- If you are going to do a video that highlights how fast hunting bows are, it's only right to follow up with a video showcasing draw cycle.
I spent hours at the shop shooting all eight of my test bows again and again to figure out which draw cycle I liked the best.
Here are the eight contenders, in the order I received them.
Mathews Lift 29.5
Elite Ethos
Hoyt Alpha X 33
Bowtech Core SR
APA Black Mamba 33
Bear Whitetail Maxx
Xpedition XLite 29
Prime RVX 34
Thank you to Canada Archery Online for letting me record the video in your shop. Check them out here - www.canadaarch... - Спорт
Love the new Prime bows
I shot the 2 new bowtechs (SS & SR), alpha X, 33 and lift 33. My top 2 ended up being the Core SS and lift 33...with the lift ultimately winning out because of how good the light weight felt in my hand. Draw cycle is very subjective though, so you can't argue with any of your conclusions. Really appreciate all the information you provide!
If you’re going to rate the smoothest bow you need to include it in your top 8. I’m referring to the Darton Sequel. You can actually see that the Hoyt isn’t as smooth when you draw it and yet you claim how smooth it is.
I always love your comparison videos and just can’t agree this time with most of these results.
Thanks for what you do though
Thank you. I would have to disagree with you on the Whitetail Maxx. Don't get me wrong it is an impressive bow especially for the money. But I did choose the Alaskan XT over the Maxx mostly for the smoothness of the draw cycle. But the Maxx is hard to beat. Well done. Thank you much for doing it.
No matter what , you will ALWAYS get use to draw cycle . I didn’t shoot prime . Shot the alpha x and core sr( comfort) back to back to back about 10-15 shots apiece …. They were identical draw cycle
I’m an Xpedition fan & all Xlite draw cycles were great to me. Also, I use to shoot Mathew’s many years ago, but I think their draw is the absolute worst. The hard dump at the end I can’t get over. I’m very much the opposite on draw cycle with Mathew’s, their dump for me (28.5) is rough. My Xpedition Smoke on 70# feels like Mathew’s lift at 60…..I’d love to shoot a prime. Never got a chance to shoot one.,….i shot that alpha x 30 & it was so smooth I couldn’t believe it was 70lbs
Lucas
I’ve been a loyal Mathews guy since 93 ‘ but currently? I shot a bunch of new hunting bows aaand guess what ? I chose the Hoyt Rx8 …I did shoot both Lyfts the Hoyt alpha X which has the same cam as the rx8
Bowtech CoreSR... Top speed or one of the top draw cycles with a simple allen wrench. Awesome bow in my opinion. Thanks for the comparison videos
Bowtech have just one problem…
Its a piece off shit, and zero warranty.
@SeuVagem5.56 I've had nothing but great experiences with their customer service. You absolutely get a warranty if you buy the bow new and it's registered in your name. What your saying is completely subjective and false. But we are on the internet after all where everyone can be expert
@@SeuVagem5.56 Just had a bowtech experience limbs warranted, no questions asked. Never needed a warranty other than that and that bow sat in my garage for years. Absolutely love my CoreSR, hoping it stays that way
Pse omen is faster
No brand makes it easier to make your bow feel how you want it to feel than Bowtech. Personally, I'd never shoot this one in performance mode if I didn't have to do the speed tests. But that's just me.
You are creating some really helpful & high quality concise reviews! - t/y
I appreciate the kind words
Where does the pse evolve ds stack up?
I'm disappointed in Mathews lift, didn't like the draw cycle
Wow. That Lift looks like it mated with a Ten Point Crossbow..🤦🏻♂️
The Ethos with smooth mods probably jumps to #1 and it's still faster than the Prime.
Like you said its subjetive but for me darton sequel and evolve ds beat them all in the draw cycle challenge. I dont like the elite draw and the bowtech sr (the ss is different) But what i like is your reviews. Thanks
The Sequel was my favorite at the ATA Show. Tried to get one for testing, but they declined.
👍
Funny you raved about the Darton Sequel 33 and it didn't even make your list.
That's 100 percent on the manufacturer. Lucas can ask but that doesn't mean they will send him him something
Correct. I definitely asked. They chose not to participate
@@ArcheryTalkVideo WoW, you would think they would want the publicity. Go figure
@@robertporteus7700 Darton is a fairly small brand. They can't fulfil every media request. Hopefully they will see the value in participating in the future.
PSE Mach 34 EC cam…
I thought the Mathews draw cycle was one of the worst to be honest.
I really like how linear the Mathews bows feel. The Lift is slightly stiffer than prior bows, but it's still one I enjoy shooting. Really, the only one I didn't like was the CORE SR in performance.
@@ArcheryTalkVideo i just feel the Mathews being stiff the whole way. I do agree the core sr in performance is tough. My favorite drawing bow was the alpha x this year for sure.
The Lift definitely isn’t, stiffest up front of any bow in the flagships 🥴
It's not as stiff as the CORE SR in performance mode. For me, what makes the Mathews bows so nice to shoot is how linear the draw is. It's so consistent...no big humps and valleys.
@@ArcheryTalkVideo I have shot the SR but not in performance so I will definitely try that! And I’m not a mathews guy BUT I thought for how linear and great the Lift shoots after the beginning of the draw cycle was the disappointing part, really a good bow. It reminded me a lot of drawing a Bear Kuma tho up front Lol
Athens
Was supposed to get one this year. For some reason, it didn’t happen. Can’t imagine why.
Lol too bad bowtech felt so threatened. @ArcheryTalkVideo
Why no PSE?
You'd have to ask PSE. I can't seem to get a response.
Prime 100%
I WISH YOU WOULD HAVE PUT THE DARTON SEQUEL 33 IN THE MIX. THERE DRAW CYCLE IS BETTER THAN ALL OF THESE BOWS. AND JUST AS GOOD QUALITY.
Me too. But Darton chose not to participate.
I just ordered the sequel 33. It does have a very smooth draw cycle.
Seriously, Core SR before the Core SS ?! You can't be serious. How can you be assessing comfort and just skip the Core SS??
I'm thinking Bowtech only sent him the Core SR...
@@KA-lm6sp You'd be thinking correctly. Even if brands would send in multiple bows...I don't have the bandwidth to test multiple bows from each manufacturer. I would much rather have had the SS, but Bowtech wanted me to test the SR. Probably because they knew it would shine in the speed test video.
Dudes so biased
Nailed it. The best part is I get the same comments on the speed test video, which had nearly opposite results. 🤷🏻♂️
Why so ?
@@coryedd3783 agreed 👍
Archerytalk SUCKS, these goofs totally ruined it.
I doubt many of the people trashing this guy have shot or owned as many bows as this guy.
