I'm not trying to defend Deerview here but with regard to the weather stripping being on the outside of one window and the seam in the window gasket being on the bottom of one window, I am guessing if you remove the Deerview sticker you would find the two window panes to be identical. Essentially one part number eases manufacturing, reduces inventory costs, etc so they just flip one of the identical panes to work on both sides of the window. Instead of making and inventorying a left and a right window, they only make and stock one part number for each standard size window. That may not seem like a big deal but they offer 8 standard sized horizontal windows in both clear and gray glass. With left and right windows in both clear and gray that is 32 different part numbers for standard slider panes they would need to inventory if they had left and right window panes. Doing what they do reduces that to 16 part numbers. Probably similar situation across all their various other window designs as well. Hope that makes sense as to why it is like it is. Not necessarily bad quality, just a business decision they made. Honestly the cost of the extra weather strip is less than them making and carrying cost on inventory for left and right windows and, while I agree with what you are saying about best practice being to put the gasket seam on top of the window - perhaps in the real world that isn't a problem.

I get all that and honestly the weatherstripping is a minor issue. All the other things make it a poor choice for me. Communication, production time, and the fact that they’re so loud in use are a bigger issue.

Your videos have me on edge about buying these now. I just started building my blind and framed out for these windows. A 60" and 2 48s. Not sure what to do now.

I was sorely disappointed but I only ordered one slider. I used it but put it on the side that will rarely get opened and hardly ever for a kill shot.

Had same issues with mine. Communication and customer service are terrible .

Are the glass panels not made to be taken out? The manufacturer advertises they are made to be taken out to completely “open” the window. If so, just flip the one over and put it back in. The seal and striping would then be correct and it would likely shut and lock properly.

If you do that the weather stripping is on the wrong side.

Have you spoken to the company and if so what was their response?

I couldn’t get them to respond when I was buying the windows. Didn’t expect that to change.
