They have quite a lot of connecting passengers from the Middle East to Asia, and they'd rather have them wait for their connecting flight than offer them alternatives for any delays along the way. The problem is that they wait 2-3 hours. If you want to know if their planes are running on time, look at the arrivals for Colombo - if a flight from the Middle East is late, yours will most likely be delayed too.
Srilankan is quite a decent airline.. i had gr8 time with them.

やはり遅延多めなんですね。昔エアランカ時代に、乗るはずの飛行機がコロンボから到着せず、千葉で一泊し翌日の昼頃にようやく搭乗ということがありました。でもcaさんも楽しい方ばかりで、コックピットに入れてもらったり(今だと問題なのかな？)お酒をたくさん持ってきてくれたり、たのしいフライトでした。
