LG's manual control is legendary. Don't like soft tones, tweak it yourself! That easy, everyone gets to play with settings and choose what they want with not only picture but video mode as well.
9:30 you have a clear example of the s20+ picture saturation. The crosswalk lines are white but the Samsung makes them look yellow because of the saturation.
I would have liked to have had more commentary from the reviewer with regards to what he was seeing with his own eyes and how the LG and S20 reproduced the image. There were several shots where the color reproduction was varied to a large degree between the 2 cameras and it would have been helpful to know which was closer to how the subject appeared in real life.

I agree, V60 is way more natural, S20+ has an unreal punch, although the dynanic range and night pictures seems better on the Samsung. In sound the V60 is the king, and will be my next phone when it comes to Europe.
This has been the most helpful video I've seen yet as far as a comparison between these two phones. I've been a samsung guy from the S7 Edge all the way through my current S9+ but after seeing this, I think I'm going to swing LG.
Sorry for the noob question but how do u turn off the beauty mode completely using manual mode? Is the manual mode that u referring to is it the Pro mode? When I use the Pro mode, I can only adjust the rear camera not the front camera.
I got a Galaxy S20 Ultra 4 days ago. Once updating software and getting the settings right for me - I couldn't be happier. Excellent piece of kit. Photos and video are fine for me in all modes. 100x is a gimmicky thing but you don't have to use it Techno progress will never stop, at some stage you have to say "that's the phone I want, and be happy with it. As far as this comparo goes I would never shoot direct into sunlight anyway - would be good with a polarizing filter.
I have a Note 10 + the pictures are really good. Really love the pictures on the V60 and the night mode looks much better. Do you think the colors are more natural on the V60? Do you mind that the screen is not 1440p? Great video thank you!
Correction: it's not a 3X telephoto camera on the S20, it's pure digital. Check the specs, it's 1.07X zoom, that's nothing. It's basically the same as on the V60. Well, technically, the"tele" is even less capable on the S20 than on the V60.
As a photographer I find LG more professional specially as video & audio is concerned. You can use LG V60 as a studio mic. Camera gives more details and if I were him I would use the camera on manual mode then you could see how LG is far better than the rival.
Other improvement in my opinion: label each photo, saying if it was took with which camera, or if with zoom, or if it is a crop (sometimes you show an image and the next I don´t know if it is new photo with telephoto camera or a crop of the original), or if it is using night mode (including the front camera). Last, if it could also show if the iso, shutter speed, man, that would be perfect. Just a tiny square at corner of the imagem showing all that information. Another thing: try to prioritize night images/videos (over daytime) with lots of lights and shadows in the cities (more demanding for the camera), group selfies (at least two people - which are more demanding for the camera), and, at night, with medium to low light, photos and videos of pets, children moving, to see if the photos turn blurry (I bet lots of people take this kind of photos). Cheers!
Wow, lots of demands. With capturing more than 60 photos for each of these comparisons, labeling each one with ISO, camera and other details would add 20 hours of work on tops of the 4-5 hours it already takes to get each of these videos edited and published. As for all the images, none of them are ever cropped. What you see is what comes directly out of the camera. No pixel peeping here, just original images.
@@phandroid Well, these are suggestions of mine to possibly make the video better, but I don´t even know if it would be of interest of other viewers. I think that, after the video is finished and the photos and clips chosen, it would be relatively quick do add the information I mentioned. You'll just have to go to the original photo and transcribe them to the video. Maybe 1 minute per photo? I don't think it would take 20% of time you mentioned, and would get even faster after you're used to doing that! Thanks for the answer. Ahh, don´t forget about giving possibly giving more room to night light complex situations, if you agree!
Thx for the time doing this video during the pandemic lockdown. I think LG did a much better job especially in the night and the microphone recording. I would like to see comparing with the SONY XPERIA Mark II.
LG has better color correction than Samsung. Samsung tends to over blow its pics. Sound quality is also way clearer & louder on the V60. LG gets my vote 💯
Cameras on the S20 are slightly better than the V60 in MOST situations. LG always had very good cameras but they were always slightly behind. The LG cameras are still great though. Microphones on.the LG are always excellent..LG REALLY needs to.give us a high performance front facing camera. They are always lacking in.that category.
Could you please compare the camera of the upcoming Sony Experia 1 MKII with that of the V60? I really like the dual screen of the LG but I don't want to sacrifice camera quality. I love taking high resolution pictures and videos
Before saying "unfortunately the V60 does not have a telephoto lens" you should have said the S20/S20+ does not have a real telephoto lens considering it only amounts to a 1.06x optical zoom.
I feel like Galaxy pictures are always over sharpened. V60 videos are definitely a lot more shaky. Next time let us know what colors are more accurate. Especially the night videos, colors are very different. Great video nonetheless.
Of course can't really judge from just a few pics and without knowing the light - but esp. the red-paint's whitebalance seemed far more consistent from the LG, than Samsung. Don't know which tone the red really was - but Samsung's pics seemed to jump maybe 500°K between shots.
@@3dkiller I am not saying this to say that one phone is better than the other. I just think it's a strange contra argument to say one phone has a very marginal optical zoom lens when the other has no zoom lense at all.
@@brandonclevert3173 s20 has 64mp 1.07x optical zoom. It's not even a telephoto lens at all. 3x zoom is a digital lossless crop (at 7mp + 1.7x superresolution algorithm) So both technically has identical zooming mechanism, LG is better here with brighter aperture & clearer primary lens.
@@harysviewty I am aware of that. It has almost no optical zoom. Still it has more than the V60. I'm not saying the S20 is better. Just that is has a lens that is slightly more tele than its main lens. While the V60 only has its main lense.

I want to buy the LG v60, but i wonder, does the front camera has a crop shooting in 4k 60 and 30 at all times ? or does it have the crop only when the stabilization is turned on ? please let me know if anybody knows
You know what is big problem for Samsung? In Europe, Samsung comes with exynos chipset(and we pay more then USA), and LG with Snapdragon. I refuse to buy that product, so LG.
The LG V60 ThinQ wins easily this comparison. Better picture quality overall, better audio recording sound quality, better low-light performance... I've been unimpressed by the LG Auto Mode image processing since the LG G4/LG V10 Era, but thankfully they seemed to improve greatly with the LG V60 ThinQ! I hope LG gets better recognition and much better marketing and sales rankings, this time!
For the shots at around 8:00 with the neon (the red sign and blue store front) which would you say was closer to the real thing color wise? I think the s20+ was shots were better at low light but I don't know how different the colors are from what the colors look like with the naked eye.
You have a lovely family ♥️💜💙💛🧡 I've never seen kids get mad for not being able to school before 😌 I think the V60 was better all round, and the night mode to seems better as it captures a bit more details in the shadows than the S20. They Audio on the Samsung wasn't bad at all, but I'm for the LG. But so sad LG dropped the screen resolution down, got read of the telephoto and dual selfie cam. I don't mind the screen refresh rate.
Like the dynamic range better on the s20, but LG held its own. Really can't go wrong as it comes down to personal preference. If LG Pay can get a little more mature, I'd go back to trying one.
This comparison is useful but not comprehensive enough. Straight out of the phone ,more people will like Sammy's saturated representation. Tbh both phones are not completely accurate colour wise. V60 has cooler than natural and Sammy oversatured and warm. I think a lot of serious photographers would need to colour correct the Sammy images more. Now considering absolute terms on which camera is better,it's def V60 when you factor in manual control. This is where the comparison falls apart in this video. It wasn't complete enough. Not blaming the reviewer because almost all reviewers draw conclusions only on auto mode and even then it's pretty subjective. For me I like the V60 images far better because I can't stand oversaturated images. Makes me feel like my world is Disneyland colour representation or I'm living in a cartoon world. For outdoor shots I can handle the exaggeration but for busier subjects it's too Barnum And Bailey Circus. Google Pixel cams are like that too. A lot of colour correction needed.
Nice video. Nice job. It seemed like Samsung pics were brighter and happier, then the next picture came and I'd change my take. It wasn't obvious to me. LG V60 looks like a bargain. Lovely family.
On T-mobile, it is a $300 or $400 difference if you want that dual case or not. The v60 looks pretty good starting at $899. LG v60 with the dual case is probably going to be my next phone.
The only thing holding me back from saying that LG beats Samsung camera is their video stabilization. LG should improve this in their next phone. I have had the G5, G6, G7, V30 and V50 all their stabilization is crap. Quality is top notch but stabilization is crap. I am always excited to see new LG devices hoping that the stabilization is better. It is getting better with each generation. But I still don't find it as pleasing as Samsung's.
If you want to know what to shoot yourself with to get a date, I'd definitely go with the Samsung - your skin tone is just more vibrant. On the other hand I couldn't believe how much better the V60 was shooting at night. There were times I would have sworn you must have switched cameras on me. ....... I'm looking to buy either the V60 or the Samsung S20 FE, so maybe looking at this vid is a mistake since you're not using the FE. - Did you ever compare the FE with the Plus ?

I agree, V60 is way more natural, S20+ has an unreal punch, although the dynanic range and night pictures seems better on the Samsung. In sound the V60 is the king, and will be my next phone when it comes to Europe.
Which was more natural and detailed? In portrait maybe Samsung is a bit sharper. I can’t say .
Your girls are gold
God bless your family!
This has been the most helpful video I've seen yet as far as a comparison between these two phones. I've been a samsung guy from the S7 Edge all the way through my current S9+ but after seeing this, I think I'm going to swing LG.
V60 🤩👍👍
As far as this comparo goes I would never shoot direct into sunlight anyway - would be good with a polarizing filter.
actually it's gotten WORSE over the years.
I have a Note 10 + the pictures are really good. Really love the pictures on the V60 and the night mode looks much better. Do you think the colors are more natural on the V60? Do you mind that the screen is not 1440p? Great video thank you!
Samsung's color science is really on point this time. It knows when it should have a contrasty photo(the sky)and when it should tone it down(a wall)
S20 has more detail in its pictures and better stabilization at 4k60(front and rear for video) , lg has Samsung beat in dynamic range. Sums it up
Correction: it's not a 3X telephoto camera on the S20, it's pure digital. Check the specs, it's 1.07X zoom, that's nothing.
It's basically the same as on the V60. Well, technically, the"tele" is even less capable on the S20 than on the V60.
Yeah. Better primary lens quality and bigger aperture
The Sam produces "better" overall pictures but at that price point, we have a lot more with the LG Dual screen carrier Mobile company bundle!
As a photographer I find LG more professional specially as video & audio is concerned. You can use LG V60 as a studio mic. Camera gives more details and if I were him I would use the camera on manual mode then you could see how LG is far better than the rival.
Good job lots of very nice photos thanks for an awesome comparison!
V60 is winner for me. Thanks for the detailed comparison!
Thank you for sharing 🙏
It's a detailed comparison 💯
Wow..LG💪👌
Man I can't believe how mushy the samsung audio is compared to LG, it's night and day.
I just bought 2 Lg V60 + dual screen cause Tmobile currently has BOGO for $899. Can't wait to test them out tomorrow. I'm using note 10 + right now
can you please make a comparison between both.
Good video but I think you need to comment more on the finer differences between the samples esp video footage.
LG V60 is better!
Can we ever get an 8k test from the v60. I've been dying to see how the saturation plays out without any editing but straight from the phone.
They are neck in neck, but the microphone on the LG blows the S20 microphone like trash !.
😂
Neck and neck, lol
@@hasmin2252 -_-' yeah
@@3dkiller I think all of your focus is on biceps, eyes are important too, get them tested...
Great job on an honest and unbiased review! Subbed.
Would love to see a LG V60 vs One Plus 7T camera shootout...
From the comparison I prefer LG. I might be slightly biased as I own V50. Sadly V60 doesn’t seem to be coming to the UK, or even anywhere in Europe.
FOR VLOGS WICH IS BETTER ? V60 OR S20 ? OR V50 ?
Is the V60 better in low light video than the V40 or the S20??
I feel like Galaxy pictures are always over sharpened. V60 videos are definitely a lot more shaky. Next time let us know what colors are more accurate. Especially the night videos, colors are very different. Great video nonetheless.
The S20 did better in low light.
No stabilization on 4K 60 on LG only 4K 30
Of course can't really judge from just a few pics and without knowing the light - but esp. the red-paint's whitebalance seemed far more consistent from the LG, than Samsung. Don't know which tone the red really was - but Samsung's pics seemed to jump maybe 500°K between shots.
are you looking at the same video or pictures? LG v60 crushed the 20
Lg wins
Samsung has 1.07x zoom telephoto
I like LG but the V60 doesn't have a zoom lenses at all.
@@brandonclevert3173 but comes with Headphone jack with Quad Hifi dac :)
3x zoom is a digital lossless crop (at 7mp + 1.7x superresolution algorithm)
So both technically has identical zooming mechanism, LG is better here with brighter aperture & clearer primary lens.
@@harysviewty I am aware of that. It has almost no optical zoom. Still it has more than the V60. I'm not saying the S20 is better. Just that is has a lens that is slightly more tele than its main lens. While the V60 only has its main lense.
Nice comparison, for me LG takes amazing photos.
Little weird watching different video. In your video the lg seems to do a better job. But in Danny video, Samsung was doing better. Just strange to me.
I noticed it as well. Weird
Maybe he use manual mode and did something to make lg look bad I'm just guessing or did something on computer before he upload the video
Perhaps it's just the inconsistencies of using auto modes 🤷
Different software version?
LG V60 is very impressive. It is either on par or better than the S20 in most pictures. V60 all the way.
For me i like the v60 here considering the price
V 60 Vs S 21 Ultra, what do you think?
The V60 in low light 😍
Image quality was often very similar, but audio from LG is on a completely different level. Then there are also things that you straight up can't do with the Samsung, like using studio headphones haha.
While watching on my LGv30+ , I can confirm its one of the best still even tho it's came out in 2017, but damn the main cam ,OLED screen, hifi DAC is beast
True. I had a V30+ as well before I bricked it. *the remorse* The video on that thing was superb. I was sold after seeing that youtube video of the v30 vs Red camera created by that professional filmmaker. I'd like to see a similar test between this v60 and the v30.
@@baihu4u that video "lgv30 vs red camera" sold me too not gonna lie ,that video blew my mind , not every phone has log features ,which you can post edit to further enhance it and it's simply amazing for all the cinematographers who would want to use phone just for filming purpose
How do you feel the battery performance after 2 years ? Does it degrade? Lg v30
Definitely LG IS ROCKS LOOK WISE DESIGN WISE, SOUNDS GREATE,
&MAIN QUALITY RELIABILITY FAAR BETTER THAN SAMHANG, ANY TIME SAMSUNG CAN HANG, LIW WUFI RECEPTION, SO DELICATE UGLY SHAPES OF QUAD CAMERA POSITION .
What if samsung s20 is better then ultra look like s20 plus is the one to get
Im going to buy lg v60 tomorrow.... This will be my 4th lg phone from g4 to v30......bcz they offer a lot for less money
S20 has better sharpness. v60 looks like it is better in low light.
Sadly the v60 has not the wide angle mode on the front camera and two dedicated switch buttons in the app one each on the back cameras anymore like the LG G6 does have.
Good video. Thanks
I appreciate it. What did you think of the results?
My V60 of 4 years was lost to water damage last week. T-mobile insurance gave me a S20+. It's cool and feels a lot different... but it just doesn't have the LG feeling that I fell in love with. RIP to my favorite phone of all time. I want to buy it again when it gets dirt cheap😊
The mics on the LG V60 are incredible.
The S20 captured the colors of the neon lights spot on.
You have a lovely family ♥️💜💙💛🧡
I've never seen kids get mad for not being able to school before 😌
I think the V60 was better all round, and the night mode to seems better as it captures a bit more details in the shadows than the S20.
The LG V60 kills the S20.
Wasnt even fair lol
Nice video.
LG V60 is the clear winner in most of the scenarios for sure 👍 👌
I got the S10 5 g and it's a beast, I'd rather prefer a phone with updates than phones that take years to be updated period.
Great channel, greetings from croatia
If you want to know what to shoot yourself with to get a date, I'd definitely go with the Samsung - your skin tone is just more vibrant. On the other hand I couldn't believe how much better the V60 was shooting at night. There were times I would have sworn you must have switched cameras on me. ....... I'm looking to buy either the V60 or the Samsung S20 FE, so maybe looking at this vid is a mistake since you're not using the FE. - Did you ever compare the FE with the Plus ?
finally stepped out of the grips of Samsung and got the LG, i guess " Life's Good" now
8:09 damn LG Natural colors at night impressed me!
