- Not much to add in this description. Just that Project Condor aka FBC Firebreak Trailer just dropped! This is a real quick impromptu reaction and analysis. See y'all next week for Lake House DLC!
I just did my own kind of analysis of the trailer right before you uploaded. Here’s the biggest thing I noticed. The blog for the game talks about a “jaguar in a box” weapon. Which means once unleashed it could even turn and attack its own master. You actually SEE that in this trailer… it’s the gnome. Right before those blast doors close at the end of the trailer you can see it. That familiar amorphous shape, that floating black entity that not even Jessie can kill, or control.
Same, another thing is I think it's set only a year in iirc, and we can see that things have changed. When our 3 characters are on screen we can see them wearing smaller hra's (except the one on the left), so those have been improved. And they said there will be content after launch but I think we're beating the hiss fully, either in the base game before any content updates, followed with other dangerous things like the mold, and escaped altered items. Or we'll be dealing with both but with the eventual eradication of the hiss in the oldest house.
That floating thing you're talking about is called an astral spike
The gnome is an OOP it gives you achievements when you carry it to the end of the game.
i understood this reference
On RUclips, J and L will go back/forward 10 seconds at a time. Left and Right will go 5 seconds. Comma and Period (aka < and >) will move one frame at a time.
The first two are also "real world" seconds -- so if you're watching a video at 1.5 speed and use L to jump forward, it'll jump forward 15 seconds on the video's timeline.
Hope that helps!
So we basically get to be the clean up crew helping Jessie get the House to open back up to the real world?
Nope, remember there were excursions long before Jessie arrived, Jessie arrived when the bureau was already being invaded by the Hiss.
The head janitor is on vacation. Someone has to mop the floors
@@GuharoLeon we can clearly see a Director Jessie picture frame behind one of the sticky note victims at 1:15 which means this is after Control not before
I love how I know all these locations with the first person perspective and it also looks more polished.
It's nice to see the assistants of the assistant getting their hands dirty
Man I was surprised by this announcement and trailer. And it looks fun af.
The sticky notes turning this into the secret Prey Prequel 😂
4:33 Jessie is the director, but nice to see the portrait in the background.
3 players makes it a bit easier to assemble a group of friends, and alot easier to matchmake
I just noticed that the words firebreak is made up of sticky notes.
There *has* to be a prop hunt mode in this!
I think one of the voice actors for Cole McGrath is narrating this trailer (the one from the first InFamous?). At first I thought maybe they had recast Trench after the passing of James McCaffrey, but it sounds like it's probably the voice of one of the Firebreak team members.
Sounds like an impression of James, I want to see his legacy live on
I will be happy to join your squad!
That music in the background kinda sounds like The Interrupters, thats badass if so, great punkpop shit
THE GNOME
The Gnome!
love that YT tag this as a control 2 video
Lmao its because there is no Tag for this game yet. I can't even find a tag for the original Control
That expedition file said 12-12-93. So it’s probably just an old document from an op back when Trench or Northmoor was in charge.
"Tactical gnome, coming in!"
I'd be terrified if I saw that coming at me
The Sticky Notes are Finally taking over!!!!
Dude that's the best part!
For future advice you can just click and drag the video scrub bar by the tip, as well as using the arrow keys (5 second increment) or carat keys (< >) for frame-by-frame.
First thought with three players was trinity and rule of three.
Second thought was that it’s a pun because a squad four or less infantrymen a fireteam.
Then way later I thought it’s three because Control/The FBC loves shapes especially triangles.
Supposedly this is set in 2025, which is several years after the events of Control. Is the FBC still under the same lockdown from that game? What has Jesse been doing all this time?
Game gonna come out in 2025 , it doesn't says what it's the time period in game
The FBC main HQ (The Oldest House) is still in a lockdown by the time of Alan Wake 2 event, and there is no indication on when the lockdown will be lifted. If I recall, the field agents in Bright Falls don't have any mean to directly communicate with the HQ, so pretty much every FBC field agents is in the dark with what really happened in The Oldest House.
@@halilcaninam1045 Remedy's games are usually set in the year they come out. Alan Wake 2010 took place in 2010. Control took place in 2019, Alan Wake 2 came out 2023, mentions how Alan has been gone for 13 years. So this is likely to be set in 2025 unless stated otherwise
The lockdown will probably be lifted during this game, or at some point of Control 2, the only concept art we have of Control 2 shows the entrance of The Oldest House, unless there's a copy of the entrance inside The Oldest House.
@@kinothemysticI think in the community first look it was said that the game takes place a year after, though I might have misunderstood or remember wrong. Would need to look at the video again.
I’m so excited for this!!
My roommate texted me saying even he would be down to play. Never touched a remedy game before
I play a lot of Left 4 Dead type games, especially Darktide so i couldn't he happier.
I'm so excited for this, I hope for an archivist easter egg
The look of the players are very cobbled together. It's like they've duct taped together whatever they've got lying around, which makes sense since they're still in lock down and can't bring in new resources (at least not from out dimension). There's a gun that looks like it's spraying out nails and metal bits. Supplies might be running dry and they're getting creative with whatever they have left.
And between the gnome and the players ability to speed forward to mow down hiss it seems like they're using altered items/objects of power and any parautilitarians they've got to fight back against the hiss. I wonder if that wrench we see being used as a weapon is an object of power.
This trailer leaves me feeling like this is the big push to finally eliminate the hiss once and for all. They've got a squad geared up with whatever Pope could cook up in a lab, Arish could salvage from their dwindling armory supplies, and Langston could find in the Panoptical collection.
I wonder what Jesse is up to during all of this?
As for the sticky notes, it's a good way of showing time has passed and this is happening well after events in Control. Anyone that has played Control can instantly look at that and have an immediate sense of where this new game would fit on a timeline. As for the sticky notes spreading outside of the Oldest House, that depends on if the notes are altered and duplicating themselves or if something in the Oldest House is duplicating them. It might be like the clocks threshold. The notes might be mundane, and some paranatural material or force is copying them.
Looking forward to this!
All hail our gnome overlords
This just popped up on my feed. Could not click fast enough.
That first location with the computer stations could be the control room in the maintenance sector or the main foyer in the investigations sector
sticky notes form a spiral btw
i been thinking these weird turd looking douds might be the "Dung Monkeys" from jessees universe but i'm probably reading into ti too much?
The Duck is mine.
That Duck will haunt you. Be careful
Oh my God finally new Control content after like 5 years !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I CANT WAIT
Really wish they used weapons instead of looney toons contraptions. Really feels like they wanted a Teen rating.
i’ve been waiting for your breakdowns and stuff 🚨
5:16 - Is that weapon firing black rock?
I literally got flashbacks of Emily saying “what if we weaponized black rock” 😭✨
I'm not a multiplayer gamer at all and honesty this trailer has not changed my mind. That being said Remedy made it so I'll give it the old college try.
Same im a little scared this game might flop specifically because of the number of PvE multiplayer games released the last few years
I'm not a multiplayer guy 'at all' but I'm going to stay up to date on it solely for lore reasons. Probably not a lot of story story but the environmental storytelling will work.
I'm on my way!
If this is remedy does deep rock galactic I’m gonna loose my mind
Let's go
Reminds me of TFC for some reason.
I thought about TF2 because it was the one I've played, but there's the rocket jump, heavy weapons, and even something that seems similar to a Demoknight (charging and attacking).
If this is the only way I get my buddy, A TF2 freak, to play remedy... missions accomplished
@powerhcm8 yeah I meant TF2, just got them mixed up in my head because I haven't played in years.
I swear if theres dlc they should make alan wake a dlc
Burn all the sticky notes!!!!!!!!!
W
0:19 No men!!! I was expecting your initial thoughts! You have to watch it!! it's mind blowing!!!
I hope we get to see new areas of the Oldest House and the thresholds. Maybe that mysterious "city" in the quarry.
Also, not to spoil anything, but during the Lake House trailer, there was a moment that made me go "WHAT THE HELL IS THAT THING!?"
that narrator sounds a bit like david hayter
DUCK! 1:04
I'm here for the sticky notes 🔥
Not gonna lie, I'm a little annoyed that you're fighting Hiss.
With the multiplying sticky notes now flooding the Halls and Jesse's portrait hanging there, I'm led to believe that this isn't happening too long after the events of the first game.
We were told that this wasn't "just" going to be a spinoff and that it would add a lot to the world. Making Hiss the main enemy in this case just sort of feels like they're reusing assets. Sure the tanks with giant crag rocks growing out of its mass is new, but the other enemies are still just Hiss.
We don't know all of the enemies yet
I think that theres probably new enemies that just arent being revealed in the trailer. Also I wonder if the fungus guys will show up.
I think it'll be cool to see the events of the hiss cleanup without it taking up too much of Control 2
the Hiss threat isnt over yet. Even says so after the first game ends. Hasnt even ended during Alan Wake 2. So of course the enemies would be Hiss.
The tone feels off from Control. This in not my type of game at all, but will give it a go on Game Pass.
tbh... this kinda waters down the control mystery...it just looks silly overall.
I mean we kind of had to clear our the Hiss before building lockdown is over. Something like this is necessary lore wise.
I this an Xbox exclusive. Are we bridge the gap between Microsoft and remedy, is the a chance they can get quantum break back or at least use its lore again
It very clearly shows the PS5 and Steam logos on the release date screen
@@AtaeHone your right I had watched the full trailer earlier and it only had the Xbox info on it this video does show them all I just excited but I am still hopeful the can get the game back and make it full cannon
Sadly I doubt that Microsoft will ever release publishing rights. But Remedy had a work around lore wise so we are good
This is just another spin-off of those zombie games. What’s the difference between the Hiss-infected here and a traditional zombie in mass media? No difference.
How does the Bureau has that many dudes to be corrupted/killed anyway
I've been complaining about the mortality rate of FBC staff for two seasons of Archivist lol
@@GamingUniversityUoG Btw dean, I’m seeing some interesting resemblance between the narrative leitmotif in Control and the current U.S. presidential election. I’ll enumerate a few: the contention for power between something blue and something red, between a boy and a girl (at least symbolically), and the friction between the two classes of gander dynamics of social beliefs they each respectively represents. Further, all of these hold a psychological significance from a social collective point of view if you know their origin story. I think this is another perfect example of this game’s archetypal storytelling. Would love to hear what you think.
idk, the vibe didnt fit the FBC.
you definitely gotta replay Control if you think it doesnt fit the vibe. The game is full of silly stuff.
They've been in lockdown for 6 years, with limited supplies, and Jessie is probably changing things up. So, it will be different from the bureau we saw in Control 1.
I'm always disappointed to see a studio I care about make either:
A standalone card game (gwent)
An online game (redfall)
