Ten minutes in each area of hisui to catch as many Pokémon as possible. Whoever catches the highest number of Pokemon per area wins. Alphas count for two points, and shinys count for three.

I love how PM7 went for shiny Espeon apparently not realizing it is one of the most controversial shiny eeveelutions. A lot of people dislike that alien green for Espeon.

Tbf, the 3d shiny color is much better than the sickly green Espeon had as a sprite.
I think it fits very well! Really shows how weird its concept is
The switch to 3d models actually helped Espeon I think. It doesn't look nearly as gross nowadays.
To be fair, while it’s easily the most controversial shiny among eeveelutions, it is still an eeveelution, which in itself still makes it pretty popular and gives it a really good chance. Even if the voting is technically about the shiny forms, some people will always let their bias about a species decide their vote. (I know that I would be guilty of that too, since I absolutely hate druddigon’s design regardless of colors, so anything against it would have taken my vote)
Someone needs to tell Katie and Tyler that this is the episode where John forgot what sandghast was so it can start being memed on in videos with clips from this 😂

If you do this type of round again, maybe add a third Pokémon as an option as a control? Then it could be really fun to see if the audience thinks either of your shinies are better than the chosen baseline

Maybe they randomly generated a Pokemon, and they have to work to surpass it regardless of how good or bad it is

No they caught shinys and then made the poll and put in which one they caught and then later they looked who won each round so a third option would be useless
or if they ever do that again, they should win each round with the % of vote of each round and then add 1 or 2 points for total % of vote (of all rounds % together)
I'm genuinely outraged that babysick ponyta got more votes than perfect Halloween child. Shiny Pumpkaboo is incredible!
If it were Kantonian Ponyta, it would be somewhat acceptable imo, but it was Galarian Ponyta. Pumpkaboo’s shiny is WAY better than Galarian Ponyta, plus much more fitting for October.

Honestly, my vote would've gone to Pumpkaboo. Shiny Galarian Ponyta feels very underwhelming compared to its standard look, whereas shiny Pumpkaboo is indeed incredible.
Personally, I like shiny Galarian Ponyta, its coulours are beautiful.

And people tend to pick pokemon that are in the earlier gens as they haev existed longer and bonded with the fans longer

Idea: for season 2, you should do this challenge except all the Pokémon are normal. That way you have to guess what the shiny looks like, and then catch the Pokémon. To make it easier, you could get 2 Pokéballs to throw, and then decide between the two Pokémon and choose one for the poll.
(And to make it harder, you can make it so that if you find any shiny Pokémon while searching, they have to be the Pokémon you go in with. And if you want to be EXTRA evil, you could make it so that the shiny Pokémon AREN’T shiny in the poll. Just a bit of revenge for John getting so many shinies.)

I took this poll and literally didn't realize that all of the pairings started with the same letter, lmao.
One thing I would have liked in the poll was if there was a picture of the regular form next to the shiny to tell the difference. There were a lot of them I forgot what the original colors were to gage if I thought it looked better
I mentioned how John and Michael forgot about Indeedee in the version of this competition where it was the Base Stat Totals that decided the point. John running into a shiny Indeedee and just blatantly ignoring it just makes me think of that moment.

The Pokédex: Bewear will often hug it’s trainer, but it’s so strong that it sometimes shatters bones.
I wonder if Michael would ever consider make a video about his team for every region. Basically, if he was the protagonist what would his team be regardless of effectiveness throughout the journey. The idea is to make a team of Pokémon that he would use without prior knowledge of what is to come.
An example would be my alolan team:
Starter- Incineroar
Alolan raichu
Mudsdale
Bewear
Ribombee
Alolan sandslash
everyone would love this but he would over think and be like well i like this one but its base stat total is really bad and isn't that good

It's funny that the more popular ones were the ones that Michael didn't anticipate. As soon as i saw what was caught i immediately saw how popular they were and weren't surprised.
My first ever shiny hunt (that I actually got the shiny) was a shiny eevee in either sword or shield. got in in 26 eggs, and I used the masuda method. I evolved it into umbreon-which still stands as my favorite shiny.
I was not expecting it to go to this tight of a final score. Excited to see how that final plays out
I feel connected to John's last catch, as while I was looking for I think a Mudbray for my dex, I found a full odds shiny Galarian Zigzagoon.
Also, is Mikey had lost to Sigilyph, he would've had two bad memories of it, first his Ultra Moon no catching challenge, and now this.
Even though this was posted 3 month ago this is my first time watching this and mandjtv Pokémen nice job on the video
