Look how slim & trim the ole city slicker Leroy Troy is!!!!! My grandpa and I watched him all the time on the Marty show thank y’all for all the great times!!!!
Reminds me of summers at my Mom's family in Auxier, KY my Grandpa and Uncle's would play Bluegrass on the front porch on Friday nights yee haw such great memories!
@Scott Beard -- Funny you come on here to dog Leroy. Apparently Marty likes what he does or he wouldn't be on the show. More so, Leroy is keeping what made country and bluegrass. Uncle Dave Macon was a COMEDY act. Not country, not bluegrass, COMEDY. He doesn't always play comedic songs. Take your negativity somewhere else. Leroy Troy is a true talent and one hell of a nice guy.
I know Leroy and it would upset him if he was to see that comment it upsets me because I learned the flips that he does from watching him and getting pointers from him it's sad some just don't know what class is
Leroy Troy is amazing. I hope he will come back to central KY soon, I was at Meadowgreen in January and the crowd was tiny because a major storm was in the forecast. Come back Leroy! I look forward to watching the show, I have been an RFD-TV fan for a few years now.
Well good on yer Marty, keeping good country music alive and in the public eye, this reminds me of the 60s grand ole opry feels just like that Ryman atmosphere, Brilliant.
What a delight to watch. My Dad used to play with Uncle Dave in McMinnville back in the day. I was too young to have ever seen what that might have been like. Thanks so much for this!! Wow. That was FUN!
For anyone interested in playing like this, remember the parts of the the song where the G chord will be played. As you're flipping, spinning, twirling, etc, by strumming the banjo open, you're using an alternate G chord. The hardest part is timing everything for your hands to be in the right place to strike the chord with it still flowing with the rhythm of the music
You can watch the Marty Stuart Show in England on Sky- 279: Rural TV. Pop goes the Country & Porter Wagoner Show is also on there. Check it out if you love country music.
if you ever get a chance to see him live do it! i met him at the Carter Family fold 2 summers ago , what a great guy we talked for about a hour ill never forget it !!
This is GREAT!!!!!!I didn't know Marty had a show on RFD-TV! Leroy is awesome because he's keeping the Dixie Dewdrop alive for today's generation just like how I'm keeping Stringbean alive for this generation. Five Stars!
Figured it out at last, now I can go to sleep. Leroy splits the difference between Grandpa Jones and Junior Samples. The comedy equivalent of the parallel universe.
I have been to Two Live Marty Stuart Shows in Texas and Oklahoma....Unfortunately, no Troy....Apparently he does not get to travel with the show....I wish he would...He has a lot to offer as an additional entertainment value.....
Leroy Troy is brilliant and great fun to listen to and to watch, but who's that very peculiar guy in that rummy garment, the strange haircut and the heavy makeup???
don't watch.......there are unfortunates in the world like myself who find his brand of shtick rather welcome. To your " out of style " thought.......my son and his friends are metal heads that love Leroy , odd that 18 year old boys get it and you don't . Give 'em hell Leroy and Lester .......don't look back.
I don't understand how Marty Stuart, who is such a great virtuoso on several instruments, who also has a band of virtuosos accompanying him brings a goofball like Leroy Troy on every single one of his shows. I can understand him bringing his wife on the show, but Leroy Troy? He can't sing, he can't play the banjo that well, what is he doing on this show? Marty Stuart must owe him some kind of huge debt, or perhaps Leroy has some really powerful blackmail pictures on him.
You act like Troy is the only one still playing Old Time Music. There are literally thousands of entertainers out there that play Old Time and Blue Grass Music, that are very capable of keeping that music alive, without being a cornball act. Now, if he came on the show and played the music without the stupid cornball "act", I'd be all for it...It's NOT the music he plays that I'm opposed to, it the stupid, cornball "act" he thinks he has to bring with it.................
I know Leroy personally and I'm here to tell you he isn't a cornball act he is keeping a tradition alive that has been around since 1840 it was done by the traveling Vadvills on the Minstrel Medicine Shows and handed down through the years to Uncle Dave Macon then eventually to Leroy, Aaron Stephens, and Me I'm going to ask you now if he didn't know what he was doing do you really think Marty would have let him on the show and one more thing you should try flipping a very old and expensive banjo in the air and tell me again it's a cornball act a monkey could do
Really? What you're trying to tell me is without Leroy Troy, there wouldn't be any Old Time, or Blue Grass Music? Really? hahahahaaaa Troy is a waste of precious air time that could be spent on real music. Let Marty or Connie, or their guest do an extra set. Troy is a cornball act that has been out of style since the 60s....
Look how slim & trim the ole city slicker Leroy Troy is!!!!! My grandpa and I watched him all the time on the Marty show thank y’all for all the great times!!!!
Leroy Troy is a national treasure.
Reminds me of summers at my Mom's family in Auxier, KY my Grandpa and Uncle's would play Bluegrass on the front porch on Friday nights yee haw such great memories!
An Original Act. Showmanship is essential for a Musical Act to be Great!
I never tire of watching Leroy maneuver the banjo while keeping the rhythm going, all the time, time, time....
Much respect to him.
He really is a character. Terrific stuff Leroy.

@Smarkflea no actually Leroy Troy is dressed like most real country artists and Marty is dressed like Liberace!
Figured it out at last, now I can go to sleep. Leroy splits the difference between Grandpa Jones and Junior Samples. The comedy equivalent of the parallel universe.

You can’t be serious.
