11:19 they’re cashews not chestnuts
Apologies for the mistake 😅
Sri Lanka is my neighbouring country. I never thought that Sri Lanka is so beautiful. Rory, you have really shown the beauty of Sri Lanka. I envy you as you have stayed in such a magnificent hotel room balcony!😊
All their meals, long or short haul - is all served in one tray in business class. Both my flights BKK CMB and CMB MEL featured similar meal services. I'd happily fly them just for their catering. Always the highlight.
I have seen a few article reviews about their a330 business class, and they all had their meals served course by course
Perhaps Sri Lankan changed that during covid 😅
With my recent travel to Singapore with Srilankan Airlines I was really surprised with the service they provided, the cabin crew was amazing and its a solid 10/10 for the hospitality and the passenger handling inflight, and I have been travelling with emirates,Qatar airways and Finn air but still can’t beat the Srilankan hospitality. Thank you Rory for this amazing video
So glad to hear these words from a srilankan while most of the srilankans criticize our own airline.
Rorys back! Great content as always and great to see the trains in Sri Lanka. On the bucketlist!Cheers mate.
Love the bonus content about the train options. You always have such a fine eye for detail in your presentations. I'm even more keen now to visit Sri Lanka in the next year or two.
I’ll be giving them some time to get back on their feet before burdening them with the expectation of entertaining me.
They have been through hell and back.
I’ve been twice and am keen to go back a third time.
yes! I loved their trains and food too
Yes, giant cashews. This fellow is most amazing travel person. And excellent cameraman and editor, really professional.
Fantastic video as always Rory!!!
Relaxing video to watch, thank you!
Love It, Rory always a inspiration seeing you
In can tell this is gonna be a good video Rory!
Another really interesting and thorough review Rory - Thank you!
That was a great flight thanks for the video 😊
Thank you Mr. Rory. Another great video. ;-)
Another comprehensive review from Rory!
Great stuff as always Rory! I'm keen to fly Sri Lankan myself soon!
That was great Rory, yes I wondered about the chestnuts. 😊😊
Hi Rory thank you for the video the view from your hotel balcony was really beautiful. Food on plane looked good. Hope you enjoyed your trip.
Love it so much thank you 🙏
Just to add to your info regarding the sri lankan airlines free hotel program, if you fly sri lankan and your connecting flight is 8 hours away or longer, they put you up for free! For me it was the Full Moon Hotel nearby which was a little dated but fine. There was even a pool! The food was a small buffet. They even take you on a free tour of downtown colombo if you want! It is not a top tier or even a second tier airline, and the airport really sucks, but god Sri Lanka is a beautiful country! Friendly people, great food, romantic train journeys, and very affordable. I’m glad you went!
I really liked your video, nicely done. Miss Sri Lankan air lines, hope it Will get back to it's past glory, lot of work to be done for that.
Thank you for the interesting and enlightening video, Rory! You always provide calm, detailed narration, which is never boring. Your flight appeared quite enjoyable.
Thank you 😊
great review
Woow..Mind relaxing voice....Thanks for the recommendation of Sri Lankan airlines
Thank you for recommend our airline ❤🇱🇰
❤ from 🇱🇰
Thank you 😊
The Sri Lankan Cuisine Are To Spice For Me.Great Trip Report
Thank you thank you so much appreciate srilankan airlines one word #visitsrilanka🇱🇰🇱🇰 ❤❤❤❤❤
Seeing Sri Lanka through your eyes is very interesting and informative. I really enjoyed your review of the airport, the lounge you used looked great, maybe not as posh as some, but it seemed very complete with amenities.
Your seat on the plane was nicely appointed. Your meal looked delicious. I love Sri Lankan food. This was a very good review of Sri Lankan airlines. Really enjoyed this!
Great Review , Fair and very Honest
Thank you
Wow 😍
i love it when you chooses the same dish i would order if i was on the same flight.
thank you from Sri Lanka
Thank you for watching 😊
Thank you for visiting sri lanka ❤
👌👌
💛💛💛
Another great report Rory. A lot of information in this review as in all your previous reviews. Your comments about the hard product being old and needing an update together with the airline being uncompetitive is in line with other reviews. However it seems you had a good experience with Sri Lankan on this flight.
You video high quality more details good ideas you very good RUclips❤
I'm a srilankan ❤
Thank you very much for the information
I also like to fly in business class, but I don't have enough money 😭
Yes....yes.... yes...
UL has great service 😊
from Sri lanka❤️😊
My SriLankan ❤
Love seeing your reviews, also those nuts looked like Cashews not Chestnuts
🇱🇰💝
How was the leg rest pretty crammed I guess unable to turn left right is it.
Love Sri lanka❤❤❤
Ceylon ❤
This seems to be the generic business model for One World partners with exception to the new BA model. The only partner we have never flown with is Qantas, so can’t assume they are the same, but hopefully we will change that next year🤞🤞
Excellent video. Can I have your hotel's name again in Colombo? It'd be great if you can make videos on the Sri Lanka's railways as well.
Hi it’s called Granbell Hotel 😊
granbellhotel.lk/
@@RoryDing Thank you👍
Pizza Hut and Burger King? Sounds like my new favourite airport
Fascinating! The plane, the trains, cuisine, interesting about Sri Lanka.
Must have been some bad attacks to justify that much security!🙄
Notice in the lounge, cricket on the TVs, what a surprise😉
That kind of security is pretty common in that part of the world 😅
Are you in raddison hotel
Huh, I thought Thomas Cook went bankrupt. Good video though mate!
Another great video, cheers Rory. Those Chestnuts looked suspiciously Cashewesque and not prototypical at all.
Cashews are everywhere in SL I doubt they offered chestnuts.
When I went in the 90s during school holidays we had a cashew tree in our backyard.
@@rachkate76wow, that's cool, I love cashews, here in Australia they are quite expensive. I now think I need to visit Shri Lanka one of these days
@@relacser haha yes they are expensive here.
You have to be careful when cutting them down off the tree as the nut is encased in this bigger thingy that has sap in it and it will stain your skin pink.
I freaked out and started crying then our neighbours told us not to worry it will fade in a few days which it did. 😂
They also make a delicious sweet snack where they pour coconut palm sugar or ‘kithul pani’ like a syrup over them that sets hard.
I ate so much of it when I was there and it was so cheap at the time.
Kaju dodol was another sweet I couldn’t get enough of- this chewy sweet that had chopped up cashews in it and takes hours and hours to boil and make it.
@@relacser I would give it a bit more time for them to get back on their feet- their economy was obliterated due to systemic corruption and entertaining tourists isn’t their main priority right now.
I’m keen to go back too, but it would be unfair to burden them with tourism yet.
They need to be given a chance to put their own oxygen masks on before helping others with theirs if you know what I mean. 👍🏽
But you should definitely go at some point and keep away from the tourist traps- you’ll have a much better time.
Considering Sri Lankan's dubious safety record as explained in Josh Cahill's video, I honestly expected you to have a crap experience. But great to see that you had a decent experience Rory! Thumbs up!
18:30 Internet map shocked me. Why no coverage in India? You covered entire world except India.
Well, did you ever imagine that you'd stay in a place like that?
Boa viagem ai 0:34 de avião show bubai
First view from a school maths class
😅
11:16 Chestnuts? 🤔 Those look like cashews to me. 😉
Rory already corrected his comment
My heart says once again Sri Lanka will be the World's No.01 tourist destination in end of 2024 ❤ #YesSriLankaCan 🇱🇰
I am sri lanka
I’m from Sri Lanka if u don’t believe me this is the word අ a
Just remember people like myself .. pronunciation of words .had to heard from lack of hearing..but thankyou for your story .
What do you mean???
Are you complaining about something or are you suggesting something? If so, you need to be clear because I don’t understand what you’re trying to say and I too am hard of hearing.
Promo'SM 👉
I’ve flown Sri Lankan airlines twice. Never again. 1st time was in a crappy business class cabin, 2nd time they cancelled my ticket with no communication, no compensation and no explanation. They’re a really screwed up 3rd world airline. Buyer beware.
whats with the blurring of peoples faces? it really spoils the videos.
Its an ethical thing in video recording. Although people do,no body can video someone els without their permission.
Sri Lankan airline or Air Lanka has been such a heavy burden on ordinary citizens that I feel it should be simply closed down and not sold or given to anybody for running it. It's a den of thieves.
SRI LANKAN ECONOMY IS LIKE TO EQUAL = ADANI AMBANI TATA😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅
ambani money is all moody's govement black money. srilanka just 20 million population but india more than 1 billion population. so don't equol between ind and sl. ur comment like crazy
@@ucfirdhaws6688 you seem to go around calling everyone else crazy when it’s you.
Again, work on your reading comprehension and buy a mirror- you’ll see who the crazy one is all along.
19:49 - So many destinations and you choice a place where they have slavery, where elites [line son of a ruler] one can be gays but peoples living in poverty are sentence to death in inhuman prison? And you promoted it few times, well done m8. Maybe in next episode you can mention how amazing North Korea penal phosphorus mines for children of "criminals" are.
Excellent vlog, very informative, I especially love the take offs and landing, great work, cheers from Downunder ❤️🦘🦘🦘🇦🇺
Thank you 😊
‘Invest in new aircraft to keep up with the competition’
Rory, have you been alive over the last 3 or so years where SL’s economy woes have been well documented along with the huge deaths they had from starvation, no water and no medications?
Do you seriously think they’re going to put buying more planes to be competitive at the upper echelon of their priority list for you and other travelers?
It’s disappointing how utterly out of touch with facts, reality and empathy some of you are.
Where’s your next destination?
Syria or Palestine so that you can remark on how much they failed to impress and prioritise you?
No water in Sri Lanka? Do you think you got enough water in Australia compared to Sri Lanka? lol
@@ruchira1991 another irrelevant idiot comment from a daft heartless sock puppet.
u crazy srilanka is like a paradise on earth. i think u not understanding about srilanka. srilanka is one of greatest country in asia.
@@ucfirdhaws6688 I knew one of you would show up to not even read the comment and just do a tacky tourism advert in your comment.
I am Sri Lankan thank you very much and your erasure of what’s happened to the Sri Lankan people over the last few years is an insulting slap in the face.
Nobody talked about the landscape or anything like it.
Work on your reading comprehension.
You couldn’t be Sri Lankan at all of you go around gaslighting Sri Lankans in the comments trying to erase the last several years of peoples lives that are easily found doing a Google search.
Grow up.
Hi, I understand the state of the economy and the quality of life in Sri Lanka. However, if Sri Lankan Airlines cannot become profitable, it will either face bankruptcy and closure or require constant government funding to subsidise its losses. Therefore, in my opinion the best course of action is to purchase or lease new planes, which enhance the airline's competitiveness and profitability in the long run, thus reducing its reliance on subsidies and alleviating the burden on the government.
