    What did you guys think? Incredible we can get this type of video on our smartphones! You do have to do work in post processing since the V60 exports in Rec 2020 so a Rec 709 conversion must be done to get colors to look natural. If you want a full tutorial hit that thumbs up!

      Also black bars were added in post for that Cinematic look. It does NOT come out of the camera that way and a 2:1 aspect ratio was added to be optimized for modern smartphones.

      This is by far the best looking smartphone video i have yet seen. Ofc stabilisation wise or in crispness there are some that do a bit better, but overall the depth of the shots and how it all looks unartificial(no huge software tweaking) makes it so much better. It looks like a bigger sensor DSLR video basically. Im guessing the lens on it is just perfect for this sensor. I would shoot a music video with this in a heartbeat!
      edit: in conclusion, the contrast and HDR are exactly the correct level.

    Does the V60 ThinQ shoot 4K/1080p at 60fps WITH HDR10+ on? I'm sorry to bother you with this question, but I simply can't find an answer ANYWHERE on the Internet. I'm more excited for that than 8K to be completely honest, because then my slow motion footage no longer needs to be compromised.
    It should go without saying, but your video is absolutely fantastic! Wouldn't be half as good without your cinematography:)

    Does this camera shoot in LG Cine Log? I think that may have been easier to grade than HDR10+ as it's still in Rec.709 and will give you the wider dynamic range.
    Also, does this camera allow adjusting the shutter speed in video? I think that could make a huge difference to the look of the footage than any resolution or HDR mode.

    Did you do any noise reduction for the video? Watching on phone so it looks pretty good at 1440 but my s20 don't look that good at 8k in that much of darkness. Thanks.

    • @dannywinget
      @dannywinget  4 года назад +2

      Camera comparison is coming Tomm. Not to spoil it but yes the LG video doesn’t have the same noise problem. Not sure why. To answer your question no noise reduction but the exposure control and adjustments crushed the noise right out.

    I apologize as this is off-topic from the video content but, I cannot seem to find what type of DAC the V60 has. None of the reviewers mention this. The general specs mention 32 bit quad dac. But some spec sheets I found online mention it's using the Qualcomm Hifi DAC (although not bad) which isn't the best. If so, using the Qualcomm DAC would be a huge letdown from the SABRE DAC LG has previously used.
    Danny, it seems like you've been using this device for a while. Do you know what DAC it has?
    Excellent video showing the 8K recording abilities.

    How good are frame grabs from the 8k video? Eventually with sufficient bitrate 8k video will supplant point and shoot pictures. you just snap a 5 or 10 second video and grab the nicest frame from that. if the bitrate is high enough its a 30mp image!
