    Pro-tip for you. Use some fine sand to fill the saw cuts up to about 1/2” from the top surface and then use gray Sikaflex SL1 caulk, it’s the best, to seal up the joints. Be sure to use some tape or something else to cover the ends so the caulk doesn’t run out the ends. Keep the videos coming, you’re doing great. That way I can slide in into a 2 inch receiver, one the three point on my 322. Then I can still pull it with any tractor, or if someone wants to barrow it. But I can just lift it , to not have the curves, or to go over hard stuff. Like sidewalks or driveways, without getting of the tractor

    Neil, a buddy of mine just retired from a lifetime of Masonry work. He got me started in using Vulkem Polyurethane concrete crack sealer. It is about the same color as concrete, has a texture that matches and remains flexible. I have 15 year old cracks that have spread, heaved and still remain sealed.
    Filling and packing a trench without destroying the surface on each side is really a challenge in a finished yard. That orbital scraper is the perfect answer.
    I think planting grass before it’s time to sprout is the way to go… if you can do it. Are you going to straw it before it sprouts?
    It looked to me that Kara had the more difficult job… a bit of washing and a whole lot of dog training, hydrating and of course… supervising! LOL

    • @digdrivediy
      @digdrivediy  2 месяца назад +1

    I hope maybe you’ll allow me to share some unsolicited advice? If not, ignore what follows:
    Granted it’s in Southern California, but when my children were young I continued around the back of my property a tree line similar to the one you have (that I think is of the juniper variety). Anyways, I had heard about a study about how boundaries - whether physical, or even of the disciplinary variety - how they actually make people feel more comfortable. So every time I see your beautiful pond I find myself wishing the next video will be of you planting another line of trees across the back of your property.
    Of course, it’s really hard to tell what solution do from watching a two dimensional video on an iPad - I mean, maybe you guys love the view and it would interrupt that - I don’t know, just thought I’d pass it along.
    Keep up the good work and the great videos!
    David Epp from So Cal

    • @digdrivediy
      @digdrivediy  2 месяца назад +2

      Hey thanks David! We have certainly discussed putting in another tree line across the back. Also have thought about a fence of some sort. We enjoy when there is corn around us too as it provides a "natural fence" for 6 months of the year, every other year.
      But on the other hand we do like the view out back once the corn is gone.
      I appreciate the advice most definitely. We will continue to discuss it I'm sure but we keep coming back to the idea of a wire based fence of some sort. Something that will help keep the corn fodder out but allow the views in.

    Hi Neil, great video today, we have spring fever too in the UK, finally some sun today. If you get a moment, it would be great if you would settle an argument that I have with my wife, as she spotted your wording on the wall in your barn when you reached for your compressor. To explain, my wife has always joked that you are my long lost brother, as she thinks that we look similar, are about the same age and both like your way of life. To top it all, we have a cockapoo just like yours. Anyway, back to the question, my surname is Miller (the wording in your barn), so please let her know that we are not related! 😀

So, I just rented a ride on Ryan aerator. After I spent ten, yes ten hours doing my yard, I just had to go over and do a good buddy’s yard as well. (You know how that is) He totally forgot about his dog fence wire and my skilled driving hit it all the way down the sidewalk right over the wire. 🤦🏻 What I learned though is that they now have geo tracked invisible fences that you set up using a satellite view of your yard. You can take it with you wherever you go and just reset the perimeter for your new temporary location. You might want to look into that. Hope my seed didn’t get totally washed away by last Mondays deluge here in Central Indiana!

    Hi Neil. The yard is looking good! Bruno is out stretching his legs. Not being too knowledgeable about tractors, do the dual rear brakes work similar to a tracked vehicle? I.E, holding the brake stops one rear wheel so the tractor pivots on the other? Thanks for the video!

    • @digdrivediy
      @digdrivediy  2 месяца назад +2

      Yes, that's exactly how the brakes work. It really helps you to spin around a tight circle but can also make some burn out marks in the grass if you're not careful!

      My backhoe is a 1998. I think they changed from the D to an E in 1997. The E has a different boom and extendahoe design.
