My dad played banjo like Leroy Troy. Here in Tennessee we call it "Mountain Banjo". This is hilarious! It takes some skill to change the lyrics of a song and have them fit so well. Makes me think of all the other talented country singing parodists whom I appreciate greatly. Leroy Troy is another great one.

I can't think of a time when I did not regard "Ghost Riders in the Sky"as one of the best songs ever written on the North American Continent. I have even visited the ranger cabin in Death Valley where Stan Jones wrote the American Western Classic. Having said that I have also had a life long reverence for the irreverent and this parody is friggin' hilarious.

One of the few records he had (an old 78) was the original version of 'Ghost Riders in the Sky, which I soon knew by heart. However, this is a really funny version of it....wonder what the original writer would think? (I am now 81)
