  • We spent TWO DAYS touring the AMAZON RAINFOREST for £60! Heres How We Did It!
In this second part of our Amazon series (if you missed the first you can see it here: • We Spent Two Nights in... ) we wake up early to be greeted by Amazon river Dolphins which is probably one of the best ways we’ve ever started a day! After going on a peaceful bird watching tour we explored a nearby Amazon village in Colombia before heading over by boat to cross into Peru and explore the Amazon jungle on foot on the Peruvian side.
As beautiful as it is being out on the Amazon river fishing for piranha and swimming in the same waters as the river dolphins we were glad that on our second day we explored deeper into the jungle on foot, we saw completely different wildlife and most importantly the animal we really wanted to find, sloths! There were lots hiding up in the trees and our guide was able to find them for us so we didn’t just walk by without realizing.
We finished our last day in the Amazon back in Puerto Nariño where we climbed a tower in time to catch our final sunset in the Amazon, which was a beautiful way to end our time before an incredible late night storm that was absolutely biblical to see from the safety of our accommodation balcony.
We still can’t believe we managed to do all this on such a low budget, it wasn’t all smooth sailing but totally worth the effort to see the incredible wildlife and get to experience life out in the Amazon rainforest for a couple of nights.

A British couple from just outside London, England. We got married in 2018 and decided instead of a honeymoon we’d travel the world together. We saved money and travel points, quit our jobs, rented our house out and boarded a one way flight in 2020. We started this RUclips channel to share our experiences with friends, family and anyone who plans to travel to the places we’re visiting. We leave TKT tips/facts in our vlogs to give information that we wish we’d had before visiting. We hope you find our content fun & useful :)

Would you ever do a DIY Amazon trip like this? Or do you prefer to have an organised trip arranged before you arrive?
For us it was fun to have flexibility to just jump on a boat over to Peru but it was a little chaotic at the start figuring everything out. Let us know your thoughts below and as always thanks for watching! 👍🏼

I prefer a diy for some places like the cities but for remote areas like Puerto Marino it would be good to get help from a local guide. I am planning a trip from Iquitos to Laticia in February 2025 and after watching your video I want to go to Puerto Marino and this Peruvian town too. Excellent job guys only curious why you were low on money there? I did Peru and Bolivia last year but want to do Colombian and Ecuadorian side of Amazon!!!

Great to see all the wildlife - not so great all that rain but welcomingly refreshing & expected I guess!!! Loved the dolphins & even the little chick as well as the sloths. Great you got to see several. Reminded me of trying to spot Koala bears!!!
Peru side was worth going to ! Thanks for the viewing!

Yes it is a bit like koala spotting as they’re so high up. The little chick was so adorable following along, we were worried it might fall in the water as we walked over the bridge but luckily the girl ran over and grabbed it.

Such a neat experience. I'd love to see a sloth in the wild. I enjoy having a tour guide to learn more about the area/what I'm seeing.

It was so nice to be with a good tour guide, we would never have found so many sloths if it wasn't for his expert sloth spotting skills!

We still can’t believe that’s what it all cost per person but it did involve a lot of uncertainty along the way 😅

If the choice is food, or see cayman, I would choose food too 😆 but food vs 🦥 🤔 that would be a tough decision! It was so cool you saw so mamy sloths in the wild!

I think with so many content creators going to many similar places you guys stand out because of humility and pleasent behaviour.

Wonderful video. I have been to the Colombian Amazon twice and stayed somewhere more remote than you and have never seen a sloth. Nor in Choco on the pacific.

Wow, we honestly think lots more saw us than we saw of them, they are great little tree hiders!
