Hammered billet holes in it? He drilled holes in it. Or do you mean hammered poch marks in it? It was heated red hot and oil cooled after all that.
@@zippy1981dotnet Call them poch marks if you want.
I think he trasferred some kind of smallpox to the blade.
I think he trasferred some kind of smallpox to the blade
I personally like the grind technique where people indent the spine of a knife with grinder marks or sander marks. I first thought they where just heavily rusted areas but they're hammer marks. Anyways if they weren't all over the place they might look better.
Pretty nice just kinda wish the dents in the blade weren't there
It’s a hammer forged finish
Garion Prak Call it whatever you want. It still looks like a fat woman’s cellulite covered ass.
Adds character
Adds an antique look.

i like to imagine the ghost of whoever owned these blades are like what the hell are you doing to my blade??? Wait! It looks so much better! I feel so rich!
So ..the video was fine until you started beating on the cleaver after the forge, and leaving in those marks this ain't a restoration..this is more like a half assed facelift.
Oh yeah? Thats a hell of an opinion, how about you go out and do better
Mister Vash In my opinion it gave a cool looking texture. At least he did something different, I'm a bit tired of seeing the same old thing for each of these restoration videos on youtube
He did really well. He had to fix the crack in the steel thats why there was all the mess with the forge. The marks give it character and it shows that the blade was hand made. If you can show us better then please do.
Ha Ha Hehe
The blade looks so ugly then the handle so beautiful
It's like beauty and the beast
@Chango Chilemba why Katy Perry ? i rather crack it into Justin Biebers skull
Chango Chilemba I would put it in the arms then legs then head of Paloma rblx cause she made fun of TWO PEOPLES DEATH SAYING THAT THEY DESERVED IT AND THAT THE FIRST ONE (WICH WAS A 14 YEAR GIRL WITH CANCER ) WAS MEAN AND TRASH AND THE SECOND (CREATOR OF EG AND SNO DAY) WHERE MEAN AND HIS GAMES WHERE DOWNRIGHT TRASH

the blade got hammered into oblivion
That's so it doesnt crack
Using the ball peen of a ball peen hammer for forging?
no, this knife have plague marines from Warhammer 40K
Now your just pissing on us and calling it rain.
I think he trasferred some kind of smallpox to the blade
Very unique look with the hammering next to the sharpness of the edge. Enjoyed watching the process and the finished product.
Thank you
So cool! I love the handle with the two claw bits on each end and the hammer marks across the back of the blade. It looks so rustic and antique while still providing a very useful tool.
Beautiful work! Sometimes a piece seems lost, but it can end up turning into a true work of art. Congratulations!
Why is every random blade you restore always happen to be some kind of butcher's knife?

you guys are so mean, what's all that for? chill down a bit. i kind of like the blade, granted i prefer something less beat up but i'd buy this. the brass handle worries me but i wouldn't be using this one tool to hack at something that may possibly provide too much of a shock. you just need to be less rude and mean because that makes you look like envious twats.
nice work.. i've got 2 problems with it though.. that little tail extending over the index finger is a nightmare to use in a busy kitchen, cutting yourself pretty much garanteed and the second problem is, after all that work, there's still a big fat chip right at the heel of the cutting edge... otherwise looks nice
I really just watched this guy use a hacksaw to cut wood...
Nathanel Graves it hurt my soul to watch it
I do it as well sometimes. It leaves a nicer finish. But I use it only on small pieces.
There are tons of hacksaw blades available for many different purposes. There's a blade for finished/treated wood vs raw wood. Blades for ceramics and glass, different blades for different types and qualities of metal. I've also noticed some manufacturers make different ones look alike for marketing purposes. It's impossible to look at that blade while in motion to determine what its purpose was as the quality/recording speeds are too low to get a picture of the teeth.
That's Awesome 👏🙌💯😊🆒🙌💯😊 Sharp 💞 Knife 🔪 Ever 💥👊 Pretty Good
Antique huh? LMAO love these "restoration" videos of things people left outside to rust on purpose to make a video. I guess it feeds the beast.
Atleast it is good

what a coincidence! this piece of ANTIQUE has very familiar handle shape
good sir! what ARE you implying!?
Is it SUPPOSED to look like you beat the ever loving s*** out of it?
I love this channel! Honestly, of all the knives he's treated, this is the one I would love to have in my kitchen.
Gebial! Dan ganas de hacerlo jaja una pregunta, tenés alguna medida para la forja? Es decir, cómo sabes que ya está listo para el aceite?
Swear these negitive comments are unnecessary and stupid, do it BETTER and post it on RUclips dang. Stop hating on someone else's creativity because it unnatural.
Ps:I think the blade looks amazing, nice work.
It would be nice if you just said we cut a shape with a plasma cutter then chemically rusted it before "restoration" video.
The pitting in the blade destroyed the look of all that hard work
It already had pitting so he kept it.
What's this obsession with brass??? What is wrong with a full handle made of wood !!!!
Stefano Cesarini If I remember correctly the Japanese used brass to protect the tang of a metal sword by allowing the knife to transfer force into the softer brass. As opposed to sending all of it straight into the tang. I dunno if that’s what’s going on here though. It might just be a weight or preference thing.
I kno it looks like a table
@@awesomechainsaw Domo harigato ...I still prefer wood

I knew I shoulda read the comments beforehand
That is one ugly dull blade he started from.
The handle looks great, but the blade could have used a little more work.
I didn't see you temper the blade after hardening it?
Can you explain to a layman what that means? I watch these videos but have no idea what they are doing. I know heating and quenching is the hardening step right? How and why do you temper?
@@yougosquishnow heating it up really hot and then quenching it makes the blade extremely hard but very brittle. Means its prone to chipping and breaking so you afterwards heat the blade up at a much lower temperature for longer to add to the flexability without losing the original hardness.
The magnificent handle looks too good for the pitted blade. I suspect that the finished article will never chop chops again! VERY well done! Col, NZ.
I've seen rural Chinese cooks wield meat cleaver for everything - adeptly, from deboning and filleting fish to chopping veggies. Why do Western cooks need a different knife for every kind of cutting job? Oh, they prep on stone surfaces with very thick cooking boards made from tree stumps. That, to me, is progressive and practical.
Quit hating on him, he likes to take old things and create something new! I think these videos are awesome and the knife looks awesome. So stop wining you knife critics.
What about the edge? It looks like a crescent moon... if all you’re going to use it for is paper then fine, but as a butchers knife that’s hard and uncomfortable to work with. If one can’t hold it straight when cutting that’s where injuries occur. The whole blade should be sharp AND flat so you can’t see light under it standing it sharp side down. You attempt enough butcher knife restorations, I figured you’d know this by now? 🤔
I used to think you're American but you have Indian hands so if you could pleaseee reply to my comment and just tell me which country are you from and make my curious life easy and breathing would become easy for me? :(
Beautiful work! It’s obvious you take great pride in respecting the history of the items you restore
Dangerous knife for your index finger....
I've been subbed since vid one keep up the good work
"Can somebody tell me what kind of meat cleaver is this in Random Hands video?"
(I'd would really like to know about it.)
Overall I like the end result but, you need a chopping block to use this and if the knife/chopper/cleaver is too sharp you create extra work when it comes to keeping the chopping block level and free of grooves where bacteria thrive. And that sharp heel on the knife so close to the finger of your little soft hand is begging for trouble when you use it, even though it looks cool.
I love the rustic and raw blade though! And I've never used a heavy chopper like that. Maybe it's a great tool? :D
You've come a long way since I first saw your work. This one is very nice. Great job!
Nice welds. I think the steel already had dents and I'm glad you didn't weld them if that's the case. Brass looks nice this time. Great work.
Half yall are complaining yet you are subscribed, if yall dont like all the hard work he puts into these restorations, just unsub and dont come back, your just making someone's day crappy because you dont care for the time he puts into these restorations then dont watch them you bullies
i want to know how many pieces of paper are lost to the sharpness testing of every blade you make xD but great work! it's so cool and your videos are always so satisfying and mesmerizing
I know what is texture. I am a painter. But you should have given your blade the smallpox vaccine. It looks stupid.
Bro if your going to forge a blade and leave it outside at least make the shape of the blade so when you grab it you don’t cut yourself
the only thing that i did not like about is that for some reason you left all of those black boggers on it. Why?
IDK about you folks, but this knife 'screams' Rustic Chef! Great knife!
People people atleast aprieciate his hard work and effort into to make these videos and his wepons
his "hard work and effort" are pointless if he continues to cast these shitty handles.
@@DraedonTheInventor ohh really if you were him you wouldn't want insult throun at your work
jason baron well, if I was him, I’d actually listen to other people.
If he just stops using brass and starts making simple beautiful wooden handles - 90% of negative comments will disappear.
@@DraedonTheInventor well i for one like the brass handles
Ikr? And besides that, it's clearly just a hobby. I see no reason why he should cater to anyone simply because they don't like his methods. Rather ridiculous.
You know cleavers aren't supposed to be that sharp right? If it touches a bone or cartilage the edge is dead.
A sharp protrusion at the handle necessarily injures your fingers. Sooner or later, but it will happen.
Why didn’t you smooth out the blade?
exactly that's what I was thinking
My man "unexpectedly" restored a meat chopper... like how tf does that just randomly and surprisingly happen
"Oh shit What? I accidently restored this knife! What a crazy coincidence."
Thank u for using new water I hate when people when they pull the thing there doing a restoration out of the rusty acid and then they use the brush and that water to clean it
This is the Pyramid Head weapon from the Silent Hill game... 😂😂😂
Do you follow any form of safety in your shop?? At least put some tape over the sharp edge of that blade...
That "restoration" wasnt so unexpected after all. Same ugly brass handle as always
