Pyrac sounds so calm when using lance, just like a lance, calm composed and consistent.
ive only started to play MHR as a lance player, i cant do half of those moves you go, like that forward spinning trust etc... So much to learn :) Great play!
I will always believe the best lance matchup in this game is primordial it’s just so satisfying
Lance is probably my second favourite weapon in Sunbreak, although I am aware I'm probably nowhere near playing the meta. The damage it does for how safe you are using it is absurd
definetely a fantastic weapon.
Love the idea of "This weapon is OP" as opposed to the much more real, "Know this monster inside and out, all the perfect points to get parry damage, and the attacks designed to bait you into overcommitting.". As a Lance main, I approve of the vibe.
my brain cant comprehend this master play.
I picked up lance 2 weeks ago and situations like 5:11 always seem to hit me. Did you cancel his backwards-hop to insta-guard? Did the tail slap miss him entirely? I am still trying to understand which lance moves makes you commit (leaping thrust? can it be cancelled) and which moves are safe to insta-block of (after every back-hop? after ever triple poke reset?)
This man just make every single weapon seem op and easy to use, then i try to use and get my shit completly destroyed xD
just takes some practice boss if i can do it anyone can

I'm just so bad at insta block
Here’s a tip. When a Monster’s enraged, always expect them to follow up after an attack. Don’t cross-sweep as soon as you parry.
I don't even use insta block because I'm bad at it. In instead focus on leaping thrust guards and try to get as many spiral attacks as I can
So glad they brought back adept/insta block in rise it was one of my favorite play styles in MHGU
As new player lance is good? I love playing as tank in every game...

Also how are you jump 3 hit lancing like that? and how are you healing?
You may have already found out this info by now, but here's some answers
Jump 3 hit: Leaping Thrust, accessible only after Guard Dashing (Switch Skill 3 base option). Guard Dash can be aimed any direction in a neutral state pushing you forward in that direction. When not in neutral, such as after a poke, your Guard Dash will be locked into either going forward, sidestepping, or backhopping (all from your hunter's perspective). You can chain Guard Dash -> Leaping Thrust -> Guard Dash and so on, effectively for as long as you want, and it's very good damage as well.
Quick guard combo: I assume you are referring to the use of Insta-Block (Switch Skill 1 alternate option). If you block perfectly, your block is improved and you can quickly go into other options, including Insta-Block again, allowing you to chain improved guards. It takes practice to do well though. Against the double tail hit he was Insta-Blocking the first hit, and then Anchor Raging the second hit (Switch Skill 4 base option; wirebug move).
Healing: Bloodblight, obtained from being hit by an Anomaly monster. While you have Bloodblight, normal healing from consumables is halved, but you heal a percentage of damage dealt in return. The Blood Rite skill can give the positive effect of Bloodblight, but only against broken parts, so it won't be active near the beginning of a hunt.
The common Switch Skill Loadout is:
1. Insta-Block; Guard isn't bad, but it doesn't have nearly as much potential so it's mostly only used for comfort or when using the Guard Bash rampage decoration.
2. Up to your preference. Shield Charge can only go for a short distance and hits only once, but it can KO (it also says it can finish with Leaping Thrust, but it is only a single hit, so it's not the same as after Guard Dash).
3. Guard Dash because of Leaping Thrust and safe movement; Shield Tackle is kind of limiting, but good for KOs.
4. Anchor Rage mainly; Skyward Thrust for tall monsters or ones with tall punishable moves (you could slot it in your other scroll to swap to when necessary). Spiral Thrust isn't recommended since it's hard to consistently get all the hits, and isn't great if you aren't doing that.
5. Sheathing Retreat
Lance is good for new players? I love playing as tank in every game i play

This is like the platonic ideal of lance gameplay to me. If I’m even a quarter as good during a hunt I feel like a boss.
How are you doing that jumping thrust with Lance? I cannot for the life of me figure out how to do that attack
I couldn't do it before too but once I knew how to do it, I never looked backed. It's basically ZR + X and then A button on switch or R2 + triangle then circle for Playstation. Xbox idk lol also make sure to have it on your switch skill

believe it is yeah, you can usually land 2 and a bit leaping thrust in the time it take to do a triple poke

It would its just not really needed, since you shouldn't really be taking damage
See, when I saw in World that I could use a lance, and then saw that I could use a GUN LANCE, I never understood why anyone would use the lance. Good sir, what is the appeal? It looks like a pretty basic move set
Because you feel invincible and you never stop attacking
Instablock everything and do a lot of dmg. But in world the gunlance was my favourite too
gunlance moveset isn't exactly all that varied in world either, you just like explosions

Broken lance be like
try mail of hellfire 3 + beserk 2 + strife 3. even higher damage. u can drop guard requirement as strife give unlimited stamina.
or i can keep the comfort without needing to manage a health drain(that can kill) doing 5% less cause i mentioned at the start and end its quite easy for this setup to get the 2-3 levels of mail its missing.
