Honestly, the Tentacruel question was the hardest one in Hard. The rest were pretty obvious changes, but Tentacruel was a minor shade swap for one part that I'm not sure I'd notice even if I knew it was swapped. I only missed that one and the Legendary Bird question.

Same here honestly, I picked Zapdos first but realized that Zapdos' shiny did look like that in the original sprites so.... I went with Articuno because Articuno is a light shade blue but somehow he looked purple on the video.
Then it was Zapdos so that's fun.
I love how when it got to the bonus question, I looked in horror, then go to normal to pick the right one, and then immediately went back into looking in horror at them.
I'm surprised they never brought up #6, since that's Galarian Mr. Mime colors.

I’m always so shocked how they get such easy ones to me wrong but I’ve loved shiny hunting for so long I guess I’ve had a lot more time to learn them and exposer. Thanks for another one of these
i love doing these quizzes along with seeing tos and mimik's reactions to your tricks, got 10/11 and was only tripped up by venomoth for some reason!!

Gen 1 shinies have always been so great! And as a shiny hunter ( *and absolute nerd* ) i got all of them right! Though i ALMOST failed the Tentacruel answer, i just got it right because i thought the tentacles were a bit too bright 😅 ( man, i didn't remember the tentacles were actually that bright )

I absolutely LOVE these quizzes. When Rapidash popped up for the Blue buddies, I immediately knew that it was the fake, because I used it on my Legends: Arceus team, and I remember that its flames were a pale purple, so the literal minute it was on screen I was like, "Its Rapidash". Please never stop making these quizzes, because I plan to use these for my friends and siblings, and I would LOVE to see how they do with Gens 2-8

I always thought rapidash's flames were silver and not purple until somebody pointed it out
I only knew Rapidash's shiny form because I remember vividly egg farming ponyta's in platinum trying to get a shiny.

I love these quizzes you put together. Its a fun way to test my knowledge as a shiny hunter. I usually wind up with one or 2 wrong per quiz. The Mimes did not trick me because I've found so many in pokemon go, its embedded in my brain lol
This one, i was only wrong on the tentacruel one on this one.
Also was today years old when i learned Doduos neck color is gender dependent.

Number 6, 10, and 11 definitely got me, but I did feel like Tentacruel looked a bit more purple as well.
These quizzes are so fun. The only one that tripped me up was Tentacruel, but shot in the dark I got it right. Pretty confident about all the others. I spend all my free time shiny hunting so I know shinies pretty well lol

I finally got every question right on a quiz! These are always so much fun
Question number 6 was SO hard, much much harder than all of the questions that came after imho.
And I say that while I love the Tentacool and Tentacruel line, both the OG colors and the shinies, that I have hunted for.
At first I thought something was off with one of them but I couldn't decide which... so I thought the answer was Bellsprout because of its mouth.
I also got the legendaries (and Pidgey) wrong, but that one was still easier in comparison. Fitting difficulty for the last master question though! The Zapdos totally tricked me in blending so well with the others so I went with the idea that Moltres' beak and legs or talons were another shade of pink for some reason.
9 out of 11, for a generation that globally isn't my favorite, not too bad in the end!
10/10 + bonus. Honestly the only one I wasn't sure of was the fighting type one.
I think gen 1 is the only game I know most of the shinies for, and I did get all the questions right.
Excited to do worse in the rest of them!

Then you didnt, because zapdos IS orange in a lot of the games and artwork. Nothing was right on the question, so its impossible to get it right

This is trippy since I remember most of these shinies from gen 4. In 3D they changed quite some colours.

3. B - dragonair is actually super cool with its pink but has gold gems (dragonite is green to be fair)

5. A easy venusaur is way more orange in the plant
6. the only one i know right for sure is victrebeel (unless that green leaf at the end is intentionally miscolored and not an editing error) the others i am struggling to think if they have slight variance or not i do fee like one of the bellsprout line was off but i cant remember wich one i also think one of the tentacools was slightly darker or lighter..... im leaning towards one of the tentas but i know if one is wrong then the other is right very tricky to tell with these renders what is color and what is lighting effect....... locking in C
7. B easy i would say its more silver in most renders/models though the purple tint in home is a bit odd
8. A so so easy i have him in the weird minecraft looking switch game (pokemon quest?)

10. i know articuno is pale blue, moltres is burnt chicken, zapdos im not sure but pretty sure its still yellow or maybe a jolteon like green, pidgey im confident is a yellow/gold tint but again these home models shading makes me less certain about which is the correct shade and which may have been lightened in a way i dont recognize... i think i will lock in A articuno though, i do not remember the beak being that color
bonus: 4 or 9 i know its green (4 is the one i would prefer to be real i like when all colors change on certain pokemon)
also also to be fair dratini is also pink and you get it as a reward for beating white forest in pokemon white 2!

so two wrong for me maybe a halfsie on the mr mine since i went over 10 seconds deliberating
i did have a phase where i was ranking all shiny pokemon in order though and finished most of gen 1 and 2 i would probably have more trouble with later gen shinies

Through question 6, I have answered every question right! Seeing them answer A and B made me VERY nervous, but that just made my excitement even better lmao

Aced the quiz! Hardest one was the Tentacruel, and even then I got it in the end. I knew something looked off with those two, so I knew it had to be one of them, and after some serious thought I remembered Tentacruel wasn't leaning so much toward purple like Tentacool does.
These quizzes are great! Definitely did better on this gen 1 quiz than the others. Got 10/11. The Tentacruel was the only one that tripped me up. From doing Zapdos raids in PoGo I made a trick for telling shiny Zapdos apart. I literally never pay attention to the body. Only the beak and feet. Which ironically I would've figured it out quicker if I paid attention to the body this time, but the beak and feet weren't saturated enough either so I could still tell it was off. 🤣

I tied with Mimik, it's so funny tho cuz I made the exact same mistake as TOS on the dragonair one and I also picked kingler and then the tentacruel one also messed me up.
The legendary birds stumped me. But only because the "fake" Zapdos is but a subtle tinge darker than the real shiny - Zapdos' shiny has always been obviously darker to me, especially in the feet. Plus, shiny Pidgey depicted here is a little desaturated - it's supposed to be a bit more golden/yellow (but that is probably just the way the HOME sprite was made.)

I absolutely love these quizzes. I would love for special guests but Tos and Mimik always need to come back to duke it out lol, I love their rivalry and reactions. Gen 1 is probably going to be the easiest quiz since it’s the most familiar gen 😅

bro i deadass caught like 5 shiny Tentacruel and evolved them so when i saw this i was like "oh yeah these look good" and the betrayal i felt when you changed the tint hurt me so bad

Honestly, this one might’ve been harder if Let’s Go pika/eevee didn’t exist ^^; spent so much time shiny hunting in that game.
That’s why I got every question right. Only one that took me a second was tentacruel, but I remembered long before they revealed the answer that it didn’t match tentacool ^^ I figured I’ll do ok on some of the early gen ones, but I’ll prob fail miserably at gens like 5-7

Shiny god(9) and mr.mime, which was guess between 4 and 9.
I only missed 9 because I thought abra had been more pink, like alakazam. Tentacruel was difficult, but I had gotten lucky and found a shiny tentacruel in a recent randomized in Pokemon brick bronze(roblox.) Its my first shiny ever caught, and I will continue to catch more. This was a amazing video as always:D thank you Noki!
question 5 was SUPER easy for me, got it before seeing any other options, because I HAVE a shiny Venusaur that I caught in pokemon Go. I caught a shiny Bulbasaur for the mega evolution thing, randomly, and I've had it in pokemon home ever since, gonna keep it there until I can use it in a mainline game that isn't Pokemon Shield (because I can't transfer to Let's Go right now.)
Pretty proud of myself for getting all of them besides Tentacruel... though I was susd out by Tentacruel as well as Victreebel, if I stuck with it I could've actually had a perfect score but hey, I'll take it. Guess I know gen 1 shinies better than I thought I did.

Haven't played since gen 2, so I only knew about the first question. I was able to guess the correct answer on all except for 9 by looking for answers with matching pallets and picking the worse one.

Lawl question 10. Zapdos is my favorite shiny since i fainted one in leaf green not realizing what shinys were since they were still relatively new and the internet was really behind in Alaska.
Tentacruel was the only one I missed, for the simple fact that I had only seen it shiny a few times because I was never a fan of the pokemon itself lol.
