during running girls sunmi actually told us that the true reason why she left wonder girls is because her mental health wasn’t great she is diagnosed with borderline personality disorder. she said that she really had to take a break back then. I’m so proud of her
Sunmi is one of my all time favs... She has a very unique style and very involved in the whole process. Gashina was her debut song after leaving JYP, it's phenomenal. She's amazing. My favorites from her are Noir and Black Pearl. She's got a comeback in just a couple days and I can't wait!
Noir & Black Pearl are such bops, I also really love Siren. Who am I kidding, I honestly don’t think there’s a track in her discography that I don’t like.....
The rapper in Full Moon was Lena, a JYP trainee who at the time was the leader of the much anticipated soon-to-debut girl group 6Mix... the group Jihyo, Nayeon, Jeongyeon and briefly Sana (and Minyoung from Sixteen) were in before Twice. Their debut as 6Mix fell through when Lena left the company, then JYP decided to finalise the lineup through a survival show and so we got the Twice we know now. They would have been a much different group in a alternate reality with Lena as their rapper and leader!
"why have I not listened to her before?" that's what I'm saying. I've always been more into soloists than groups, still love groups I just prefer the more focused and artistically driven style of soloists, they usually can pursue what they actually want in terms of music and style and I feel like that just elevates the music for me
Yess Sunmi has a comeback on 23rd!! It‘s called „Tail“ and the concept Pics are a lot🥴 „Pporappippam“ was her latest comeback, my fave song is „Noir“ which has a deep message about social media consumerism :o „Lalalay“ is amazing too (honestly her whole discography is) 🥰 I don‘t know much about Wonder girls but I know they also played as a band and she was the bassist!! The other members have a solo career as well, highly recommend Ha:tfelt (Yeeun) and Yubin :D
When she fell on her face in the Heroine MV, that was real. She debuted in 2007, so she's been doing this for a while, even though she's only 28. She left that fall in the MV, because she doesn't have any time for being fake. I love her because she doesn't really care about being pretty all the time. I'm anticipating her comeback.
I’m not TOO familiar with Sunmi, but my favourite songs of her are -heroine -siren -gashina -lalalay -noir Idk many of her songs😂 she’s so talented~ her voice is very distinctive and pretty
For me "Borderline" is a real emotional masterpiece. Until few month ago you could just have a chance listening to it during her concerts but now there is a MV. "Noir" and "Siren" are also on top of my favorite Sunmi's MV
Thank you for this!! I love Sunmi and have followed her since Wonder Girls. I hope you can react to Sunmi's Gashina! For me, that is definitely her hit song. You can also listen to Siren, and Noir, that has a theme that revolves around the dark side of social media. There's also her Borderline special video which is very personal to her as she was diagnosed with borderline personality disorder. She's a queen and has changed kpop in so many ways. Sunmi was a sub vocalist in the Wonder Girls, she was also the 2nd youngest so she had a cute, quirky, 4D image. So a lot of fans were shocked when she re-debuted as a solo singer with such a sexy concept. Sunmi left the Wonder Girls in the middle of the group's promotion in the US. The girls had a really hard time there and the culture shock was probably too much for such a young girl. She felt really home sick so she decided to leave the group and just stay in Korea. She went back as a trainee and then soon made her debut. Sunmi also rejoined Wonder Girls again after a few years and was 1 of the final line up of the group before they inevitably disbanded.
I have literally never clicked on a reaction video so fast....I’ve been waiting for this since I saw your reaction to the Loona Full Moon cover! Dude, the way you were struggling to describe Sunmi after Full Moon is so relatable! The 3 words that best describe Sunmi for me are authentic, sultry & Queen! She just does her thing, in such a sensual, sultry way, seemingly, without a care in the world. Fun fact....she wrote a song for Seulgi called Secret Tape after they appeared together on a show called Secret Unnie. It’s on her Warning EP. She actually started it when she found out they’d be paired together but didn’t finish it until after filming. The really are each other’s biggest fans! She also has a close relationship with Chungha (whom you mentioned). Our queen has basically collected a large harem of female idols over the years that just continues to grow....
Correct, she left WG in 2010 to pursue her academics and then in 2013 JYP pushed her as a soloist rather than have her rejoin WG at the time, which caught her a lotttt of flack. And then when WG changed their sound and image to a live band in 2015, they added Sunmi back as the bassist. And now we know she joined MakeUs and gave as the hits from Gashina and onwards with a diff music style and concepts.
I have been an avid fan of Sunmi ever since the release of '24 Hours' eight years ago. I had dabbled in Wonder Girls music before then, but their sound didn't appeal to me much. Sunmi though... I have been enraptured by her ever since her solo debut. When Wonder Girls came back with their (frankly excellent) Reboot album, I loved their new sound and mature vibe, and was desperate for anything Sunmi put out. Her music makes me feel powerful and fun and just fills me with energy. She has never released a single track that I didn't enjoy (and I'm desperate for an official release of her song 'Hey You' of which their is a live performance on MBC I think). Thank you for reacting to her, and thank you to the person who requested you do so. It always makes me happy to see another person swept up in the magic that is Sunmi's creative endeavours.
Her older stuff like 24 Hours and Full Moon aren't really my style but from Gashina on I was obsessed with her music. Siren, Pporappippam, and Heroine are probably my faves of her title tracks, but all her stuff is pretty darn great.
i didn't really know lmao. i hear most people say it as 'her-oh-in' instead of 'hero-in' but ig that because of where i live. sorry to cause a fuss over nothing lmfao.
Fun fact but actually not so much fun in the heroine video at the end she really fell and hurt herself quite bad. :( I'm not a fan but I always get happy when I see her! Love her title tracks a lot and I find her very unique. Her song Noir is the best example in my opinion. A huge thumbs up if you gonna listen to that one! ^-^
Sunmi already a legend when she is in JYP, but after she left, she is on another level
during running girls sunmi actually told us that the true reason why she left wonder girls is because her mental health wasn’t great she is diagnosed with borderline personality disorder. she said that she really had to take a break back then. I’m so proud of her
I love her, 24 hours is a masterpiece!

Noir is epic! Great song and the mv has an even greater concept.

@@davids12345100 I feel the same, no matter what she does she keeps me hooked. I really admire her

Honestly just react to all of her mvs they're all bangers, but make sure you don't miss Pporappippam, Noir and Siren!

+1 on Siren and Noir 🙏👀
In the Wonder Girls, Sunmi's roles were Main Dancer, Vocalist, Bassist (Yeah, they played instruments at times), & Visual.
Full Moon introduced me to Sunmi and I regret NOTHING .
One of my top soloist of all time 😌❤

Sunmi is an angel no matter how much we reach perfection, we will never reach their level

I'm glad you liked her songs this much. She is my favorite female solo artist. Heroine is my personal favorite, but all her songs are AMAZING ;)

Like many others, “Noir” “Siren” and “보라빛 밤” are favorites of mine. “날라리” as well.
Now everytime i listen to heroine i can only think about the performance from Road to Kingdom from the boyz and oneus

You should listen to her OST "XX". It's a whole other side. It's so gooood!
the amount of people that call this song 'heroin' and not 'heroine' hurts my soul 😭😭😭
but thanks for the video tho.❤❤
i didn't really know lmao. i hear most people say it as 'her-oh-in' instead of 'hero-in' but ig that because of where i live. sorry to cause a fuss over nothing lmfao.
As we speak of solo. I hope u can eat to SHINee's Jonghyun solo songs one day :)
I got you covered! My April request is an hour Jonghyun for his birthday! ❤️💎❤️
