The 3 cardinal rules of magic are supposed to be unbreakable. 1: no true resurrection of others fully back to life. 2: no teleportation or spacial transportation of any kind. 3: no physically traveling to and from the fade. However there have been powerful magics that have blatantly broken and/or bypassed these rules. :The circulum infinitus breaks the cardinal rule of true resurrection. :The eluvians break the cardinal rule of spatial transportation : and the anchor breaks the cardinal rule of physically traveling to the fade.
I haven't watched the DA show so i can't say for certain but the eluvians and solas' ball is a technology before the veil exist. In fact solas' ball is the one that gave the inquisitor their mark, yes?
@Anders yes and because it is a power that existed long ago during the age of ancient elven days, they are capable of ignoring the cardinal rules. The circulum infinitus is able to break the cardinal rules because it uses blood magic.
I wonder if Crossroads were something of a prototype or just a concept that inspired how Fade is constructed. Like electric battery to nuclear power plant
Not the Fade, I don't think, since by all accounts that is a completely natural part of the word (or perhaps it arises from the vapors given off by lyrium). However, it could be that the knowledge used to create the Veil was based on the same space-time fabric manipulation that created the Crossroads, and maybe the eluvians themselves. In which case, it's possible that Solas was the primary architect behind all of them. If he specialized in space-time fabric magic back in the day, that would also come in handy for creating hidden sanctuaries where he could hide his people from the Evanuris.

For a true mage a rule is just a temporary obstacle
Correct, it must be said, however, that from what is known so far the Circulum Infinitus has never successfully completed any resurrection
where do these rules come from?
Just wanna say your Inquisitor looks very lovely~
there are some damn cool moment in this game

How do you get that avatar?
I don’t mind Morrigan but damn she irritates me in DAI, especially if you’re an Elf.
