Lapis is honestly such a real person though, I love her cause she feels so real. She makes mistakes and horrible decisions cause of what has happened to her, it affects her relationships and when she finally gets the help she needs she can confess that she was wrong. And when she almost kills those other lapis’ Steven helps stop her and apologizes knowing that was mentally weak of her. I don’t excuse her actions but my god I love her.
I like Lapis, yet definitely agree too. She was a really cool character initially, but by the time she reached the peaceful barn and had to share with Peridot, she was so jaded.. Which I guess I understand given her traumatic experiences, but that doesn't make it any more pleasant to tolerate.

I love Raijack so much. I love the dynamic of Rarity being this upperclass high femme that when needed can throw a punch and AJs more down to earth yet kickass nature. Its so good. Applejack and Rainbow interacted a lot early on with their competitiveness however, they stopped being paired up in episodes together. Rarity and AJ IMO have much better chemistry and a more unique interactions.
I have never agreed more with someone's ATLA ship opinions, thank you. Loved Suki/Sokka because of their build up and because they were cannon, but totally agree about not liking Mai/Zuko. They had such a realistic falling out to me, so when they got put back together it felt like such a cop out... Therefore... Sokka/Zuko and Mai/Suki 🙏
imo, suki/sokka/zuko and mai/ty lee the trio have an excellent dynamic between them (in general and Especially in the boiling rock) and the stability between them to make a poly relationship last long term, while mai and ty lee have a long standing friendship that out shinned their fear of azula + the whole "angsty loner that's soft at her core" and "peppy sunshine girl that hide pain in the center" dynamic going on

Admittedly you're right in that Aang also just wasn't as aesthetically appealing to 7 yr old me as bad boy Zuko.

As much as I love ATLA, one of the few issues I had was that Mai could've been utilized more. Ty Lee was written decently but it always felt like the writers didn't know what to do with Mai outside of her being gloomy, part of Azula's clique, and Zuko's love interest. I don't ship Zutara (or Kataang) but it's easy to see why Katara was seen by many fans as a better choice for Zuko.

Funnily enough I agreed with almost all of your takes until the VERY LAST ONE with Lapidot. Now as much as I love all the fan content around them, I can't in good conscience put them in S Tier because of the stuff you mentioned, but I definitely think they can make it work with enough time. (And Gems have basically all the time in the universe so...) Low A Tier or high B Tier for me. Both of them still have some growing to do, but if Lapis can learn to be more patient and Peridot can do her best to respect Lapis's trauma, the two of them have great chemistry. They're not perfect, but they compliment each other surprisingly well.

21:22 Thank you!!! I first joined the show around the time of "In To Deep" (the end of the Cluster Arc), so I initially was fully on board with Lapidot. However, in the subsequent hiatus I watched some of the earlier content including the Barn Arc and by god, Amethyst and Peridot's interactions and chemistry are amazing. Legit some of my favorite episodes are the ones involving those two bouncing off of each other: Too Far, Log Date 7 15 2, Too Short to Ride, Beta, Back to the Kindergarten. They aren't just funny with each other, they legitimately help each other out through situations and help each other to grow. Amethyst helped push Peridot into discovering her powers. Peridot tried helping Amethyst when she was in a slump after losing to Jasper. Amethyst helped Peridot when Lapis took the whole gosh dang house. By contrast, a lot of Lapidot interactions felt...hollow? Like, obviously everyone's entitled to their own opinions on ships, but I remember being kind of surprised that the Lapidot shippers were celebrating Beta when I feel like the fact that the whole enemies-to-lovers angle that was the initial appeal of the ship (for me at least) was pretty much completely skipped. Lapis doesn't really ever go out of her way to help Peridot after that, and then when she actually finds herself at risk she takes the whole house and leaves Peridot behind. I don't think her Han Solo moment really makes up for it, especially since she didn't actually show any remorse. Tbh though I feel like part of the rub for me is that Lapis outside of her main story (overcoming her experiences with the mirror) was kind of...dull? Like, no where near as engaging as Peridot or Amethyst, in my opinion, at least in terms of humor and entertainment.

I'm aware of most of the fandoms, and yes for some reason I'm the one standing in a corner giving my all for Gwourtney because it's some kind of comfort for me. It seems like the perfect plot to me, after a love triangle the two realize how disgusting Duncan is and that he wants to attract attention,so the two of them, as the final season goes, become friends and along the way they realize they like each other, great story. Also, Heatherra doesn't work according to "Heather's Rewritten" a book by the author of the comic Total Trauma, instead they put in Gweather, who is also beautiful and of course Alejandro and Heather are queer-platonic. Although outside of the comic book universe I adore Aleheather, they have it all, they both live in my head as canon depending on the weather. I also think that Duncan should have been left with a character that made him reflect and improve as a character, but I guess it was easier to put him in prison lol. And Trent only deserved to be happy with someone, my headcanon is that he ends up finding someone outside of the show and he's happy.

I still have a hard time with Katara and Aang because I saw them as really good friends and I was disappointed when they liked each other. As much as I love ATLA, one of the few issues I had was that Mai could've been utilized more. Ty Lee was written decently but it always felt like the writers didn't know what to do with Mai outside of her being gloomy, part of Azula's clique, and Zuko's love interest. I don't ship Zutara (or Kataang) but it's easy to see why Katara was seen by many fans as a better choice for Zuko.

Honestly bestie I feel the exact same way about the ATLA ships. Like Aang and Katara were so cute together, I saw the soulmate energy. Zuko and Katara was (imho) only a ship because people liked the aesthetic aspect of them (they look good together, fire and water, angsty boi with the most compassionate human on earth), but like. I never saw a reason for them to actually be a couple. And Zuko with Mae being end-game?? She was so dismissive and rude to him. Like I honestly felt like she just wanted him to fit her expectations of him. Callous, rich, and willing to bend to her whims. I never thought Mae actually loved him beyond a high school level relationship. Honestly still so upset he didn't go back to the girl from Ba-Sing-Se (I don't remember her name, so sorry). She had so much chemistry with Zuko and he was willing to expose himself as a fire bender just to give her the best date night ever.
Missed opportunity to talk about Owen and DJ. They are the ultimate otp. My everything ship from day one. I love them sm.

Funnily enough I agreed with almost all of your takes until the VERY LAST ONE with Lapidot.
Now as much as I love all the fan content around them, I can't in good conscience put them in S Tier because of the stuff you mentioned, but I definitely think they can make it work with enough time. (And Gems have basically all the time in the universe so...)
Low A Tier or high B Tier for me. Both of them still have some growing to do, but if Lapis can learn to be more patient and Peridot can do her best to respect Lapis's trauma, the two of them have great chemistry. They're not perfect, but they compliment each other surprisingly well.

Thank you!!! I first joined the show around the time of "In To Deep" (the end of the Cluster Arc), so I initially was fully on board with Lapidot. However, in the subsequent hiatus I watched some of the earlier content including the Barn Arc and by god, Amethyst and Peridot's interactions and chemistry are amazing. Legit some of my favorite episodes are the ones involving those two bouncing off of each other: Too Far, Log Date 7 15 2, Too Short to Ride, Beta, Back to the Kindergarten. They aren't just funny with each other, they legitimately help each other out through situations and help each other to grow. Amethyst helped push Peridot into discovering her powers. Peridot tried helping Amethyst when she was in a slump after losing to Jasper. Amethyst helped Peridot when Lapis took the whole gosh dang house.
By contrast, a lot of Lapidot interactions felt...hollow? Like, obviously everyone's entitled to their own opinions on ships, but I remember being kind of surprised that the Lapidot shippers were celebrating Beta when I feel like the fact that the whole enemies-to-lovers angle that was the initial appeal of the ship (for me at least) was pretty much completely skipped. Lapis doesn't really ever go out of her way to help Peridot after that, and then when she actually finds herself at risk she takes the whole house and leaves Peridot behind. I don't think her Han Solo moment really makes up for it, especially since she didn't actually show any remorse. Tbh though I feel like part of the rub for me is that Lapis outside of her main story (overcoming her experiences with the mirror) was kind of...dull? Like, no where near as engaging as Peridot or Amethyst, in my opinion, at least in terms of humor and entertainment.

I'm aware of most of the fandoms, and yes for some reason I'm the one standing in a corner giving my all for Gwourtney because it's some kind of comfort for me.
It seems like the perfect plot to me, after a love triangle the two realize how disgusting Duncan is and that he wants to attract attention,so the two of them, as the final season goes, become friends and along the way they realize they like each other, great story.
Also, Heatherra doesn't work according to "Heather's Rewritten" a book by the author of the comic Total Trauma, instead they put in Gweather, who is also beautiful and of course Alejandro and Heather are queer-platonic. Although outside of the comic book universe I adore Aleheather, they have it all, they both live in my head as canon depending on the weather.
I also think that Duncan should have been left with a character that made him reflect and improve as a character, but I guess it was easier to put him in prison lol.
And Trent only deserved to be happy with someone, my headcanon is that he ends up finding someone outside of the show and he's happy.
