Memo screwed his own career when he went to la liga. He couldn’t play with his feet so he couldn’t flourish there. He should have been on a championship side or serie A team or even a Portuguese team. He’s stunted his own career unfortunately
It’s not just the players who decide to stay in Mexico. The coaches from tigres Monterrey, Toluca, chivas, and America usually(except Almada and Osorio) like to sell players around 5-15 million euros and that’s when European teams back out.
If more Mexican players took risks going to European clubs no one ever heard of the team would be better. When you’re between 18-23 nothing is wrong with playing in Greece, Belgium, Denmark, or the lower tier Serie A or Portuguese teams
Ppl rag on him meanwhile all the “best Mexican players” right now don’t even play in Europe at all. What does that say? By my books that makes Ochoa better still. He plays in Europe. Those other guys don’t.

For as legendary he is. Hes never been able to adapt to a modern keeper therefore in the big European leagues hes at relegation clubs
