Reviewing a game at launch is in no way 'unfair' to the game. That is how the company released it to the public, and thus, that is how it was meant to be experienced, and reviewed.
This point is completely true. Sure, review scores could change after patches and DLC, but what if they don't. what if the company gives up. The review at launch is the minimum we know how the game will be quality wise
Exactly Another Sony L after FF16 flops for being too white I will take another dump on flopspoken again, Xbox is not only better but Sarah Bond is better head at Xbox than crying Jim Ryan could ever hope to be
Of course it’s fair to review a game at launch. It’s also totally fair to go back to games after updates to see if they’ve been improved. I’d love for every game to be good at release, but I also appreciate when developers put work in to improve games after release, even the ones that released in a shitty state (someone mentioned Cyberpunk I believe, lol).
-Gollum releases horribly, studio shuts down its entire production -Saints Row releases horribly, studio gets incorporated into a different one -SimCity releases horribly, studio shuts down for good -Forspoken releases horribly, entire studio downsized and reshuffled -Redfall releases horribly, most of the original team quit how long until the industry notices this alarming trend?
Forspoken is a good example of why studios shouldn't underestimate the importance of the writer. You can fix gameplay, graphics, bugs, etc. but you can't fix story and dialogue as easily with patches.
This is how I felt about Cyberpunk. Not as extreme of an example as forspoken, but I remember everyone talking about bugs, but didn't mention all the terrible dialogue and shallow storytelling.
@@executioner_ecgbert884That's because audiences generally enjoyed Cyberpunk's story and voice acting, and a huge part of why so many people were willing to look past the launch issues.
I'll admit that the voice acting is pretty good, certainly way better than Forspoken. I still think the story and the writing were pretty shallow and contrived, but also way better than Forspoken. Not the best choice for a direct comparison, I admit
There is one line in the game from one of the bosses that stuck with me. *"I didn't initiate this battle you did, you come to these lands, ignore our laws and then play the victim".* And I couldn't help but think, I hope the bad guys win.
@@demetter7936 my life isn’t boring. I enjoyed the combat. So I played it. And not trying to be rude either but if your life is so boring that you have to worry about how many hours I put into a game then maybe you should look at changing that. Because quite frankly that’s my decision and my business not yours
If you're wondering how to turn off the sound coming from the controller itself. If you're playing on console (and not pc with controller) open up the quick menu. Go to "controller" and turn down "controller audio", that is above normal audio
Dialog and story is super important to me, more so than combat. This was a pain to listen to even for two sentences. Why did they have to make her so annoying. They even had her talking under water, wtf! You got a comment and a like for your money spent on reaffirming why most of us shouldn't spend our money if we like good writing and story build.
@@oompalumpus699 I read some Isekai visual novels by some indie/fans and they have better writing and storytelling than all of Foreclosure. I'm being dead fucking serious.
The point is also that the score is so bland and uninspired. A perfect treatment for the trash that is the games music. And the dude was even going for the arpeggios. Priceless.

@@dean_l33yeah but if you wait a few months to two years before playing a game because waiting for ideal sales on a game. I pretty much always get the best experience by playing later. Y’all can be beta testers and I’ll play a finish product
Definitely agree. Similarly, Mass Effect Andromeda and Cyberpunk 2077 launched horribly, but eventually they got the rough edges sanded. They're actually coherent, finished games now. I still have my little gripes here and there about them, but they became worth my money and time.
From the first trailer my initial thought was the world is going to be empty and bland. They kept showing her zoom around and you could see there was no point in stopping bc there wasn't anything to stop for. That's probably why that feature was put in to begin with. They knew it would be way too tedious to run around without a quick way to get everywhere.
Gosh i was zooming all over place as there was so much stuff to find in each section of the world. Its interesting hearing such a vastly different experience. I really enjoyed the game.
Imagine if there was a high speed battle inside a giant cavern. That would've been epic. If there was, I wouldn't know because I never played it or watched people play it.
Luke: this game has a focus on fluid movement. The game: herky jerky fits and starts as the girl (can’t be bothered to remember her name) skips and twirls as she tries to maneuver around obstacles and walls in tight spaces. If you want a fluid movement system in an open world game, play prototype. It’s leagues better
As a matter of fact, you can do cake batter with mayonnaise and maybe pickle juice the base for mayonnaise (eggs, vinegar/lemon, oil and salt) are very much ingredients perfectly useful for a cake, while the mayonnaise stabilizer can help with cake structure or moist retention, and pickle juice can be useful for the saltines of the brine (though this one is debatable) If you wanna go for gross or mismatch flavors, go for chilli flakes, toothpaste, baby powder and uncooked rice
You make good points, but i'd be down with chili flakes, sweet and spicy do go well together and it would be a small step to go from spice cakes, to spicy cakes.
11:30 It's true. Just look at what "My face is tired" did to Mass Effect: Andromeda. It highlighted the embarrassing animation issues and opened the game to all kinds of scorn. It took years for player opinions to soften toward it to the point where it seems to generally be regarded as a game that's not great but not as bad as people were saying in 2017.
It's still really bad when you consider what people loved the original trilogy for and how they completely dropped the ball in those aspects of gamedesign (excellent world building and interesting characters)
@@naiiin6949 I agree. For me, a big problem was that after the opening events were over and the story shifted its focus to Scott/Sara Ryder, everything became way too casual. It was as if none of the characters really cared about anything that was going on. (So why should the player care?) And the story didn't really work. It was just the Reapers (forcing people to "ascend" to a different form) with a less compelling motivation. That said, I do think Andromeda excelled in two areas: fluid, fast-paced combat and beautiful environments. It had what is to this day the most fun and fair boss fight I've ever experienced, and some of those environments were screenshot-worthy.
@@InJeffable Hilariously enough, Jason whats-his-face and the rest of the people from Kotaku tried painting a picture like the problem was the Frostbite engine, when in reality, the only saving grace for that game WAS the Frostbite engine, as it had the best lighting system (back then and even now) and some of the smoothest combat mechanics. Everything else about Andromeda was completely amateurish.
No, it was as bad as people were saying it was. Did you even play it on release? I got a refund and EA attempted to give me this game for free on Origin. The game was so bad that I declined. Edit: The only saving grace for andrromeda was the combat, but no one plays mass effect solely for the combat.
About the exploration, It's just like Ubisoft exploration, I don't know how this happens but devs misunderstand completely what is the fun in exploring... When you explore Elden Ring world, you actually find unique places and unique gear, and you stumble on those things because you decided to go for some interesting place you saw while walking around. In those Ubisoft like games, you just find the same weapons with slightly better specs on random chests or inside those samey enemy outposts.
This. Ghost Recon Wildlands has one of the best designed open-world maps in any game bar none. That's not even an exaggeration. THe intricate details in each of the biomes and some of the POIs are breathtaking. However, the game is horrible for doing absolutely nothing with its massive open world. It's just a large sandbox where you do the same thing over and over with almost zero discovery. Sure you can unlock new weapon parts at various enemy bases, but like you mentioned, Elden Ring had unique locations that rewarded you for exploration and discovery. Ubisoft-style games just give you a massive map and have you repeat the same loops over and over again ad infinitum across a cool looking but ultimately vapid landscape.
@@billywashere6965Elden Ring has the same loop minus the massive dungeons, but each area has the same type of mini dungeons...just w/o markers and sometimes notable loot. With that said, its still a massive leap over the repetitive but fun as hell Wildlands. Lol
What's funny to me is that the exploring in a indie game called Northern Journey puts so many AAA games exploration to 100 shames because the exploration in that is truly mystical and special
I love the “so excited to get rewarded with a feather” because that is exactly how I felt about hogwarts legacy!! So freaking empty and unrewarding! Got boring so fast
@@detectivemadoka69420 HL had so much potential. @@FelixMateoThatsFelixyeah people just like it because of the brand it's attached too. Which is fine but there isn't anything remarkable about it except the name.
It's not the rewards themselves that are bad, a feather in another game could be a true prize. No the issue here is how the game treats this system and how badly it communicates the importance of something to the player. For example, in Tears of the Kingdom, you literally collect magical bubblegums to turn some mf into a bunny, and yet somehow I found that to be more interesting than going through an hour of Forspoken. Mostly this comes down to 3 things, the game builds an important expectation for the player: "you will get rewarded for exploration no matter what", which totk is very keen on doing and letting you know they're doing it, so you feel very motivated to do some laughably meaningless things. Second, totk knows how to hook the player in any questline and that comes in different forms, like the bubblegums, you only really collect them because the idea of a person turning into a bunny is so mystically ridiculous that you just HAVE to find out if the game will actually do it. And last, it's not a chore, babbul gems and any other collectible in the game are often set behind or around fun activities and are often there to lead you to even more fun, both systems rely on each other for the sake of the player, and holy hell they actually made me collect 'em all lol. (Also there's usually armor or some other benefit in it for you)
He's not specifically complaining about the feather, is complaining that the feather in the game is actually just useless. He's aware that it depends on the game making certain items useful or useless
Collecting feathers is basically ALL you do in A Short Hike and that game is brilliant. A feather (or anything really) can be as important as the game designers want them to be
i think you should feel what you feel. it's part of the authenticity that makes your channel so great. you have to be you. feeling two things at once is only human
You gave it the chance it deserved: it's first chance. Whether or not someone decides to give a game a second chance is on them, but no game "deserves" it.
Yeah and it's not "Unfair" to review a game when it releases. That's the state the devs give the game to the player and that's the state the devs want their 70-100 bucks for. If they didn't want people to review the game in that state they shouldn't charge people money for this state. If the game needs another year to be good, delay it a year.
19:00 The dissolution of the studio was probably a foregone conclusion. There's a reason they shuttered almost immediately after release. With so much sunk cost and apparently a development cycle riddled with issues they just weren't keeping around as a subdivision. Maybe there was an internal goal to keep them afloat but, if it existed, I'm sure it was wildly unattainable. The decision to close a studio -- especially when there's a larger corporation overseeing them -- doesn't generally happen overnight.
I don't understand how people didn't see the emptiness prior to launch. The trailer showed nothing but an open world, devs took the term too seriously lol.
Ya know,I would normally feel bad for the devs. But I think even the developers of this game, knew it would flop and didn't bother to put passion in it
I’m a mobile field mechanic and I listen to your videos with a headphone in and don’t watch the screen. I have such little faith in this game that when you played the “beautiful” music substitute I thought it was actual in game music and had to stop what I was doing to check if I was right.
Im struggling to understand how one empty open world game is crucified (this game) whilst another empty open world (botw for example) is the best thing since sliced bread? Crazy.
I have a rule that I loosely stick to, where the amount of money I spend on a game, that will be the amount of hours I hope to play it. Games like BOTW/TOTK exceed that rule by a large margin, but I seriously do not believe Forspoken would ever get its money’s worth, even at 50% off.
Dude... of course you can switch off the loudspeakers in the PS5 controller... it's one of the recommended measures to prolong battery runtime (and I personally don't like those speakers anyway).
Yeah that town/city environment is full of big flat surfaces with tiling textures. It's like they didn't get the chance to flesh it out, or they did but it bogged down performance too much because the engine wasn't capable of presenting the high fidelity experience that other games do while being such a large environment. It's like they needed Nanite but didn't have it, but tried to make a game that should've used it anyway, with their own hobbled amateur LOD streaming implementation (is there even any LOD on there for scene geometry?) The lighting also leaves something to be desired, there's a lot of shadowing that looks like shadowmapping on the environment, when they should've baked the lighting so it could include some bounce lighting and whatnot, that would've gone a long way toward making their environments look more interesting, even with the tiling textures and flat polygonal surfaces. Rendering surfaces with lightmapping like that would be more performant than just blanket cascade shadowmapping the whole scene. Note to all future game developers: DON'T USE SHADOWMAPPING ON STATIC WORLDS, USE BAKED LIGHTING, (AKA LIGHTMAPPING) WITH LIGHT BOUNCE SIMULATION, AND COMBINE SHADOWMAPPING FOR DYNAMIC ENTITIES EXCLUSIVELY WITH YOUR LIGHTMAPPING ON SCENE GEOMETRY. IT WILL LOOK WAYYYYYYYYYYY BETTER THAN THIS!
no amount of patching and hotfixes can fix a hollow & boring game, Pyrocynical I believe had asked on his stream who this game was for and what was the actual vision they had when developing it and I just don't think they had resulting in a game for people who don't go looking at a games content beyond surface level, exploring the game world in Origins and Odyssey is massively satisfying/interesting, "exploring" the game world in forspoken looks like you're just ticking off boxes to reach the end game. I'd like to say in a few years once this games price is reduced I'll check it out but the gaming industry no longer does that & at a full AAA price tag I just don't see how you get enough value out of this title for it to actually be worth it.
Yeah, his video of Forspoken gives you a good glance at all the aspects of the game, because it allows you the experience it alongside him. The combat looked so boring and easy so idk what Luke is on about. Maybe he likes this action type of combat?
@@amberbaum4079 I don't know if it's the combat that is shallow or if it's how the combat encounters are designed that makes it feel bad, I just cannot understand what the actual vision of this game was or what the team behind it envisioned it to be but whatever this is, most certainly sucks & the dialogue does not help. iirc Pyro liked the combat at first but after a few hours you could clearly see he was just trying to reach the end & bored af in the process, what a disappointing game.
Yeah. I get what you mean about when a game becomes a target it never shakes it. I'm STILL hearing about FF XIII even after all this time. While it has problems, I can still enjoy it.
Actually pissed off that both Forspoken main game AND the DLC had cliffhangars for a sequel but the studio shut down I actually got all the trophies, really love this world and story but now its just an incomplete story
The problem with modern gaming is that people can't form their own opinions they'll just parrot whatever their favourite streamer/content creator says. Most of the people that hate this game didn't play it and when you watch someone who's shitting on a game or overly praising it, that will automatically make your brain think that its bad or good because you're being told so by someone that you want every word from to be gospel. This game failed because it feels like it was written by edgy twelve year olds but Honkai Star Rail was massively successful and also feels like it was written by edgy 12 year year olds right down to the your mom jokes. What's the difference between those two games? What streamers told people to think of them.
Honkai is stupid in writing but has some charm and is definitely not as cringy as this, same with Genshin, the anime talk is cringy we all know that, but at the same time, we already used to it and know what to expect from it just by looking at the games, when u see honkais or Genshin design you know the dialog is going to be very animey, this feels like real live cringe, and that makes it really hard to consume for some people
My favorite cope for this game is the video about how the combat isnt trash because it has things like combos and you can experiment with the powers. So it has the bare minimum for a combat sandbox and that makes it great.
@@EntityXe Having 1 attack chain into another is just basic action combat and having a wide selection of options isnt meaningful if you have no reason to delve into those options. I know no one will read this, but in regards to Luke saying that we’ll feel bad if we complain about a game and the people get fired… They don’t have to get fired, they could reevaluate what went wrong, improve training, etc. Someone being fired isn’t necessarily the only path after a poor performance
did they make a dlc focused after the main game where you still play with Cuff, AFTER the fact he was revealed as the villain in the ending? H'wat? also I like how it said it took place after the main game but also leads into a history flashback.
Okay, sure, but neither of them forgot that incident. Meanwhile, she is happily listening to his advice and he is just chatting and helping her. Where is their character motivation for this?

When hajime tabata left luminous productions after talking for years about how they were going to make a game with the ffxv engine, I knew that without him, any possibility of it being decent disappeared. He was the one that fixed the shitshow that was the ffXV development into an actual releasable game, I suppose he burned out and saw what this project was going to be.
Not many people seem to comment on how brown the entire thing is Man that’s a lot of effort that went into making the world as boring to look at as possible
I will say that technically gives the impression of middle english houses and the brown is a result of a dying world. Though I agree. Narrative justification does not excuse poor execution.
The biggest problem of this game is that it has no soul. The architecture is boring, the vast open spaces are mostly empty and lack NPCs. This game feels as if its sole purpose was to be a tech demo.
this poor man sacrificing himself to confirm that the game that was bad a few months ago is in fact still bad. I salute your sacrifice and thank you for your service o7
"...people thought maybe I was unfair or too hard on the game... but before we start, know that the audio is non-optimal because I can't shut the characters up on the controller, but lets see if this game is awesome yet" lol, yeah, it's going to be the same game!
I just finished the game and put in over 40 plus hours and i really enjoyed. Just starting DLC and i really don’t get all the negativity around this game. I didn’t mind the chatting of the characters and besides you could turn that right down so hardly a big deal. I thought gameplay was fun, story good. Lots of extra stuff to do which was ok too. i really enjoyed.
I feel giving players the OPTION to turn off the interactions is already a red flag. We have other games with the same function like NieR- which is also published by SE. And they were able to make those interactions both natural and entertaining. Hell, the characters Kaine and Weiss have the exact same relationship as Frey and Cuff. And people LOVE hearing their banter. Game play wise it is fun. Exploration does seem like it could be better, just look at both Witcher 3 and NieR (with Automata apparently been inspired by Witcher 3 with how they tackled exploration) And Story wise, it might just be me. But it's a simpler, kind of child friendly, version of Drakengard 3. Change 4 Tanta to 5 Intoners and their disciples. A cursing, selfish main character. Switch a Talking Cuff on the right wrist to a silent flower on the right eye. Add adult humor. violence and gore.(but somehow still be beautifully depressing) Also multiple endings. With the "true" ending being one of the most BULLSHIT boss fights you will ever face.
"You could turn it right down" and it's still too much. I'm with the guy above, your standards are super low if you're accepting this below mediocrity as good.

When I first saw this game I tried its demo version on the PS5. I was completely confused by it. There was gameplay alright, but it was very confusing, and there was no story, and I had no idea what was going on, and the controls were really bad, and there was a huge bunch of controls for stuff you could do, with little to no tutorials, and it was overall a very confusing mess. Then it suddenly hit me: "Wait... this might actually not be the _beginning_ of the game. This seems to be starting from somewhere in the middle of the game." I quickly checked some first part of the game's playthrough by someone on youtube and, indeed, the game starts _completely_ differently than the demo. Apparently the demo starts from way into the game, which makes it very confusing, because so much is presented to you without any introduction, without any proper tutorials, most of the time without any explanation, creating this huge confusing mess. I find it ironic that the developers probably thought that it would be a good idea to showcase the actual full-on game mechanics in the demo, the actual full-on gameplay, in order to show the player what playing the actual game is like when you advance enough in it, but it just ends up being extremely confusing. Needless to say, that demo most definitely did _not_ entice me to buy the game.
How It Should Have Ended... Luke Stephens edition: Luke: We'll see if they fixed the things that were broken before! **Luke's controller spouts F-bomb laden dialogue from protagonist** Welp, I guess that answers it. Bye folks!
Hey Luke! I have a question for you. Would you rather Be: A revealed chosen one with magical powers. That is also part parkour runner/warrior/royalty. While ALSO being able to bend the elements to your will and also teleport. While also being loved and praised by the people of the a fantasy world. While also technically being in charge of everyone and being able to do what you want because in the culture of that world, everyone views you as some sort of demi-god. OR!!! Would you rather be: A homeless person living in the heart of New York. With no magical powers what so ever. But you also have no job. No money. No medicad. No family. No friends. No one cares about you. And you also get bullied by Criminals from the early 80s. And you also may end in jail. And your life sucks so much that you try to "go offine" in the beginning of the game. BUT you also have a stray cat as a pet named after a Simpspons character of the opposite gender? Edit: also as a fun fact. Spolier warning!! You have to make this exact choice in the game. The only thing that ties fray to new york and is also her only connection to that world is... a cat... so... yeah... Personally i'd say screw the cat. I want to be a demi-god.
Hey Luke! Big fan of the channel been watching for a while now, always make sure to take time out of my day when you post something new. I was wondering if you were interested in doing a Final Fantasy 16 review? Having a blast with the game and would love some of your skeptical critique on the game
I desperately wanted to love this game. The story seems cool, the characters COULD be fun, but it really feels like when you’re reading through a story arc in comics and you can tell that they hired writers who either don’t understand or genuinely don’t like the characters. Athia is cool. Frey is cool. The Cuff is cool. The people who wrote them are not.
I had a better time with Forspoken than FF16. After so much negativity I tried Forspoken and gave up after 2 missions. But later went back to it and was pleasantly surprised - the dialogue gets better, the story more intriguing with twists and turns, and the combat and traversal were fun. It's not an amazing game, but is a good one. FF16 was still boring me after 20 hours.
My favorite new trend in gaming. "you need a next gen console to buy this $70 online only game with terrible performance and an e-shop and if you complain about any of it I'll call you a judgemental ass and nothing will change."

How does this keep happening? Forespoken, the Gollum game, Redfall, Cyberpunk 2077... like why are these big triple A games with huge budgets turning out to be unfinished garbage?
My experience is that while this game isnt great, especially considering its from SquareEnix who can do better, it does pretty much give me what i was looking for. A cool magic system with lots of spells and crazy visual effects. And btw he only has 2/4 of the magic types in this video. So while there were a lot of other mistakes, the thing i expected i got. Overall i think it got bashed a bit harder than necessary
Speaking of magic types, that is poorly pace. IN most RPG, they given you most of your magic types early on or simple enough that you can pick up by just knowing the name (Check Chrono Trigger for the former, and Persona for the latter) Forspoken, you have to defeat these bosses to get the magic types, and when you reach the final one... you barely have time to dick about and explore the new magic type. Hell, they drop a bunch of XP as the game dev knew that you wouldn't have time to gather tham naturally
@Max128ping I agree the pacing is not great. The curiosity to see the new spells drives you to ignore other content and it feels like a race to finish the bosses
You briefly touched on this at around 12:15... the price of the game, and how they charged the full AAA price for this title. Do you think, if they charged less (for example, remember how Remnant 2 was only $40 USD at launch) people would have been more forgiving on this game?
Unpopular opinion here, I actually quite enjoyed this game granted the story was fairly cheesy and it definitely wasn’t worth the launch price tag but I did enjoy the powers and I quite liked cuff also the traversal wasn’t the best it was definitely fun and unique especially when you get late game and can use many different powers to roam the world, I think this game gets a lot of hate and I don’t think all of it is justified it can be fun the same way prototype or just cause can be fun you just get in and dick about
How does it make sense for the supposedly “post game” dlc to have cuff? Didn’t he turn into a big golden demon? It can’t be after the game if the ending hasn’t happened yet, right?
Firstly, there’s nothing wrong with Dates in a cake. 👌 Forsaken looks like it’d be worth playing once it’s cheap enough. I rarely listen to the moaners as that just is what they do, same with the super praisers. I listen more to the guys in the middle, the ones that find the good and bad, the balanced reviewers. So, I’ll wait. Love the improvised music in this video 😂👍
@@usonohoshi6165 mayo is just eggs and cooking oil, sometimes with a bit of something else for flavor. The two primary ingredients are things you would use in a cake, so it works in a cake as long as you don't screw up the ratios too badly, but you could just use more eggs and oil instead. Mayo works for grilled cheese for the same reason.
I personally feel it wasn't s bad a game. I enjoyed playing it not long after launch. It wasn't perfect by any stretch but I found it fun. It had a good twist or 2 in the story. Some more predictable than others. I feel too many people slated it without ever actually playing it
I'm giving you a like not only because you paid for that sad game, but also for your reinterpretation of what seemed like Sephirot's theme xDD. And about the responsability that you have towards the outcome of the studio... What can I say? I repect the fact that you are careful with what you say. That's something that a ton of "reporters" and just people with influence should try to do, which in today's day and age, sadly isn't the norm. But if you were being honest, and had reason to critique (which you had, believe me), and factually the game had it's issues, that's their responsability for making the product. It's not yours for pointing it out. If some food is poisonous due to a bad ingredient the cook used, is it your fault if the cook is fired due to you pointing out that it may be poisoned and so it shouldn't be served nor consumed? Or is it the cook's fault for not checking and making sure everything is as it should be? I'd say it his own fault for serving something without being sure that it is good for consumtion. So I respect that you take your words and influence with responsability, that isn't something bad. But if the product that they sold wasn't up to the standarts for its price, that's what it is, and as they were the ones that made said product, it's their responsability to take the consequences. If a product, be it game, movie, food, whatever, is being critiqued without fundament, later on, when it goes on sale, the public will see if that critique is valid or not. Right now the only example that comes to mind is Henry Cavill "in The Witcher". When it was announced that he was going to interpret Gerald, a lot, believe me, a lot of fans of the franchise were not happy about it and a lot of critique and worry generated around it. But once the show began, and people saw his acting and how he interpreted the character, all that critique disappeared. Or at least 90% of it vanished. Why? Because he proved it. If the cringe dialogue from Forspoken had only been that one dialogue from the trailer, but the rest of the game it was well written, I'm sure people would have just memed about it and that would be all. But that same level maintained throughout the game, so it was a valid critique, which was proven correct once the game released. So don't feel too bad about it, because you didn't trasnform a good game into a mediocre one. It is one, and you just pointed it out with valid criticizm and valid points.
If a company releases a game, review it, I don't understand the idea that reviews at launch are unfair or that games should get a second review, especially for single player games. Me, I somewhat liked Forspoken, as far as the traversal went and the visual flair with the spells was excellent but the game was lacking in everything else. I think most of the reviews were fair.
Yeah if companies didn't want their games to be reviewed in the state it launched it, they shouldn't launch it in that state and charge full price for it. If they want $70 for something, then it's completely fair to review it then and tell people if those 70 bucks are justified or not. If a company doesn't want a bad review because their game is broken beyond belief, then they shouldn't be releasing their games broken beyond belief.

Reviewing a game at launch is in no way 'unfair' to the game. That is how the company released it to the public, and thus, that is how it was meant to be experienced, and reviewed.
EXACTLY. don't show to public that which you are not prepared to receive feedback, positive or negative for.

This point is completely true. Sure, review scores could change after patches and DLC, but what if they don't. what if the company gives up. The review at launch is the minimum we know how the game will be quality wise

Of course it’s fair to review a game at launch. It’s also totally fair to go back to games after updates to see if they’ve been improved. I’d love for every game to be good at release, but I also appreciate when developers put work in to improve games after release, even the ones that released in a shitty state (someone mentioned Cyberpunk I believe, lol).

the base for mayonnaise (eggs, vinegar/lemon, oil and salt) are very much ingredients perfectly useful for a cake, while the mayonnaise stabilizer can help with cake structure or moist retention, and pickle juice can be useful for the saltines of the brine (though this one is debatable)
If you wanna go for gross or mismatch flavors, go for chilli flakes, toothpaste, baby powder and uncooked rice

"Balls in a jar" 22:42 a banger, going to need an official release of all that
11:30 It's true.
(So why should the player care?)
And the story didn't really work.
Andromeda is a fine game with several issues, but as a Mass Effect title it’s far from great.
No, it was as bad as people were saying it was. Did you even play it on release? I got a refund and EA attempted to give me this game for free on Origin. The game was so bad that I declined.

Can i just say... u voicing over the music was pure GOLD and the best part of the game 😅

The dissolution of the studio was probably a foregone conclusion.
Never feel bad for calling a spade a spade, Luke. As long as you're being honest to the best of your capability, you're good.

Exploration does seem like it could be better, just look at both Witcher 3 and NieR (with Automata apparently been inspired by Witcher 3 with how they tackled exploration)
And Story wise, it might just be me.
Your standards are low
"You could turn it right down" and it's still too much.
I'm with the guy above, your standards are super low if you're accepting this below mediocrity as good.
Low standards you have
@@77_ACE. Or it could be i just liked the game and thats ok to have different taste. I certainly never criticise someone for liking games I think are over rated. Its all about personal choice. I enjoyed the game. Did i say that its my favourite game or that there are not better games no I didn’t.
This seems to be starting from somewhere in the middle of the game."
I quickly checked some first part of the game's playthrough by someone on youtube and, indeed, the game starts _completely_ differently than the demo.
Luke Stephens edition:
Luke: We'll see if they fixed the things that were broken before!
**Luke's controller spouts F-bomb laden dialogue from protagonist**
Welp, I guess that answers it. Bye folks!
Hey Luke! I have a question for you. Would you rather Be:
A revealed chosen one with magical powers.
OR!!! Would you rather be:
A homeless person living in the heart of New York.
I want to be a demi-god.
its sad that some people are just so accustomed to broken releases to the point that they will call a new release review "unfair"
You gotta be kidding me. What?!
Troll or insane. Either way, seek help
My favorite new trend in gaming. "you need a next gen console to buy this $70 online only game with terrible performance and an e-shop and if you complain about any of it I'll call you a judgemental ass and nothing will change."
I almost wanna play this game just to experience the horrible dialogue for myself
Please don’t. It’s not worth it
As much as I'd like to see a trainwreck play out, I ain't paying for this shit, Not condoning it but just pirate it.
@@atharvadeshpande4749I'm not even sure I wanna pirate it, TBH
There are cheaper and less painful ways to cringe to death, my friend!
@@atharvadeshpande4749 of course it m gonna pirate, I’d never in my life would $70 fucking dollars for this shit💀 let alone even $5, nice it’s free I’ll play it for like 10 maybe 20 minutes to see the cringe for myself then never play it again
IN most RPG, they given you most of your magic types early on or simple enough that you can pick up by just knowing the name
(Check Chrono Trigger for the former, and Persona for the latter)
Forspoken, you have to defeat these bosses to get the magic types, and when you reach the final one... you barely have time to dick about and explore the new magic type. Hell, they drop a bunch of XP as the game dev knew that you wouldn't have time to gather tham naturally
@Max128ping I agree the pacing is not great. The curiosity to see the new spells drives you to ignore other content and it feels like a race to finish the bosses
The fact that there is a prologue to the DLC made me laugh the hardest. Isn't the main narrative to the epilogue considered enough of a prologue?
the protagonist being so cringy instantly made me not even want to bother with this game lmao
You're analogy around 19:00 was more along the lines of service was great but the food was terrible..
This game doesn't suck, the people that don't like it are just racist and can't deal with a strong independent black woman as a lead character.
On Metacritic the new review are hiting 8's. I like the game but its 7 because of the dev's was being lazy with this game.
No

Hey Luke. Youve come a long way since the Eve Stealth Bomber days
No amount of patches can fix unlikeable characters
You briefly touched on this at around 12:15... the price of the game, and how they charged the full AAA price for this title.
Do you think, if they charged less (for example, remember how Remnant 2 was only $40 USD at launch) people would have been more forgiving on this game?
Unpopular opinion here, I actually quite enjoyed this game granted the story was fairly cheesy and it definitely wasn’t worth the launch price tag but I did enjoy the powers and I quite liked cuff also the traversal wasn’t the best it was definitely fun and unique especially when you get late game and can use many different powers to roam the world, I think this game gets a lot of hate and I don’t think all of it is justified it can be fun the same way prototype or just cause can be fun you just get in and dick about
No, even just comparing it to Just Cause or Prototype disqualifies your opinion from any further discusion.
The dirt in the eyes is easily explainable: she's a student of Dale Gribble
I would really like to have a game like Forspoken.. But good.
Final Fantasy
@@jakilla23 nah, not that. I mean I really enjoyed XVI, very good game, but that is not what I mean
How does it make sense for the supposedly “post game” dlc to have cuff? Didn’t he turn into a big golden demon? It can’t be after the game if the ending hasn’t happened yet, right?
You beat him and bind him to your arm as punishment. He's so impressed that you beat him that he agrees to help.
Firstly, there’s nothing wrong with Dates in a cake. 👌
Forsaken looks like it’d be worth playing once it’s cheap enough. I rarely listen to the moaners as that just is what they do, same with the super praisers. I listen more to the guys in the middle, the ones that find the good and bad, the balanced reviewers. So, I’ll wait.
Love the improvised music in this video 😂👍
Surprisingly same with Mayo. Apparently it makes cakes more moist.
18:10 Respect - for having integrity - for the sake of the audience and developers. Keep on brother.
Best part of Forspoken was that music! Amazing! Great job composers! Oh wait...
What happened?
I never played Forspoken, but it's open world seems like the COMPLETE opposite of Elden Ring.
I still like Forspoken, and hope for more. I enjoyed it!
I personally feel it wasn't s bad a game. I enjoyed playing it not long after launch. It wasn't perfect by any stretch but I found it fun.
It had a good twist or 2 in the story. Some more predictable than others.
I feel too many people slated it without ever actually playing it
Luke has helped me avoid several games I may have bought - so easily worth the like.
never bring a gun to a "pocket of dirt" fight
